《Ex-mob boss in another world》A new world part 4

The torches lit up as the groups and I walked down the corridor. Inside the manor was also black, the carpet was purple as well as the flags hung up on the walls. The flags had a large black war axe in the middle.
The ground started to shake, stomping noises started to come from the front. The noise of moving armor also could be heard throughout the manor.
What appeared through the pitch black darkness was a 10-foot suit of armor, the armor was very wide and it wielded a black war hammer. You could not see a face in the suit of armor, just pitch black darkness.
It was slow but each step was powerful, it took one step at a time towards the groups and me.
“Everyone! Draw your weapons!” One person yelled out.
I take my BAR off my shoulder and into my hands. And aim at the body of the slowly moving tank.
We were not an organized unit, most people here are complete strangers, only knowing each other’s existence because of this job.
People were scattered and seeing this from an outside perspective they would call this a big brawl where it’s every man for himself. I’m not sure how many people here have my back when it comes down to the wire but I’m not sure if I would either.
Without any orders people started to charge right at it, people who used ranged weapons just fired, I don’t know if they have a plan because it certainly doesn’t look like it. Something's bound to happen if this unorganized scuffle continues.
Arrows bounce off the armor and the most the melee weapons can do are make small scratches. The armored monster slowly lifted it's weapon up, the people in front moved to the sides as they anticipated a downwards cut and seconds later the armor did just that. Although the swing missed it produced a strong gust of wind blowing everyone back. It's a good thing that it's slow because of one hit by that thing and your as good as mashed potatoes.
Again arrows bounce off and small indents were the best everyone could do, guess it's my turn.
“Everyone fall back!”
“Why should we listen to you!?!?!”
Goddammit, why can they just fall back without me needing to explain why.
“If you wanna keep your head then get the fuck out of the way!!!”
In the end, they never ended up moving out of the way, Well their choice not mine. The bullets in this BAR are really different from what I remember years ago, these bullets really pack two punches.
I fire one shot at the shoulder of the armor making a large hole, the people who ignored me stared at the damage I was able to deal.
”you guys gonna move or not?”
Upon hearing my request a second time and witnessing the damage dealt they gladly fell back either next to me or behind.
This will make destroying whatever that is easier, but it looks like it's gonna take a lot more than one shot.
”Oi! What in the hell is that?”
One guy points at my BAR.
”My weapon, you got a problem?”
”no just where did you get it?”
”I died.”
The guy gave me a confused look, of course, he would look at me like that. But I'm not wrong, I did get it when I died.
”I'm just messing with you, it's special and pretty sure one of a kind.”
”cool.”
”let's focus on that big fucker over there instead.”

He nods.
Some people in the back draw some magic circles which fire missiles of glowing lights penetrating through the armor. Yet it showed no signs in stopping.
It must have a weak spot for sure but I'll never know what it is so at the moment the best choice we have is the completely demolish the armor into a pulp but first let's put some kind of structure into these people.
”Alright, guys our only option seems is to completely destroy the armor, melee fighter stays next to me, ranged stay in the back. We will destroy the armor with simultaneous attacks. Ranged people only attack when I say so, we will back up whenever the armor gets too close.”
Everyone moves to where they're supposed to be, that went smoother than expected, though it would take some more time for them to accept my strategy.
“Get ready! Fire!!!”
A barrage of arrows, magic, and my bullets make dents and holes, as we kept on barraging the armor with attacks those dents became holes and these holes became craters. Soon we could see the inside of the armor.
The light that was emitted from the torches made the inside of the armor visible and inside was a magic symbol, the suit of armor was still able to move but know it was a lot faster.
Instead of slowly walking towards its foe it started to run, and it was going to run right at us.
“Scatter! Scatter! It’s running at us!”
The groups started to disperse but some couldn’t dodge fast enough, one guy seemed like he was gonna get hit.
I ran in and knocked the guy out of the direction of the charging armor putting myself in the same situation as he was in before being saved. From here I could clearly see the magic symbol which was emitting a dark haze.
With no time left to get out of the way, I aim right in the center and pull the trigger. A loud bang and the bullet glowing green goes right through the center of the armor thus stopping it and crashing onto the ground.
I don’t think this is the only one around here, this place is huge so these things could be anywhere, and it took that much effort into stopping one of these, this job is gonna be a huge pain in the ass.
I ask a magic user about this type of magic symbol.
”this is magic…...but I've never seen this symbol ever in my life, the lines are in places you'd never put them in, and they're not even drawn in a circle. We might be dealing with some old magic.”
That makes out situation much worse, we're dealing with things that we don't know anything about. This job is really going to take a while, worst case scenario we could be stuck in this manor for days with those armor guys roaming around.
”Alright, let's keep on moving, we can't afford to lose time in here.”
At the end of the hallway, there were three ways to progress, we could either go left, right or go up the flight of stairs.
Someone from the back walks up to me and says he has a suggestion.
“How about we split up? Form three big groups and we’ll meet back here once we cleared the manor.”
”sure sounds like an idea, make sure each group has enough mages, magic seems like the best way to deal with these armored fucks. Run back here if you're in trouble.”

The large group forms into three groups, each one having a commander and co-commander appointed, I was elected commander of the group going up the stairs and my co-commander was a mage.
Going up the stairs lead to a large room, this room had many doors which connected to many other rooms on the second floor. Instead of torches, this large room on the second floor had gold chandeliers.
It's gonna take a lot of time checking each room one by one.
”Alright, guys check each room.”
Instead of checking them one by one the group split into pairs that checked each room. The first door I opened lead to an even longer corridor, the second lead into a bathroom.
As I open my third door I see a tall suit of armor, it was the one from the first floor but this was a lot thinner and walked on all fours with a large sharp point on the helmet.
”We got an armored fucker over here!”
We start to regroup and get ready for another hard fight, the suit of armor charged forward extremely quickly slam in some people into the walls. The mages immediately tended to them, as the melee fighters tried to contain the quick moving suit of armor.
Fuck this guy is fast, we gotta hurry up and deal with this fuck.
“Move outta the way!”
The melee fighters that surrounded the suit of armor quickly dispersed, I fire two shots both get dodged by the suit of armor and hitting the walls, but no holes were made, once the bullets touched the walls magic symbols appeared and the bullets were gone.
“Guys! This place is booby-trapped watch out!”
I see one guy activate a magic symbol and he went through the wall, I don't know what's in the other side of that portal and I sure don't want to find out.
Not only do we have a suit of armor trying to kill us but also the whole building is dangerous.
Aiming at the suit of armor again I pull the trigger, but nothing comes out. Is it a jam? I cock the bolt back but nothing comes out.
I tell my co-commander that was standing right next to me that I'm out of bullets.
“What do you mean out of bullets?”
“It means I can't shoot anymore!”
The mages were also having trouble with the speed of the suit of armor, each magic attack was dodged.
I look at the current situation that we were in now, we can hit the suit of armor because of its speed, the only way we can destroy it is if we can get it to stop moving……..I got it!
I tell my co-commander what plan I just thought of.
“What are you crazy!?!?”
“Crazy is an understatement, but it's the only way we can do this.”
I get the Four-legged suit of armors attention, it takes notice and immediately charges at me, I can hear all the others in the group yelling out get out of the way but I've made my mind, this is the only way to do this.
The sharp point on the helmet of the suit of armor pierces through my abdomen and gets stuck to the wall. Blood slowly leaks through my abdominal wound and I can quickly feel the blood rising up my throat. The pain from being stabbed almost paralyzes me but I'm able to get a word out.
“NOW! DESTROY IT!”
The mages form into a line each writing a magic symbol in front of them, shards of ice, rocks, bright rays, and other things come shooting piercing the back of the suit of armor. The armor completely stops moving.
“Get this shit out of me.”
The group pulls the horn out of my stomach causing me to cough up blood and the blood to freely flow out. One of the mages draws a magic symbol that hovered around my wound.
Suddenly I felt extreme pain from the wound.
“ARGH! SHIT! FUCK!”
I looked at my wound and saw it slowly reform, it feels so bad probably because the wound itself is moving.
“Shit, now I got blood on my suit, it was cleaned not too long ago.”
“Commander! Your worried about that! You really shouldn't put yourself in danger like that!”
My co-commander is a nice kid, probably around 20, he's capable, I just hope this place won't be his grave anytime soon.
“Alright, we gotta keep on moving.”
I say that but how am I supposed to fight back with this gold plated paperweight? I'm gonna have to figure something out as we explore the rest of this place.
The more time I'm in here the more I regret accepting this job, I can only hope for the best for the other two groups.
As we keep on walking I take the magazine out, definitely empty.
There was one thing that caught my eye while I looked at the magazine, at the very bottom I could see markings, those similar to what he mages use, this might be the first step to figuring out how I can start shooting things again.
As I walk I hear strange things behind me, my suspicion builds up and I end up looking back.
Normal sized suits of armor drag people towards the walls taking them somewhere else.
Before I can make any moves something holds my arms close to my body making me unable to move. A magic symbol appears on the floor and in a blink of an eye, I'm in another room completely different from the rooms in the manor.
There were large statues of demons in armor wielding massive weapons, there was a purple carpet possibly leading to the end of the room. Flags were hung up on poles attached to the walls.
I don't have a good feeling about this, I look back at the empty magazine.
Thinking about the shitty situation I was in I gripped the empty magazine out of pure irritation, if something happens I have no way of defending myself and no one to protect me.
I don't know if it was the way I was holding the empty magazine but it started to glow green. After a second passed new green bullets appeared.
I'm gonna have to have a word with a mage or something but overall I'm pretty relieved that I'm able to defend myself now.
“Come forward, mighty warrior!!!”
A woman's voice echoed throughout the room.
I look back but all I see is a wall……..no turning back now…..not like I had a choice.
I walk down the purple carpet slowly looking at anything weird that can happen, looking at the statues each one seems to have a different face, each with unique facial features. Different armor and weapons.
A purple glow lights up the room.
Pretty cozy isn't it? Almost makes me forget that everything in this place is out to kill me.
After half a minute of walking, I encounter a woman on some kind of throne. This woman was beautiful, she had horns on each side of her head with long black hair. She wore heavy plate armor while holding a large sword, this sword could be comparable to a claymore but that sword looked a bit larger than normal claymores. Her armor was black as well as her weapon.
She stood up.
“Welcome challenger to the tomb of the dark kings!”
“Happy to be here…...I guess.”
“You have proved to be a mighty warrior!”
“I'm flattered.”
“Now raise your weapon and let us have a glorious fight!”
I hope I'm ready for this!

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
