Duncan sat himself down at the table, his parents sitting on one side of the table while his elder sister was tapping away on her phone.
"Laura, please put away your phone when we eat" Duncan's dad asked and Laura ignored him.
"Laura, listen to your father, I don't have to ask you again" the mother said softly, and with a roll of her eyes and a groan Laura put her phone on the table.
"Anything else you want to tell me" Laura said sarcastically.
"Come on Laura, why can't you be like your brother, see how he is sitting there ready to eat dinner.. Without any problems" the dad pointed out and Laura huffs. "You see as a huge disappointment don't you, compared to him I'm nothing" Laura exclaimed and she stormed off.
"Laura its not like that" the mother calls and she gets up from the table and chases after her.
Duncan's eyes followed both of them and then he turns to look at his dad who shrugs and takes his portion into the living room.
Duncan was glad that he didn't have to eat dinner at the table, he wouldn't have to act like he was actually enjoying life. Taking his plate into his room, he looks onto his phone to see a creature attacking the newly improved walls.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, What is that thing?" Duncan exclaimed.
The creature were huge invertebrates that were commonly labeled as centipede, unlike the one in the colony, this one was a monstrosity, it would tackle the barricade attempting to get in while the mouth part of the creature drooled out a corrosive liquid.
Duncan didn't want to waste one of his two taming charms on the creature so he influenced the people to stop cowering in fear and start attacking it.

To get Syndrome to attack the creature was easy, just whisper into his mind and say, "The creature has chocolate, kill it and you shall find"
With an outburst of chanting "Chocolate", Syndrome launched himself into the fray. The others were more reluctant in joining but when Syndrome tore a part of the creature's body off, their morale increased significantly.
Duncan sat back and watched the show, analyzing the attack patterns of the creature, first it would rush forward in a charge, the jaws grabbing anything in the way. then it would coil itself in a defensive position and eat the thing it grabbed. if it didn't grab anything then it would search for another target to charge at.
In total the lost creatures included 1 male and 2 female humans, with many more injured.
The two sahuagins and several of the remaining uninjured humans dragged the creature in, and a total of 5 points rolled in for defeating the [Rank 1: Lesser Acid Centipede]
Duncan was mildly taken back by the amount of points he received. All that for only 5 points?
Duncan chose for the three remaining females to remain inside the base at all times, they were not allowed to leave in fear of them dying off.
He unlocked the door for one of the rooms and he changed the empty space into a minor laboratory for 200, It had some of the most basic equipment and none of the advanced stuff used for analysis. He then used the remaining 55 points to give one person biological knowledge and tools for research.
"Alright, show me what this thing is made up of" Duncan smiled and he ordered the person with biological knowledge went into dissecting the creature.
"Now that everything has settled down, no creatures in the perimeter, lets get a status report, [Give Base Status]

The deep timber of the man's voice rings out through the still night and my body shivers in fear and disgust. Suddenly another man is at my side, twining his fingers through my hair. I can't see either of them clearly in the dark. The man, Bennett apparently, leans down close to me and takes in a large lungful of my scent as well. My knees begin to shake in terror and a low growl rumbles from his chest."She does smell good. She's pretty too." He says, pecking a kiss to my cheek. My face crunches in despair as I try to pull from their hold. "Let me go." I beg and the first man chuckles. "Awe. The little human is nervous." He says, amusement evident in his voice. A sob breaks from my lips as I try to pull my arm from his grasp."You're hurting me." I say, tugging my arm again."Let her go, Rowan." Bennett says, making the larger man grunt."Don't get attached to her. You know what happened to the last one."Cover made by @ViaAlyssaNicole
