WAIT I CAN SEE THE LEVEL? that is new, but I thought I had to be a close enough level to her level to be able to see it. maybe that is not how it works?

"Any last words?" Kate asked me with a huge grin with her aura glowing bright blood red wrapping around her. Now that I think about it her aura colour is wrong, it should be a orange colour for fire, red aura is Lava if we are going by things to do with heat. wait a minuet.

"To be perfectly honest I have a lot of last words, but I don't have the time to say them" I say looking at the countdown on my quest screen

[30 seconds till fight begins]

"One thing I would like to say is I will haunt you from my grave" I said with a ghostly demonic smile

"Ha? a grave? I am not sure about that but I will give you a lovely cremation" Kate said while her aura flashed orange before returning Red. creepy. best prepare my self

"3... 2... 1... Start!" the referee said while moving over to the betting stand, funny how the odds are 1000 to 0 against me... I will kick that Headmasters ass in 80 years when I am strong enough.

"Dragon Pulse" I said under my breath. showing no sign of my power increasing however the drain of Mana is great, my mind feels weak. but no time to complain.

"Take This!!!" Kate said while running towards me... very slowly...

"FIRE WALL" Kate said while gathering aura in her hands and throwing it at me. sure enough a wall of fire that there was no way of getting around without exiting the ring was sent at me. smart move, however with my new stats I wonder how much damage it will do.

The fire wall hits me head on as I just stand there. HA, the look on Kate's face is priceless. I am covered in her fire and she looks worried... What? you wont get in trouble, getting killed in this school is an occupational hazard and only results in a small fine or extra home work on controlling your power

[-3 HP, a burn affect will remove 1 HP every 5 seconds for 10 seconds]

HAHAHAHAA!!! that has to be a joke. although I have No Mana so every active skill is worthless this is amazing. however it is timed so I must move fast.

I jump out of the fire and with one step I am already right next to Kate. She must not have much in Dexterity as she could not even keep up with my new speed. wonder where her stat points are then? oh well, I pull back my fist with the intent of ending it in one hit I see her finally notice I am this close. and with one punch

The Hell? just by looking her aura does look like a hot aura but it is still fire? hmm... fire will burn any organic life, lava melts any non organic life, such as weapons and armour... maybe this is some kind of mix between both of them?

then her stats screen comes up. all I see is 2 stats that worry me

[Strength 136] and [Vitality 201]... That is just not fair. At least I can see the health and know I did some damage, not enough to win, but enough, and with here Dexterity being 43, I am faster. I laugh at her Intelligence and Wisdom though, looks like she has high Mana capacity without being smart, less then 10 in either stat. I could almost laugh at that

"Hahahaaaa" I actually laughed by accident and she got ANGRY. so angry her face went red and her aura grew to 2 times its size, fool. bigger isn't always better. well at the moment I don't have an aura. only people with Mana have that, to bad I have 0 Mana. maybe I should end the fight with quick in and out punches, if she physically punches me, I will die very quickly.

"Roar Of The Phoenix" Kate said, and as she did, she let out a loud roar, which sent fire in all directions.

"How are you surviving that? you should be nothing more then dust in the wind" Kate said, which would be true if not for me loosing all my Mana for a HUGE power boost, probably should not say that or she may form a counter strategy. wait with that Intelligence and Wisdom? hey she has more actual combat experience so she still haws the chance of doing it.

"I have a gamer's body, even if it does not look it, I may have very little health. however yes at the moment I have almost full health" I said looking at my health going up nearly at... 50 vitality does that? 50,000 HP!!!

"HOW? I should be much stronger then you? why didn't you use this strength before?" Kate said with reasonable questions. but I don't have the time to answer them. I am reaching my limit.

I charged at Kate and before I reached her I dashed instantly around behind her and threw my strongest kick at the back of her head. which did nothing, my foot passed straight through as she dissipated into a ball of fire. that was not even hot. maybe my fire resistance being max is helping me. as it is a passive and I love me some passives.

"Fire Illusion Barrier, you wont hit me" She said, however I knew where she was... somehow? maybe because my Intelligence and Wisdom are at 50. this is helpful. I walk around pretending I don't know where she is as fake Fire Illusions start attacking me. passing straight through me as I wait for Kate's attack. she slowly blends into the illusions which must have taken a lot of work. walks towards me and with 4 other Illusions kicking at once, I still avoided and returned the Kick. she fell to the ground with a look of confusions. I start punching her as fast as I can and as hard as I can and I see her health going down more and more until I am 1 punch away from victory.

"Phoenix Revival" Kate said with a smile as she then turns to ash and reforms 3 feet away. damn it. and I look at her stats, her health bar is Max and Her Mana bar was reduced a lot, Lucky me she cant regenerate as fast as me. now to just...

[Dragon Pulse Has Ended, stats returning to normal]

OF ALL THE TIMES. my Mana is recovering slowly however it wont reach max any time soon. so it looks like I will need my other abilities. Oh I know what I can do, I still have my Bloodlust Abilities and Fire Magic which I have not tried.

memories start returning to John. memories that tell a happy story of a child and his mother. and then him. he kills Johns mother.

Kate's Point Of View

an aura starts to grow around John, a dark aura. He was fighting so well until he said Bloodlust aura. what has he done? looking at him I can still see he is John however... he looks different, his aura is no longer calm, it is almost, scary?

"John... what was that" I said looking at him? I never knew he was this strong, he was impressive, holding his own against me. but this? scary...

"where" I hear him mumble... Is he looking for something? in the middle of a fight?

"WHERE ARE YOU YOU BASTARD!!!!!!!" John screams at a level that broke all glass in the room and sent out visible sound waves as the floor beneath him began to crack. his aura was pitch black and starting to change, he then vanished... that was fast, he was right behind me.

"KATE!!!" He yelled at a level that made my body vibrate with each sound wave, each one screaming in anger.

"y..yes?" I say while frozen on the spot.

"Where is the Headmaster" John said... shouldn't he know? and why is it just looking at him scares me to a Level I cant move? he cant be John, John is kind and so far never even got angry, well... never to a point his aura reflected it...

"w... Why? d d... do you n..need something" I said while stuttering. The referee also looking to scared to move, and we are the only people here as John was Late.

"YES!!! I need to... ASK hIM a Few THings" He said sounding less and less human and more like a... monster. I cant let him near father. but what is this pressure? I can Hardly move.

"First I need to ask you, what is that aura and why does it feel so strong" I asked as I soon regret.

"This is Bloodlust Aura. It draws upon your greatest angers and channels it into power. and as for why it feels strong" He then vanished and I was sent flying while feeling every bone in my body break at once.

"BECAUSE IT IS STRONG" he said with a smile that no human should be able to make, his eyes smiling and his aura growing more and more dark, and that settles it, I cant let him near father, I will settle this.

"DonT BOtheR. You cant win" He said with his aura growing more and more.

"Don't be so sure, SOUL BURN"I said activating my strongest move. it is my last resort attack that sacrifices my body and Mana to be able to use, however it does not last long.

"ready for round two?" I ask while jumping back onto the fighting stage at a speed he couldn't react to, I know this as he did not see or even move his eyes to look at me run around him 3 times before arriving at my destination.

"I WOulD SAY To sTAY OUT oF This, HOwevER I GUeSs yOu Want To PROTECT THAT BASTARD!!!" He said while his strength starts to grow. looks like this will decide it. His strongest power boost VS my strongest, the difference is I keep my sanity.

and with this, the fight looks to have started for real. I can already guess, He was using a move he had no idea what did and got in this situation, I know he does not want to hurt my father truly so I will calm him down the good old fashion way. Also I have to do it before my strength runs out or before his anger corrupts him to a point I can't win.

Does this leave you questioning about John's past? well to bad that is explained later, for now question if Kate will win or what will happen. all will be answered.

Also. how is my story so far? Being my first story I would love for people to comment, I don't care If you rip my little light novel apart, however it will all help me improve, or tell me what you like about the light novel so I know what not to screw up and change. it would be much appreciated.
