Chapter 4: Hope
Jordan stopped to look down at his little paws once again. He's been walking for a long time. The strange thing is, is that Jordan didn't feel hungry, thirsty or tired. He doesn't know the exact time, but he is pretty sure he was walking for hours already, and yet, didn't feel even the slightest of discomfort. Jordan mentally shrugged, guessing that his body has something to do with this.
Jordan continued walking, mind wandering, when he saw it. Something other than darkness. Light. Jordan's adorable little eyes widened in ecstasy. He finally found something other than nothing. Jordan has been here for hours, without human interaction, without entertainment. Finally, there is something out there that he could see.
Jordan started running. Mouth wide open and tongue outside, he panted, tail wagging happily behind him. He wanted to find civilization in this creepy place for a long time, and finally, there is a chance. There is hope. And so he ran, as fast as his little legs allowed him to. He noticed that he didn't tire, but didn't pay it any mind, it simply said that he will get there faster.
After a few minutes of running, he stopped. Jordan reached his destination. What he saw made his jaw fall. It was paradise. A beautiful clearing, with flowers of different colors blooming. There is a forest going down the left side of the clearing. The forest spanned as far as the eye could see. There were birds flying in the sky. The clearing itself was also huge. At least a few kilometers long and wide. There were wooden houses strewn about. Small cabins to wide and tall mansions. Everything seemed like it comes from some kind of fantasy.
Jordan hesitated. There are people here if the wooden houses were anything to go by. He's a wolf. Wouldn't they see him as future danger? What if they just capture or kill him? But the temptations were too great. Jordan wanted civilization, he wanted to interact with someone. And what does he have to lose? It is either this or going back to the darkness, and Jordan rather pick the former.
And so, Jordan stepped inside… Only to hear something akin to an alarm start.
