《Blinker》Chapter 12: Rogue

A week has already passed since I was issued the missions. I seriously have no idea on how to start this. I’ve just been training everyday like usual but I would just travel around the town so that I trick Aileen and Emily into thinking that I’m doing my missions.
I was in the training hall, practicing on a dummy when Emily suddenly came up to me.
“So how are your missions going? Are they hard?”
“Uh… yeah, haha, they’re really hard. I haven’t even completed one of them yet. Most of the time I go out I’m usually just looking for information on my targets.”
“Wow. It must be really difficult huh? I hope I don’t have missions as difficult as yours.”
“Haha, yeah. I bet you’d get easier ones than me.” I replied.
After lunch I went to Emily’s room. I knew that she was currently training with Jack so I took this opportunity to sneak into her room. I easily picked the lock with a few deft movements of my hands and opened the door.
I searched around the room and I found the drawer that contained her underwear. They were cute white ones and it kind of made me feel guilty yet turned on at the same time.
“What are you doing Rane?”
I froze. Shit.
I slowly turn around and there is Aileen standing behind me.
“I never thought you were a pervert Rane. I seriously misjudged you.” She said with a disgusted face.
“No… this is a misunderstanding.” I stammered.
“Yeah, creeping into a girl’s room and stealing her underwear is a misunderstanding.”
“It’s all Ben’s fault! He gave me this mission. I would never do this sort of thing!”
I ratted out Ben and handed over the mission slip over to Aileen. Aileen glanced over the paper and frowned.

“Follow me.”
I followed Aileen to the bar and was feeling really terrible as I knew what would occur.
She smashed the door of the bar open and everyone turned to look at who did that with murderous intent. It was normally a very quiet bar and anyone who caused a commotion was usually beaten by everyone. But when they saw that it was Aileen, and when they saw the look on her face, they knew not to get involved.
Aileen walked over to Ben who was behind the counter and she took out her two knives.
Ben immediately knew that something was wrong and he suddenly just vanished. Like a ninja.
‘What the hell? How did he do that?’ I thought.
Aileen disappeared too, just like smoke and I heard clashes of steel occurring all around the room.
People began rushing out of the room while I just stood there dumbly, wondering where the hell they were and how in the world they were moving without me not being able to see them at all.
The furniture was being toppled over, and knives were flying around.
I heard Ben’s voice in a panic saying, “Aileen, Aileen! It’s all a misunderstanding! I was gonna get paid good money! I swear I would have given you 50%! The man just wanted one piece of underwear from you! He was gonna pay 100 gold!”
Suddenly Aileen reappeared on top of a table.
“One hundred gold? I take 90 and you take ten, then it’s a deal. Oh and leave Emily out of this.”
“Okay! Deal!” Ben said hurriedly as he reappeared out of nowhere also and he looked haggard. His clothes were a mess and he had numerous cuts all over his body and he was heavily breathing and sweating.

Aileen left the room and I followed after her.
We walked in silence and I didn’t know what to say.
“Um.. Aileen? I’m sorry about not telling you about the mission. I should have told you and respected your and Emily’s privacy.”
Aileen turned around. “Heh, you cute, silly boy.” She said as she ruffled my hair.
“I would have given you my panties if you just asked you know?” I blushed furiously.
“Ha! How cute. I want you to go and apologize to Emily. As for your missions, I will issue you new ones.”
With that said she left and I went to go apologize to Emily.
With my head down I explained to Emily what happened and her face turned bright red like a tomato. She actually looked really cute and embarrassed. Then she slapped me and ran out of the room.
Sigh… I guess this is what I get…
The final month of my training passed by in a flash. And during this time, Aileen found me several new missions that I completed with ease and I passed the rest of my days training and increasing my stats and skills.
But during this month Emily refused to talk to me and whenever she saw me she just left the room. This made me feel extremely dejected but I didn’t know what to do.
When I asked Aileen what I should do about this she told me to just give Emily some time.
“She’s a shy girl. She will come to understand one day.” She told me.
Today was my last day of training and was the day I graduate.
“Do you Rane Coult hereby agree to the rules of the Rogue Guild and promise to…. (blah blah blah, oath stuff)” asked Aileen.
“Yes I do.”
A notification popped up and said:
[You are now a Rogue]
[From now on you shall receive one point in agility and dexterity every time you level up without the need for spending any stat points.]
‘Woah that’s OP’
My training days were over and now I could start my days as an adventurer.
Aileen pulled me into a hug. I surprisingly grew a lot during these three months. I think I’m now about 5”7 and a little taller than Aileen.
“I’m proud of you buttercup.”
The guild had a celebration for me that night for my graduation and I got drunk for the first time but ti was a great time and I
enjoyed it.
