《The Birth of the God of Mana》Chapter 3: Huston we have a problem..... maybe?

Rory was waiting in the livingroom of our two bedroom treehouse apartment. ( I’ll design the place this afternoon.) “Rory” I said looking for him.
“Yes Lyfa?” He asked from the couch.
“You know that our son was born with the ability to directly manipulate mana right?”
“Yeah, I’ve bragged about it to everyone on the school board.”
“Ok, I need you to come with me to George’s room and take a look at his ball.”
“Oh yeah, his ball, what does he call it, Balley? Our child is so adorable sometimes. What about his ball?”
“Well he kind of….. I think he….. just come and take a look!”
“Ok Ok I’m comeing” Rory got up and walked with me to George’s room where George was asleep with Balley in his arms again, they do that alot. George once told me about him fighting a ‘big lizard with wings with Balley’. Babies are so adorable.
“Go and pick up the Ball.” I said half hiding behind the door.
“I don’t see what's the big deal, it’s just a ball of mana.” Rory walked towards the sleeping George and his ball. He leaned over and stretched out his left hand towards the ball. His fingers opened up around the ball and when his fingers closed to pick it up.
“SQUEEEEEEEEK!”
“AH!” Shouted Rory jumping back still holding the ball. “What just did that!” He asked in terror.
“Look at the ball!” I said as I slowly went more behind the door.
Rory’s face turned towards the ball and his eyes widened. “What is this.” He said with uncertainty. Suddenly George woke up (why he didn't wake up from the screams you may never know……. (and neither will I)).

“Balley!” He shouted. Suddenly the ball in Rory’s had jumped out of his hand and went to George bouncing along the way. George crawled towards Balley too. When they finally met, George took Balley into a hug and leaned over covering Balley. The hug lasted a few seconds, then George lifted his head and asked. “Why you take Balley! Balley friend George!”
“George” Rory said. “Balley isn’t real, he’s just mana.”
“NO!” George shouted. “Balley eat Mana (True)! Balley not Mana!” He shouted!
“Ok George, can I just take Balley to make friends with Master Chase?”
“NO!” George shouted (Again #Babies first temper tantrum) “Friends play with Balley and me here!” He exclaimed.
“Ok George ok.” I said leaving from behind the door. “How about cake” I said cheerfully.
“Yay cake!” George exclaimed, forgetting about his temper tantrum.
We all walked towards the kitchen. Rory picked George up and put him in his wooden high chair. George and Balley started ‘talking’ with each other. Rory walked over towards me and whispered. “I’ve never heard of anything like this ever happening, not even in rumors. I’m going to contact the Magic Council to send Master Case to figure out what that ball is and what happened.”
“Ok, but please tell them to hurry, we have no idea what that ball can do, or is doing!” I exclaimed quietly.

Going to try and post one more chapter today... but I also have to read about 100 pages in an awful book for English so no promises.

Raccoon's Treasure
People waking up is a part of the usual normal life. An uncountable number of people waking up with fuzzy memories and selective amnesia, only to be greeted with a status screen congratulating them for being a participant of a game? The new normal. Uncertainty follows the realization as the world around them, while looking the same, melts together with memories of what was once called fantasy. New surroundings and blurred borders await as we follow a young man along his path of survival and growth. In this new world power is quantified and upgradeable, traits get objectified and give out boons, while feats, some bigger, some smaller get rewarded. So how hard could it be to procure enough food and water? Genre, tags and content warning are subject to change. They were selected preemptively to cover certain bases for future chapters. I do not have a script only a premise and general outline I will follow along as I write. As this is my first try at writing I'd be overjoyed to get any kind of feedback. Crossposted on QQ
