《Raimei no Henka》Raimei No Henka Chapter 15

Chapter 15:
I grabbed him hand, “You know what, you might be right, maybe I should join you.” saying that made me detest my own self, “See you can think properly too, now let’s go get the rest of them…”
He tries walking off but I am still holding onto his hand, “Let go.” I grinned from ear to ear, “You should’ve know better, these guys might not be my family but they sure as hell did take care of me.”
Directly after I said that I teleported us onto a far away skyscraper rooftop, as we appeared there while he was still in shock I pushed us apart. Getting one of my daggers in hand I pointed it at him, “Mari and the rest should be able to take care of all the fodder, but you are stuck with me here.”
As he stood up I felt a way different gaze upon me from him, “You lost to me two times already, what makes you think you will beat me now.”
“They say third times the charm, so who know I might just get lucky.” he didn’t seem to enjoy me joking around.
Like previously said, his entire aura has changed, from being semi-neutral to being fully hostility towards me. Unlike our previous encounters I actually have one advantage, that is the mark from where I grabbed his hand. But that is no way enough to beat him.
He lunged at me first, he aims for my abdomen multiple times and even more times for my head. But none connect, nor do any of my counterattacks.
“Just give up already, you should realize by now that I can evade all of your attacks.” Hated to admit it but he was right, meaning I found have to throw out my ace out of my hand and onto the playing field.

“You are right but you are also wrong.” I charged at him with full speed, just as he was about to dodge out of the way, I smiled at him. “Got ya.”
I teleported the dagger that was still at the base right into his hand, his ability can’t sense what isn’t there. He buckles from the sudden pain, but that wasn’t my end yet. I used my foot to pivot and turn around and slash at his face, though his battle sense let him get out of the way I still got a bit of his cheek.
‘Dammit, I was close.’ I thought to myself.
He stands up, having gotten used to the pain, his eyes glared at me and they said that I was dead, “Not a bad party trick but let me show you a trick as well.” I merely blinked as he said that, but he was already before me.
I raised my hand to block it was too damn late, he punched me right into the upper left part of my abdomen, as he pushed his fist deeper in I felt a crack in my ribs. Forcing me to spit up blood.
But that was not the only attack, with a large sweep he kicked my leg but just as it hit I teleported to the other dagger. I was writhing in pain from that, just as I thought I had a chance, he snuffed it out.
“Not so strong now, I thought you got me.”, those words were so annoying to hear just to think back to. I did almost have him, but at the same time I didn’t.
‘Fuck it. I need to get out of here.’ that was my plan, was it pretty, nope, was it smart, not in the slightest. Picking up the dagger I got back to my feet, the pain going though my whole body reminded me of when I awoke as a power bearer.

I got up to the edge of the skyscraper, “Have fun figuring out where you are.” I let my body go and began free falling off the roof. He tried to grab me but it was too late.
Mustering up strength from my pain filled body for one teleport, I didn’t know where, but I was going to appear somewhere. With a bright flash that I hadn’t seen in a while I appeared in an street.
It looked very familiar to me, I grabbed onto my side and walked forward to see where I was. I got a cap in my hand and put it on to at least hide me somewhat.
After walking around a bit I realized where I was, I was in the neighbourhood where I met those two kids and also where Nina’s father died. But damn he really got me good with those two strikes. Each step hurt like a mother fucker.
“Is that you?” I turned around ready to attack but it wasn’t an enemy, it was the two kids that I saved. “What are you two doing, didn’t I tell you to stay away.”
The girl poked the side I was holding and I fell to my knees, “It would seem you are the one in need of help this time. We are gonna repay the favour.” Before I could even tell them to leave, the boy put my arm over his shoulder.
Relaxing my body a bit I begin to slowly pass out.
In what seemed for me a mere moment, I jumped awake, but this time I wasn’t in a street but rather was in a house and laying on a couch. I had nearly forgotten about my pains, but when I tried getting up, I got a nice and sharp reminder right through the area where my ribs cracked.
“Dammit.” I said gritting my teeth in pain, “Where even am I.”
“You are in our home, here drink this.” the girl from before gave me some water and medicine, it seems they brought me to their house.
They had no reason to poison me, so I just drank the medicine directly, “Thank you… Wait I never asked your name.”
“My name is Haruna and my brother is Yukio.” she had a very bright smile on her face, it was very reminiscent of how Yuki was when she was younger…
