《Unknown Fate's End》Side Story 1: Clod's Regret
Advertisement
Hiding behind a brick wall, Clod watched the men looking for him run off in a different direction. He held the right side of his belly tightly, trying not to pass out. Looking down, he could see the dark splotch on the side of his tunic and could feel the blood oozing out of the wound. If he could have rested somewhere, maybe he could have wrapped up the wound, but being hunted as he was, Clod just dealt with the pain. It was not any worse than being kicked by a cow back on the farmstead.
Thinking back to his peaceful family home, Clod cursed ever having begged the master to take him to the city. This place was like a dung pile, with its vicious dwellers and outrageous prices. He still couldn't believe the price of that damn woolen tunic that one of the cloth merchants had tried to sell it for. He had almost punched the thieving bastard, who had called Clod a yokel, who knew nothing about fine wool or some crap. Shaking his head, he tried to focus, realizing his mind was wandering. Maybe it was the blood loss, but he was feeling dizzier than before and like his chest was hurting.
Stumbling through the muddy street, Clod regretted having ever crossed paths with the master. He had only met the stuck up noble many years ago, when they had both been youngsters and the lord they paid taxes to had come to exterminate a goblin tribe that had gotten too big. Master had already become a Chosen One at that time, and Clod remembered envying him and trying to kiss up to him to get out of that damn farm. Unfortunately, their paths had split up until the master came back from his travels, ready to do some big things. That was how Clod's father had put it, anyway.

His vision getting blurry, Clod threw up his dinner, becoming a little confused as he wondered why his mouth tasted so bloody. However, he tried not to loose focus, as he almost fell over. He remembered how his mother had always told him that he was too greedy for his own good. Clod wished he had listened, considering what led to him being chased like a dog. His master had sent him to pass on a message to some bard. But when he got the place, it ended up being whorehouse with more than a few willing women. Unfortunately, he learned after some fun, about the prices the damn whores were demanding. One thing led to another, and some shifty bastards had pulled a blade on him. Thankfully, he got away with most of what he had on him, especially with the gold he was supposed to hand over to the bard.
Feeling like he was going to pass out, Clod collapsed against a nearby wall, and he tried to force his eyes to stay open as looked at the cross streets he was at. He had no clue where he was, since this whole damned city was like a demon cursed maze. He didn't know what happened next, but the next thing he knew, he was lying on the ground and staring at the beautiful night sky spreading out above him. He remembered the same sky from back on the farm but wondered why he had hated it so much back then. Closing his heavy eyes to rest just for a bit, Clod remembered his family and them waving him goodbye as he trudged beside his master's horse away from home. He had only looked back once, something he regretted only now. Then, there was a sharp pain.

Scorched - The Winter Winds (LitRPG)
Frank Ebner once wanted to save the world. Let the second one be better than the first. On Earth he was a student of... well it hardly matters anymore. It was dying, and he and the rest of his fellows and friends studying how to stave off the end graduated just in time to be told it was too late. That there was not enough time, funds, will, to stop it anymore. That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. One riven by wars for places in the Archologies going up, and between them and the dying world they were leaving behind. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. If there's an update for the day, it will be at 7PM, GMT+2. *[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Actually completed it. :) *

Where Giants Fall
A fantasy LitRPG about traversing through worlds and slaying giants with nothing but a wooden suit and an army of treants. Nicholas Atkins didn't expect to wake up naked in the glowing woods. What he did expect was waking up to a hangover after last night's party- fortunately, that wasn't the case. Unfortunately though, he had worse problems to take care of than a headache. At first he blamed it on the alcohol; from what he recalled in Biology, glowing flowers didn't exactly exist in the realm of reality. However he was as sober as he could be, so next he blamed the drugs, but there was a problem- he didn't have the money to do drugs in the first place. When the fairies came, things became even weirder. Talks of climbing towers, magic tricks, and dinner were all on the table. Of course, dinner was the priority, but so was getting back home. However slowly, Nico realized that he might actually want to stay in this fantasy world. After all, he's had enough listening to Professor Paul's lecture on calculus- the swords and sorceries were just an added bonus. Still, staying in this new world has its own costs- and money is but one thing on that long, long list. Updated everyday except Saturday GMT+8 (Specific time varies by around 30 minutes). Mon at 9:00 AM Tue at 12:00 PM Wed at 3:00 PM Thu at 6:00 PM Fri at 9:00 PM Sun at 12:00 AM
