《Kali Yuga》Chapter 95. Captain Wang Yun vs Huang Wen.

Many other soldiers were not as shrewd as Sergeant Liang Xiangyou, the commander of the armored vehicle who stopped Huang Wen's and Baihu's rampage. When they saw thousands of zombies marched toward their direction, some were even greeted them with shout of joy.
The majority of them saw those zombies and assured for an easy victory.
But it was a short moment of joy. As soon as the first few zombies reached one of them, the joy turned into anger and soon terror.
Sergeant Liang Xiangyou already anticipated this development and quickly moved his armored vehicle to create a line of defense against Huang Wen's thousands of zombies. Rather than moved to help his slaughtered comrades, Sergeant Liang Xiangyou stopped at few hundred meters away from the nearest zombies.
From that position he began to shoot them down.
The rest of the soldiers in the rear, quickly moved toward the armored vehicle as their rally point.
Nearly a thousands who weren't fast enough or simply had the bad luck, didn't survive the slaughter. They quickly turned into zombies and replaced the numbers of zombies who were killed by Sergeant Liang Xiangyou quick judgment.
Thanks to Sergeant Liang Xiangyou's quick judgment and the leadership of other ranked officers under Captain Wang Yun, the situation quickly stabilized. About half of Captain Wang Yun's forces now committed to defend their rear against the thousands of zombies. Despite their number and their resilience, against nearly a thousand men with riffles, the zombies had to sacrifice hundreds of their own as a meat shield just to move forward a few meters closer.
But they kept on marching closer and closer despite the situation. Of course they were, none of them had the capacity to fear death.
They completely under Baihu's command.
The fact that they kept on moving forward despite the death that awaited them, means one thing.
Baihu survived from Sergeant Liang Xangyou's previous attack. If Baihu survived through that, then of course Huang Wen survived as well.
The moment Sergeant Liang Xiangyou's armored vehicle moved toward them, Huang Wen and Baihu had seen it and had part of their sight kept on it. Once it stopped and aimed, they knew it was the time for them to disappear.
It was easy to hid among tens of soldiers around them. It was easier to hide with Huang Wen's skill to hide his presence from people's consciousness.
They had to wait until the last split of seconds before disappear and in order to do that Baihu needed to sacrifice his physical body. A few seconds before Sergeant Liang gave his order, Huang Wen used his skill to disappear and quickly run, away from that location. Leaving Baihu behind to keep the illusion of their presence.
Few bullets whistled few meters behind him, even as he ran as fast as he could away from that place.
From his spiritual link he was aware of Baihu receiving no less than thirty or forty rounds of bullets before he could escape. Huang Wen could feel Baihu's aura was substantially weakened. Although he still had enough energy to keep his physical body, Baihu was too weak for a fight.

"Just stay there and don't move. Just help me through your zombies and use them to restore your energy as well. Do not dare to disobey!", Huang Wen silently gave an order to Baihu.
Baihu mentally nodded, although Huang Wen's last words were harsh, but showed how he cared for Baihu's life. And that was how the battle developed to its current situation.
With his presence well hidden from everyone's consciousness, Huang Wen safely observed how the battle developed from time to time. His card to win the battle was the ten thousands of zombies, his men who defended from inside were too few to defend it properly.
At the same time, they were holding the key to his victory.
If Captain Wang Yun managed to break through their defense, then his thousands of zombies meant nothing. Once the enemies poured into the city, his plan was ruined for sure.
From his place, Huang Wen could see Captain Wang Yun stood courageously on the top of his armored vehicle's roof. Just as Huang Wen observed the battle, he observed the battle too. But he stood there for everyone to see. For a moment Huang Wen looked at him admiringly.
Of course the armored vehicle was far from any of Huang Wen's men range of fire, but still for Captain Wang Yun to stand there openly was quite a sight to see.
It served the purpose of inciting fears on the enemies as much as kept his own men's confidence to win the battle. It wasn't without risk, since once or twice, some bullets would whistling near Captain Wang Yun, but the man kept his position arrogantly. Such confidence, Huang Wen wondered where such confidence came from?
He admired that captain's bravery but it didn't stop him to make the decision to kill the man.
The modern military organization took into account what would happen when a commander was killed, but still there would be periods when the troop would be shaken by such incident. Huang Wen decided that the survival of his men within the town was his priority for now.
He would left the battle on the other side of the battle field to Baihu for now.
Captain Wang Yun had coordinated his attack to break Gutian town's defense fiercely. Huang Wen's tens of men didn't have hours to survive, not even an hour or half an hour. Huang Wen ran at his top speed, his eyes locked on Captain Wang Yun.
Some soldiers felt something pushed them aside. Huang Wen left them confused when they couldn't find the cause.
One hundred meters left, fifty meters, twenty meters, ten meters.
One meter.
"BANG!"
Huang Wen's fist was blocked by Captain Wang Yun's crossed arm.
Both party was surprised.
Captain Wang Yun didn't realize Huang Wen's presence until the last few split of seconds. Even by then, he merely felt incoming crisis that approached him in flash lightning speed and at the last moment crossed his arm in front of him blindly.
Huang Wen didn't expect his opponent to sense his presence and even more he didn't expect his opponent to have the strength to block his punch.

He had lost some of his strength due to his effort to purify his energy, but he was still far more stronger than normal human. In that instant both of them revealed some of their hidden strength. Now, Huang Wen knew that Captain Wang Yun must have found a way to cultivate the ability after the changes. That must be the reason why this captain dared to stand so openly. Likely he had a defensive skill to withstand bullets.
At the same time, Captain Wang Yun now realized Huang Wen's skill to disappear from people's awareness.
"You...!", Captain Wang Yun stared at Huang Wen in disbelief.
Huang Wen gritted his teeth and without gave any reply, he quickly sent his second attack. He retracted his blocked fist, without wasting any time lowered his stance and his right foot made a move to sweep Captain Wang Yun's leg.
Quick Captain Wang Yun stepped back to avoid his leg from swept away, but Huang Wen's move was a fake one. He planted his right foot at the center instead and used it as the foundation to launch a straight punch into Captain Wang Yun's abdomen. Captain Wang Yun silently cursed as he quickly blocked Huang Wen's fist. He managed to block it perfectly, but the force still pushed him couple steps back.
Before Captain Wang Yun could stand steadily, Huang Wen slightly leaped and sent a kick to Captain Wang Yun's face.
It came so fast that Captain Wang Yun didn't have a choice but to step back.
But as soon as Huang Wen's foot touched the armored vehicle's roof, he quickly sent another straight punch. This time Captain Wang Yun managed to step aside to avoid it and prepared to counter attack.
Huang Wen ducked down and let Captain Wang Yun's fist passed above his head. From his position, Captain Wang Yun's right abdomen was left unguarded. Huang Wen didn't let the chance pass. From his lowered position, he straightened his body, with his right foot as a base, he sent an uppercut on Captain Wang Yun's rib.
Aa loud crack could be heard as his fist hit Captain Wang Yun's right side.
Captain Wang Yun couldn't help it, his body curled in pain and before he knew it, another punch landed on his left temple.
A flurry of punches, hit him from right and left. Captain Wang Yun ducked his head and raised both of his arm to cover his head and body. He was a veteran though, he kept his eyes opened, his feet kept on moving and he actively searched for a chance to get back at Huang Wen.
Bu the chance he was looking for, never came.
Huang Wen paused from time to time, but as soon as Captain Wang Yun tried to attack, Huang Wen easily slipped through his attack and instead of getting back at Huang Wen, Captain Wang Yun got hit squarely on any opened surface.
Within minutes, Captain Wang Yun's face turned into meat pulp. The fight was totally one sided.
The punch didn't powerful enough to end the fight at once, it just had enough force to bruise the face. Perhaps some cuts here and there. After a while, all the injuries started to swell. It was getting harder for Captain Wang Yun to see and breath.
The soldiers of course noticed the fight by now. For a moment they were shocked to see someone actually beat their captain to such extent. But they quickly realized the situation and tried to help. They didn't dare to shoot, they might got their own captain instead. Rather a few of them, quickly ran to climb the armored vehicle and helped their captain.
But how could they compared their speed with Huang Wen's?
Huang Wen easily kicked each one of them away before they could planted their feet on the top of the armored vehicle. He did it all while he kept the captain on checked as well.
Finally the chance he was waiting for, was arrived. When he found out that Captain Wang Yun had the strength to block his punch, Huang Wen knew he couldn't kill the captain with his bare hand. He regretted the fact that he left Baihu's sword, but it was already happened. He couldn't turn back the time. He had nothing but his bare hand.
If Captain Wang Yun was a normal person, without any improvement after the changes, he would be able to kill him easily with his fist.
But he wasn't.
All this time, Huang Wen was eyeing the gun on Captain Wang Yun's belt. But he didn't want to show his intention before he knew he could take it in the first chance. Instead he focused on fighting it out. Relying on his quick reaction, that was few levels above his opponent.
He already experienced it that after he began to purify his soul, he had this clearer mind and faster reaction than other.
He might not have the strength to kill Captain Wang Yun, but he knew he had the speed to overwhelm him. Now, Captain Wang Yun was in a very bad state. He used the moments when Huang Wen took care of his men, to rest and attacked.
But his punch was too wide, and Huang Wen easily saw an opening. He quickly slipped in and his hand moved quick to grab at the gun on Captain Wang Yun's hip.
"I got you now...", Captain Wang Yun grinned wickedly.
He got Huang Wen's arm locked. Apparently he read Huang Wen one step ahead and purposely showed an opening to bait Huang Wen in. While all the time, prepared to catch his arm. As soon as Captain Wang Yun learned of Huang Wen's speed, he knew he couldn't compete in speed. But he had been in such situation many times in the past and knew how to handle such opponent.
