Chapter 4- Fire Serpents
'Clear Sanctuary' was the name of the first-class restaurant located in the special wagons side of one of the Super-trains that travelled the territory of the Kingdom of Sayence everyday.
Their motto was 'To provide a luxurius, yet relaxing enviroment for the customers, giving priority to the comfort with the assistance of a first rate staff of professionals.'
It sounds good, but that translated to the common language would be something like 'Loyal dogs taking care of all the needs of their master as long as those could pay for it.'
In the rear side of the extravagant restaurant was seated a young couple. The man had a handsome face, perfect lips and black hair, he wore comfortable dark green-colored clothes while the girl was also a beauty herself.
She was not the elegant type nor the pretty and sexy kind of woman. Well, with her modest clothes she just couldn`t be considered the elegant type. She had long silky amber hair and big azure eyes like sapphires. She had an innocent expression on her face. The correct word to describe her would be 'cute'.
Yes, definitely cute. Like a small kitten trying to play with a wool ball with his small paws.
It was the kind of girl that would arouse the sadistic side of the dangerous people of the Big Cities, but it was also the kind of girl who would steal smiles from both, men and women, with her unsteady demanour. Like a cute child trying to imitate his parents.
The couple was checking the restaurant menu, the young woman was blushing slightly and if you paid attetion you could see that her fingers were trembling while holding the menu.
Oz watched the expression of the girl that was seated in front of him, and a smile appeared on his face while he was guessing the reason of her blush.

"Don`t worry, you can order whatever you want, I will gladly treat you. Not everyday I can have a meal with a beauty such as yourself." Said Oz softly, while opening his arms widely in a generous gesture.
The girl nodded shyly and ordered a few dishes. It was a strange afternoon, where two strangers enjoyed the company of each other. They didn`t even say their names to the other, But they were certain about one thing, they would remember that day for the rest of their lives. Chatting idly, joking, laughing together...

The Royal Capital of Daudis, a huge modern metropolis. With enormous dark grey metallic skycrapers. There were some that passed through the clouds, and if you were on the ground you wouldn`t be able to see the rooftops of those.
The peak of civilization, it was the city of the new sixth and seventh generation technology. You could find everything you wanted there, a paradise for the rich. From precious magical beasts parts to slaves. Of course, slavery was not legal, but there were other ways to make people bow to you and devote their lives to you. Lastest generation VRMMOs to the most exquisite domesticated pets.
Everything, you could find everything there!
It had both, the culmination of the endless potential of human beings and also it was the place where the darkest desire of humans was residing. The dark side of society.
In one of the ghettos at the outskirts of the city...
Flash! Flash!
Two shadows were chasing each other. Well, actually one was chasing the other, but they were moving so fast that it seemed that they were chasing each other.
The middle aged man in the front was fleeing at high speed reinforced by several layers of blue illeidos. It improved his overall physical capabilities and it also protected him from the attacks of his opponent, a devilish-looking youth with bright red hair.

"Hahahaha! Old man, how long are you going to keep running away? You should know that at this rate I will catch you sooner or later, right?" The red-haired youth didn`t wait for the answer of the man. He condensed his illeidos in three bolts of bloody-red lightning that immediately chased after the man like fire serpents coiling around their victim.
The man went blank as he saw those three red serpents chasing after him, no one told him that this guy was a magician!
Magician were especial combatants even in this new age where there was countless strong men and women, as a result of the improvement of genetic technology as well as the iron will of humanity to keep living and defeating magical beasts.
Magicians were special because they didn`t only fuse their illeidos with a weapon to fight. The illeidos on their celestial bodies were so dense and vast that they could materialize that energy in the real world directly as an elemental attack. This allowed them to fight with more versatility and make sneak attacks that in most cases were deadly.
The three serpents devored the poor middle-aged man in less than a second! He tried to defend using his greatsword, but the three serpents just bitted it like it was chewing-gum. The diference in the density of illeidos was simply too great. It`s impossible to stop a huge fire with only a glass of water.
There was not even blood or body parts left, they were burned to ashes by those three serpents. Truly terrifying!
The red-haired youth stopped chasing like a hound and a dissapointed smile was on his face. That was just too easy, he couldn`t understand why a red mercenary as weak as this man was sent after his life. Maybe...it was a prank from Arisha, because of what he did last time...?
He shook his head due to his incapability to find an answer and he checked the mails on his portable terminal. The previous dissapointed smile transformed into a grin as the portable terminal metamorphosed into his i-wristband.
"Finally, the practical exams will start tomorrow. I`m really looking forward to it."

Updates Once a Week next update 10/5 Wracked with misfortune, a nameless village along the edge of the Gray Spine rejoiced at the arrival of a paladin. Those celebrations, though, turned to wary tension as the paladin brought an unknown into their midst - his wife Nayinis, who wears the markings of a necromancer. Who is this woman? Why has she come to their village? Nayinis divulges her shadowed past, for she needs the village's trust to defeat the powerful foe that she has been summoned by the divine to face. I am expecting the final product to be close to 600-700 pages. The first few chapters introduce a somewhat-steep learning curve of names and mythology of the world that plateaus at aroud chapter 5.
