Locations/Entities:
Dalcot Empire - The country the story is currently taking place ins
North Squire Province - The Imperial Province the story is currently taking place in
Vinson - City where the story is currently taking place. The Capital of the North Squire Province
Kyian Trading House - A Merchant conglomerate that has a wide array of business dealings. Also operates Auction Houses in cities where they have an office
The Misty Realm - A famous academy for young practitioners of cultivation who do not want to be tied down to a sect located in Vinson
The Blue Vines Sect - The only sect located in Vinson. Most powerful member is the patriarch, and he's only in the Late Earth Realm
Cultivation Realms:
Spiritual Energy - Energy that inundates the atmosphere, the earth, and all living creatures. Sentient beings can naturally intake Spiritual Energy into their dantian to refine and enhance their bodies, non-sentient beings do in instinctively into a neidan
Ki - Spiritual Energy that has been inhaled by one, circulated through the meridian lines, and compressed into the dantian (or neidan)
Meridian Lines - A circuitous conduit inside the body for the circulation of Spiritual Energy/Ki. Circulating Spiritual Energy along the meridians will cause it to refine the muscles (and later the bones and viscera) while simultaneously compressing the energy to fit in the dantian
Advertisement
Dantian - Region on the upper stomach where Spiritual Energy is compressed and stored
Neidan - A physical manifestation of ki that non-sentient beings have inside their bodies. The Spiritual Energy contained within is extremely wild and must be purified by a cultivator before it is of some use
Stages - There are 10 stages in each Realm. Stages 1-3 represent the Lower Stage. Stages 4-6 represent the Mid Stage. Stages 7-9 represent the Late Stage. The 10th stage is the Peak Stage
Attributes - There are 3 Tiers of attributes. Only the 1st Tier is "common knowledge," and only very powerful cultivators know what the higher Tiers are, so only the 1st Tier is included in the list so far. All attributes of the same Tier are equal in power to each other but have different forms and functions:
Fire
Wind
Earth
Water
Wood
Metal
Lightning
The Common Path:
Common Realm - Every living being begins in this realm. Spiritual Energy circulation refines the muscles. Average lifespan of 70 years for humans
Mortal Realm - Characterized by slightly denser Spiritual Energy accumulation in the dantian. Not a significant difference compared to Common Realm. Average lifespan of 100 years for humans
Elementary Realm - One can inherently sense (faintly) Spiritual Energy in the atmosphere for the first time. Spiritual Energy circulation refines the muscles and bones. Average lifespan of 120 years for humans
Nascent Realm - One's senses can now interpret the Spiritual Energy that is sensed as a visual (faintly) so that one can "see" Spiritual Energy. One can concentrate ki into areas of the body for short bursts for a quick boost in power, but cannot manifest the ki. Spiritual Energy circulation refines the muscles, bones, and viscera. Average lifespan of 150 years for humans
The Cultivator Path:

Spirit Realm - The first "true" step in the path of cultivation. One is recognized as a true cultivator if they attain this realm. Most mortals never breakthrough the bottleneck past the Nascent Realm. Ki can be manifested into what's known as "ki strikes" and "martial techniques." The body's aging process begins to slow. Average lifespan of 200 years for humans
Profound Realm - Simpler manifestations of ki become less costly, and more complicated uses of ki become instinctively easier, causing a qualitative and quantitative jump in ki usage. Average lifespan of 300 years for humans
Earth Realm - Average lifespan of 500 years for humans
Sky Realm - Simple ki strikes and the most primitive martial techniques no longer consume a noticeable amount of ki, and have a diminishing affect on other cultivators of the Sky Realm. The body stops aging completely. Average lifespan of 750 years for humans.
Heaven Realm - Average lifespan of 1,000 years for humans
The Immortal Path:
True Realm - Cultivators of this realm have broken the shackles of mortality and have become immortal; they will no longer die of old age
Items:
Imperial Currency - The Empire has a currency using precious metals based on a denomination of 10's:
Platinum Coin = 10 Gold Coins
Gold Coin = 10 Silver Coins
Silver Coin = 10 Copper Coins
Copper Coin = 10 Iron Coins
Iron Coins are the lowest base of currency
Spirit Stones - Can be found in the wild alongside rare/precious minerals. They are formed naturally when the Spiritual Energy in the atmosphere has saturated the earth for a long time. They can also be created out of a Spirit Realm cultivator or higher infusing their ki into a neidan, which depending on their level of cultivation, will shatter the neidan into Spirit Stones with a majority of the Spiritual Energy being lost. Higher realm cultivators lose less Spiritual Energy. A Spirit Realm cultivator and above can also directly infuse their ki into the Spirit Stones, causing them to emit the Spiritual Energy contained within which can then be inhaled like a gas to directly improve cultivation. Spirit Stones are also used in the crafting of Ki Items
Currency Exchange - Currently the official exchange rate set by the Empire is 1 Spirit Stone for 1 Silver Coin
Ki Weapons/Armor/Items - Much like cultivators, these items have been quenched with Spiritual Energy to make them more formidable. They may or may not contain an attribute. So far only Rank 1 Ki Items have been introduced
----- Author's Note -----
I hope everyone is enjoying the story so far. I'm always open to feedback and critiques. I've gotten the posts close to caught up to my website as of the time of posting this. I have 15 chapters linked here, and 17 currently published on my wordpress website.
Note: This Glossary is not comprehensive. I will update the glossary periodically as the story advances. I can either publish an "expanded" Glossary in the future, where I just add the relevant information to the total and post the whole thing again, or I can just post what is updated about it when there is enough material to do so. We'll see when it happens.
As always, you can find more published chapters on my website, which will be linked below. If I haven't posted anything to this forum in a couple of days (unlikely to happen in the near future), you can find a more comprehensive selection over there. I'm currently writing around 2 or 3 chapters every day with an average word count of 2150 (though I have had two chapters close to 4k so far).
Thanks for reading!

Wings of Sorrow
Tension permeates the city of Bleakridge as forces within its walls struggle for supremacy. Grim Thorne, the disinherited son of the Earl, is a fly caught in the web of power struggles between these forces. When Grim closes his eyes, he can still see the bodies piled high from the first day of occupation. The day he was branded a bastard in the southern fashion. The day his father let them. Soldiers from the south bearing green cloaks and royal seals maintain order in the streets of Bleakridge, ensuring that the lifeblood of commerce continues to flow through the port city. In the slums beyond the outer wall, the Sons of the Reaper lurk. Some call them heroes, others villains. But all fear them for their relentless devotion to the old ways and the freedom that entails. In the castle above the city, resides the Earl of Bleakridge. The man who bent the knee and saved the lives of his people, if not their souls. After twenty years of occupation, the tension is coming to a head and Grim has to choose. Sympathetic to the Sons, duty bound to his father, and forced into service to the king. He must rise above the brand on his neck and decide where his true loyalties lie. But, after so long, it can be hard to tell who is deserving of loyalty. The King’s men who enforce order with a blood-soaked iron fist? The Sons who more resemble terrorists and crime lords than revolutionaries? Or the father who watches the bloodshed and does nothing? In the end, it is always the place of the young to bear the sins of the old.

Re-Ordaining of the Chosen
Alea cheerfully hummed as she descended the steps, brimming in upbeat while her colleague, Quarren Leos, shot her a look of skepticism. “So… were you right about him?” he asked doubtfully. She came to a stop for a moment, her humming falling silent before she shook her head, waving her medium length light-blonde hair from side to side. “I was wrong about him.” Quarren raised an eyebrow in confusion at the convoluted response.“But you seem quite happy?” he asked again. “Because I am. But I was wrong about him. He was… so much more than I ever expected.” Alea looked at the sky overhead with a smile. “That boy… no, that man, is amazing. I firmly believe he will come to stand on top of any adversary he faces. He is destined. He is Chosen.” Quarren snorted as he stepped past, shaking his head. “Okay. Each to their own beliefs but you’re sounding like a nutjob. That skinny twig? Everyone calls him a cripple, you know,” he shook his head.“Rumours are always false, Leos,” Alea answered with a disapproving shake of her head. “You wouldn’t know. He is so, so much more.” “I saw him with my own two eyes. I didn’t see anything redeeming,” Quarren rebutted. “Well…” Alea chuckled. “You haven’t seen what I’ve seen.” In the year 917 of the Imperial Calendar, the Great War had just ended between dozens of nations. Farrien welcomed home millions of troops and warriors with the Archdukes of Aerianne and Kanaria leading them at the forefront. Since the founding of Farrien, the Aerianne and Kanarian Archduchies have been pillars upholding the Kingdom from enemies. It was common belief that they possessed special blood blessed by the Goddess Stecia, who gifted the lineage to the first King of Farrien when he first founded the country. All were ecstatic when the current generation of the two Archduchy's, after the war, agreed to let their children wed. The excitement was short-lived however when the Aerianne Princess proved to be a dragoness among men but the Kanarian Prince was worse than even mediocre. The Prince disappeared and the wedding was shortly forgotten as society lived on. Until one day the Young Heir of Kanaria returned to Farrien a changed man, bringing demise with him. Follow the story of the Chosen ordained by the Goddess of Time as he returns to the past to right his wrongs and set things back straight again!
