Chapter 7 - Pandora and Diabolos

Sh*t. I forgot my shoes. Meh, I’m not gonna bother. Kindred had teleported back to Mordekor without any shoes.

“Hiiya, K-kun!” Pandora ran up to him and gave a nice hug and a peck on the cheek.

“Heehee, hi sweetie!” Kindred smiled and reached forward for a plain kiss.

“Ufufufu, what happened to make you so excited?”

“Eh? I just miss my girlfriend!”

“Sure, you do…”

“Anyway, I was thinking we make our capture of Chirenth Empire faster. Why don’t you work with Diabolos and do something cool.”

Pandora pouted a little when Kindred abruptly changed the topic, but recovered immediately. “Heehee, ok, I was thinking of something along the lines of wiggling our way into royalty.”

“Aii, my thoughts exactly.” Kindred nodded. At that moment, the rest of the squad also emerged from a modest house on top of Mordekor. It was also at that moment that Kindred realized that there was such a house. He raised his brow but did nothing else.

The first one to speak up was Seth. “Hey, I’m hella bored, I wanna do something cool with my imouto.”

“Stahp it, I’m only a few minutes younger than you. It’s not funny.”

“Yeah, okay, whatever. Back to focusing on the task at hand, I believe you two should hit up with the church. I’d definitely change your names too. I don’t think they would go so well with the people there. Well, I mean, I guess the religion is probably not Christianity... Just be on the safe side anyway.” Kindred refused to get side tracked.

“Yeah, fine, that works. Hecate is one of those 1% who are Christian anyway. So, if it has anything to do with Christianity, Hecate’s the one for the job. I’ll just accompany her. I think we’ll start tomorrow.”

(AN: 1% of Japanese people are Christian. I looked it up.)

“Aight. And Diabolos?”

“Works for me. I’ll just be a butler of some sort.”

“Haha, just don’t get abused by Pandora while you two are alone. She does it to me all the time.”

“Oh, come on, K-kun. You’re being so mean.”

“Che. I’ll just be wandering around for information in Chirenth Empire, so you can come to me for help if needed. Oh! Once you sneak your way into royalty, try to antagonize the emperor behind his back. It’ll help me.”

“Ok…”

(Pandora’s POV)

“Alrighty, D-kun, let’s go take a visit to Chirenth Empire!”

“Aii.”

“Waa! It’s so pretty! Oh? There’s a gate? That’s not so fun…” I blurted out every thought I had as she walked towards the empire.

“Haha, yeah. It shouldn’t be too hard to pass through. Kindred did it in a weird way, but I don’t think we need to be that fancy.” Diabolos remarked.

“Mmhmm. Kindred said it’s because of Dream-san that there are so many border guards. Heehee, he must have plans for later.”

“Yup.” Diabolos then straightened himself up and proceeded to step behind Pandora.

“Hai, hai, you conversation ender. Let’s go.”

*In a monotonous voice* “Welcome to the Cherinth Empire. We are very happy for your visit. We simply request that you all will allow us border guards to do a check for safety purposes. We apologize for this increase security due to a recent string of murders by a Soul Wraith.”

“Milady, table 4 seems to be open. I suggest we move there.” Diabolos gestured at a specific empty table. Pandora walked towards it with Diabolos right behind her.

The guard at the table welcomed them. “Alright, I will have a female officer come over to pat you down. She will also do baggage checks, including your purse, ma’am. Please wait a moment.”

Just as the guard stood up, Diabolos reached out his hand and grabbed the man’s shoulder.

“Excuse me, sir? Is there a problem here?”

“Let milady and I in without a check up. Then, forget us. Oh, and say ‘my apologies for forgetting’ before we leave.” Diabolos whispered into the man’s ear.

“Of course, sir. My apologies for forgetting. Welcome to Chirenth Empire.”

To the others, it was a simple transaction. It seemed like that the novice guard did not recognize an important figure. The butler had reminded him, so that they could go ahead.

Diabolos and I entered the empire. Though there were many lustful gazes, none of them stepped forward. They all immediately assumed Diabolos was incredibly powerful after seeing me.

The guard was disoriented for a second before everything was back to normal.

We disappeared into a random alley and settled down.

“Aii, D-kun, we should have names. I completely forgot, heehee.”

“Aii, Pandora. You can just call me… hmmm… Domova.” Diabolos gave the first name he thought of.

“Okey-dokey. My name will be… Wait one sec.”

[Message [Pandora of Mordekor: Of course, milady. The first one I thought of is Siglai. ] ]

“Hai hai, Domova, my name will be… Lydia Siglai, heehee. Lady Siglai… It’ll be a fifty-fifty. Either this will be an amazing gamble, or a horrible one.”

“I don’t like what you are thinking of. This is going to be quite risky…”

Diabolos sighed. “Our whole plan will be completely f*cked if your gamble fails, y’know?”

“That’s okay. Worst case scenario, I only need to waste a lot of my mana.” I gave an incredibly innocent smile.

“Not just a lot. Maintaining a level ten spell even at tier 1 is practically impossible. Kindred won’t even sustain a week, assuming he does nothing else. You’d probably barely reach that mark.”

“Ufufu, then let’s just hope my gamble works.”

“It’s not too late to decide on a different name…”

“No.” I shook my head.

“Anyway, you already know as well that there will be a fun dance with the emperor along with some lil’ ambassadors.”

“Aii, Dream told me about the Emperor Staurakios Verinas’s ball. You plan to go there as a daughter of a random noble from Thenada Kingdom?”

“Oh? How perceptive of you! Bingo, Domova!”

“The chances of you being checked is lowered since you are a minor noble, but will they even they bother to let you enter?”

Then Diabolos muttered under his breath, “I need to listen to Kindred more.”

“The ball will be in 2 days. I believe that the guests are staying in the palace’s guest rooms right now.”

“We should attract attention. We can just walk around. Maybe, another lecherous person like you will find trouble with us. Then, he’ll try to rape me or something. Then a guy will try to save me. Or! “O. K.” I gave him a thumbs up and stood up to leave the little alley.
