The day of Penny and Jenny’s third date was approaching and things in the house were a little tense. Penny was trying to decide if she and Jenny were ready to sleep together and more importantly if she was ready to share with Jenny that she had magic and could travel to other dimensions. In the end she decided to share the magic part after she figured a way to awaken Jenny’s magic power and could teach her earth magic. She was still not sure about the other question, but still planned to give her the prepared present.

And just as she was thinking about the things she wanted to do to Jenny, her glasses started ringing and it was Jenny that was calling. After tinkering with the glasses time and again and upgrading their technology with better and better components she completely stopped using a smartphone and started doing everything she needed a phone for through them and so much more. Penny received the call and was a smile crept on her lips when she heard the voice on the other side.

-We just received a call from such and such, them and them, those and others and I think they want to negotiate acquisition of the company. Everyone was very vague on the phone, but that is what I thing is happening.-

And that immediately put a frown on Penny’s face. They only had 2 products on the market and one wasn’t even officially for sale yet. Sure she had more than 10 or was it 20… patents, but that couldn’t be it, right?

-Recently I hired a new assistant, so once I post her information as a contact with me all my business calls will go through her, so you wouldn’t have to bother with such business. In the meanwhile arrange a meeting if they want cooperative partnership. If they want an acquisition, shares or to invest, refuse them and don’t bother with them anymore.-

-Alright, I will call you later with the results and date and time of the meeting if we come to an agreement.-

-Are we still on for our date tomorrow? I made reservations for dinner and everything.-

-You don’t plan to again spend the entire day together and call it a date?-

That brought another smile to Penny’s lips and a little giggle.

-No, I will pick you in the afternoon, we will watch some new movie in the cinema and then I plan to take you to a fancy restaurant for dinner. And after than all depends on the evening’s mood.-

The call ended and Penny started preparing for the next day. She researched what movies were playing in the cinemas, what restaurants were highly recommended for their food, then hacked the health department to check when it was last evaluated and what its score was. There was no way she was taking Jenny to dinner and making her sick because of food poisoning. Penny made reservation in the restaurant, bought tickets for James Bond movie marathon in the movie theater, of which they would probably only catch one of the later movies. She then made it so every call to the CEO would go through Elena, one of A.I.C.A.’s bodies registered as Penny’s new assistant, instead of going to Jenny or anyone else in the company.

The next day came and Penny did what she did every morning, yoga, tai chi, martial art forms, Dance Dance Revolution, muscle training and origami folding for dexterity. She then fabricated the latest iteration of the present, the control interface in the form of neural transmitter, plus a special haptic suit and a set of holographic projection beads, then she fabricated a box, packed them all and put a ribbon on it.

For the rest of the day, until it was time to pick Jenny for their date, Penny worked on her designs for her greatest prank yet. She first worked on an amphibious drone, incorporating different parts of the stolen technology and giving it a distinct organic look. She incorporated holographic projectors, the knockout effect from the alien gun and a subdued version of the wave gun that could render creatures unconscious in specified radius. When done with her newest design, Penny send Raven with the life pod back to the location on the ocean floor Aica visited before.

Penny took a quick shower, combed her hair and changed her clothes, then took her hover scooter from its charging station, the present for Jenny and went out the door. This time she felt a little strange riding a scooter to her date. In the beginning when they were going to the park or marked it was acceptable, but now, when they were going to the movies and restaurants, places that were more traditional for dates, maybe it was time for her to get a car. Or in her case build one from scratch and register in the DMV and where else was needed. She should look into that before she had to pass any safety inspections and was failed because she didn’t cover something benign for her.

Penny arrived in front of Jenny’s home and the two rode their scooters to the movie theater with the James Bond marathon just in time to catch You Only Live Twice. They bought overpriced popcorn and drinks and found their seats just as the ads were over and the movie began. They had fun with the plot and acting and made fun of the old or over the top gadgets presented in the movie.

-I always found the gadgets in the newer Bond movies interesting and sometimes practical, but there were actually some ridiculous ones.-

-Most things they considered gadgets then are part of everyday life and others could be made by first year engineering students in university.-

-Oh? Then you can make any gadget in the bond movies?-

-As long as they follow the laws of physics. Like there are no magnets, natural or electromagnetic, strong enough to attract or deflect a bullet. Just choose a gadget and I will make it for you.-

-I will have to think about that long and hard to come to a decision.-

The two watched the end of the movie, bought more snacks and drinks and stayed for the next movie in the list. When that one was also over, the two exited the movie theater and rode to their next destination, a fancy restaurant.

Penny, with a little embarrassment, left their scooters to the valet to park and walked into the restaurant with Jenny. They were showed to their table and ordered dinner and drinks.

-You know, I haven’t said it out loud or anything, but I like you a lot. I can even go so far as to say I am in love with you.-

-Wow, you don’t mince words and went out and said it. You didn’t even say you are the L-word with me and I make the joke about lesbians. Ha-ha.-Jenny didn’t know what else to say, the confession was that unexpected. She also liked Penny, but wasn’t sure if she was ready to throw in the L-word. There was silence until their meal arrived, which gave Jenny plenty of time to come to terms with her feelings.-I also like you a lot and am grateful for giving me a job in what I suspect will be a giant company someday, but maybe because of that I am not ready to say ‘I love you’ back. But I am not saying I won’t be ready in the future.-

That brought a strange mix of emotions, but all of them resulted in a type of smile appearing on Penny’s face. That she wasn’t ready didn’t mean she won’t be or that there weren’t positive feeling aimed at her. Jenny said she liked her and for now that was enough. The two ate their meal, which was quite delicious, while talking about their days after the construction of the production facility and what their plans were for the game console. When the food was gone, Penny gave the box with the present to Jenny.

When she put on her own haptic suit, got her Sextopus ready and put on the AR/VR glasses and the control band, what awaited her was the image of Jenny, ready for action. It looked like that night Penny and Jenny were going to bow chicka bow wow.
