《I reluctantly became the dungeon master》chapter 2: Let’s build dungeon, the first battle.

I wake up. The ceiling is still the same.
Mosses and molds grow everywhere. And the spiders have 16 legs, I can't stand this. I nag.
I stand up while dusting off. I remember what God said to me:
Now that danger is imminent, I need to focus on defense right now.
I checked my room. But it was no longer a large room. It was a long cave with insects everywhere. The cave ceiling is about 6 meters high and very wide - so much so that 5 to 6 people go in and still wide. After examining for about 15 minutes, I remember the System.
I say: “System, what happened when I fainted?”
When you fainted:
- +2 dungeon point
- 3 invaders appeared
- 3 invaders disappeared
“Thanks. Wait what? Invaders?” I exclaim panicked. “System, who are the invaders?”
*Waiting, 3 goblins, 1 range, and 2 melees.*
“Why they didn’t notice me?” I try to figure out what happened “Maybe they walk in when the construction happened. This means they can be back at any time. That’s bad!”
“Menu” I shout loudly.
*Warning, because of your low level, Some options will be locked.*
“Just open please,” I beg.
A board pops up in front of me.
Creature
Item

I immediately press the creature tab.
Another board pops up
Creature Tier 1:
???
Boss Tier 1:
???
I have no choice but to press the ‘Creature Tier 1:’ tab.

“The core slime? System what is the core slime?” I curiously ask.
*This slime is a kind of slime but its out layer can’t absorb mana flowing in the air. That’s why the core, which can be called “heart”, is placed inside its body to store mana.*
“This means if the core is broken, the slime will die right,” I say
*Absolutely yes*
“Thanks. And show me the core slime’s stat, please.”

“That’s it. And it costs me 10 dungeon points. That isn’t fair. Imagine how many dungeon points I need to buy a boss tier 1” I exclaimed discontentedly.
“Anyways, it can be used as a wall” I ignore and continuing examining the ‘Creature Tier 1’ tab.
“So, The ‘(12)’ means I have got 12 dungeon point right,” I think while rubbing my chin.
“Why it is so low” I sigh. “System, how to get dungeon points”
*You can get more dungeon points from:*
*The concentration of magic in your dungeon*
*Absorbing the mana crystals, dead creatures, and items*
*You can directly transfer mana into the dungeon point through the core – 1 MP/ 1 DP*
“Oh, so I can transfer my mana into dungeon points. But wait, stat”

“Mana point is 0. No. This can’t be” I almost burst out when I see it but soon calm down.
Something crosses my eyes and makes me curious:
*As a beginner, compensation will give to John. A 10000 SP skill will be created, please type in: ______________________*
“The dungeon points are so low which means I have to engage the battlefield. The core slime is a melee. And…” I hesitate.
“System, according to my level, when will I get the ranged creature?”
*Calculating*
*At level 4 and you will unlock the ranged goblin.*
“Well, when I get there, I will become a melee. But it is late. Which means I must go as an archer.” I mutter.
An archer is easily killed in the battle but it is suitable for me.
Firstly, I am just an ordinary person, working on a company not military. This means my strength, stamina, vitality is extremely low. And archer doesn’t need to use so much strength like a warrior or raise vitality points to prop like tanks. All I need is improving my stamina and agility to run around my dungeon and ambush those invaders from afar.
Secondly, I’m afraid of death. I don’t care if everyone told me, coward. At least I can survive and live better than those trying to be brave then die in such stupid places. And the archer is perfect for those who are afraid of death.
Thirdly, I have gone to the military service for two years. This means I have known how to use guns and other things. Using a gun is absolutely the best because of its strong firepower, which can easily eliminate a great deal of goblins.
“But there is a thing I have to confirm first. System, is there a gun in the item list?”
*There are no guns in the item list. Because of its modern, the gun will be eliminated from this world to balance the order of the world.*
“Ok. I get it. Thanks!” I say with a little sadness. After that, I start writing the compensation.
Skill’s Name: Sharpshooter master
(Attribute: None)(Locked)(Unique)
*Allow using the bow professionally*
Then I press the ‘save’ button.
*Examining the quality of the skill.*
*Initiating the compensation for beginner.*
*10000 SP are using to create a new skill.*
*Improving the quality of the skill.*
*Showing the new stat.*
Skill’s Name: Sharpshooter master
Attribute: None
Level: Locked

- Allow wielding all ranged weapons professionally
- Help you to predict the direction of moving object
- The archer’s body
o Strengthening your senses. Your agility increases 150. Your senses are 10% more shaper.
- Time arrow:
o When activated, your heart seems to bump faster. All your senses seem to be even more shaper. The time seems to move slowly.
o You act 10000% faster in 1 minute.
*Do you want to save?*
I hesitate a bit. “A leveling skill should be more useful than the locked one.” I thought that while changing the stat.
Skill’s Name: Sharpshooter master

*Do you want to save*
I happily press ‘save’.
A lot of methods of how to use the bow entering my brains.
A headache strikes me. I try to stay still on my legs.
The whole place seems to be darker overtime. My headache is getting worse but my sense is getting even more shaper.
After a while, not sure how long it was, the headache stops. My sense is clearer now and my body seems to be more flexible.
I never have these feelings. If I have to describe, it is strange. I even know how to use the bow as if it was in my subconsciousness. I regain my breath and reassure myself:
“With this skill, I can survive if there are no strong creatures”. I sigh and check out the skill.
“System, open the ‘Item’ tab.”
*Opening ‘Item’ tab*
A board pops up in front of me
Tier 1:
Weapons
Armour
Materials
Skill Books
Magic stones
Other things
I press the ‘Weapons’ tab and buy a bow and a quiver full of arrows, about 50 I guess, for 2DP.
Thanks to my skill, I pull on the bowstring without much effort. I try to shoot the arrow. I think the arrow will fly in a straight line. But the worst scene I’d never imaged comes. The arrow didn’t even fly for an inch.
“What? What happened to the arrow, System?” I jittery say
*Finding out the cause. Success*
*Because of the high density of the mana, the projection will be blocked. *
*Requiring a magic arrow in this condition.*
*Calculating the necessary amount of mana for an arrow*
*A 3MP arrow can fly 100 meters in this condition*
“Even the world is against me,” I shout angrily.
After enraging for a while, I finally calm down; put 3 arrows into the core.
“System, infuse 3MP inside these arrows, please.” I politely ask the System “Politeness is always needed.”
The System infuses the arrows right after I asked. “That’s why the politeness is needed.”
The pure magic flows inside the arrow, making me quite impressive. It strongly brightens through the darkest corner of the cave, leaving out a light blue arrow. The arrows covering by the light blue magic seem to get stronger now, giving me high confidence in defeating the goblins.
“With some more preparations, I can deal with them” I clenched my hand with a cheerful smile.
I quickly say: “System, open the ‘Expansion’ tab”
A map of the dungeon comes up in less than a second.
Right now I just have a long straight tunnel.
“I will make a straight long hole, fitting enough a goblin. The goblin isn’t smart like humans I guess. The human will break through the hole but the goblin will try to crawl through it. All I have done is putting all my strength in a single attack. With that, both three of them will die.”
I build a wall with a hole, enough for a goblin to crawl through.
After setting all preparation, the first battle arrives.
“Ok the first battle, don’t have to be worried. Relax and everything will be fine.” I try to calm down with those meaningless words.
But the bad news comes.
*4 Invaders appeared*
“Oh, sh*t” I unconsciously curse.
“System, who are they?” I ask the System “Hopefully not a shaman or a leader. With their high intelligence, they will break the hole, using my 1 precious dungeon point.” I thought while begging.
*4 goblins. 2 melees, 1 range, 1 shaman.*
“Noooooooooooooooooooooo! This can’t be” I shout. “I have to find a way out of this situation.” I bite my nail while thinking.
“The shaman will need time to cast a spell. At that time, I will activate my skill and shot arrow at them. Oh wait, I just have 3 arrows which mean I have to stay as close to them as possible.” I hurriedly think.
“That is the only way. Dead or alive, I give it to my 2.032 points of luck.” I finish thinking.
I turn my gaze at the goblins, showing inside the dungeon core.
*Clicking tongue*
The shaman goblin is smart. He stays at the lowest position in their formation, where the protection is the highest. That means I have to shoot the melee and range before reaching the shaman.
I start to move as fast as I could. I need to reach the hole now before the explosion occurs.
“I just have this only chance.” I try to stay calm while running toward the hole.
On the way to the hole, I dig some gaps for me to hide in when the situation getting worse. “Preparation is never redundant”.
I wait at gaps, near to the hole. I stay there for about 3 minutes and hear their sounds.
*krik, krik*
“What an annoying thing. Maybe they are saying something. When a goblin crawls through, I will elimin…” I can’t even finish my sentence and an explosion occurs. “The shaman breaks the wall, d*mn!” I quickly hide in the gaps. The dust flies in my mouth make me cough a lot. That means they absolutely find me. The ranger tries to shoot an arrow but it doesn’t work. “Yes. Thanks the mana.”
I quickly run to the nearest gap and hide there. With my agility, I easily get them off.
But I have to kill them fast or they will approach my dungeon core and break it.
“I will wait here.” I sit down to relax a bit.
“They are here, about 2 kilometers. It looks like they didn’t notice me. Maybe my sense is shaper than them.” I think and keep silent.
*1950 meters… 1900 meters… 1850 meters…*
They stop. The shaman is casting a spell. “They figure out or they just simply use detection magic. This means I will be noticed soon.” I quickly reveal myself and run towards them. The shaman stops casting detection spell and quickly changes to the attack spell. And the melees bring out their rusty weapons. The rusty weapon isn’t a threat to me but the bacteria in it are actually big problems. “If they hit me only once, I could die because of the bacteria and virus.” I focus on those rusty swords. After that, I activate the time arrow.
The time begins to move slower. My body is extremely hot, even the smoke rises.
*Activate the time arrow, counting down 1*
“10 seconds is enough!” I pull the bowstring while shouting.
*2…3…4…*
I rapidly shoot 3 arrows at my targets and quickly rush toward them. The magic arrow pierces through the high-density magic, soars through the air, making sounds like tearing the air. In my slow time, the arrows fly incredibly fast and reach them in less than 1 second. They, the arrows, pierce through their head. Because of the slow time, it has to be a while before their heads explode.
*5…6…7…*
I reach them in a hurry. All my sense is getting sharper overtime. Every step of mine makes out a big hole on the floor because the pressure is higher when I was faster. I focus my gaze on the shaman and reach its place. I quickly pick my arrows up and trying to stab the goblin. But suddenly…
*8…9…10… Time’s out.”
I startle.
The time goes back to normal. My body is extremely hot and hurt. My muscle fibers like torn out. My leg seems to lose all the strength and ready to collapse. “So this is the side effect of not getting used to the new skill,” I mutter while trying to stay still on my legs.
My vision is getting darker. My consciousness is fading away. “I can’t lose here. I can’t die.”
But my instinct is roaring. I have to move, killing that shaman.
The goblin seems to be surprised at first but soon continuing casting its spell.
And put all my strength in my leg and stab the arrow in its head the moment the magic completed. The magic explosion makes me fly backward about 100 meters. My back hit hard on the floor. My head hurts a lot. I can’t stay still now. My consciousness is going to fade at any time. That is means I faint.
But after I collapsed on the floor, I try to open my mouth: “System, chamber room.”
*Understood*
A circle appears underneath me to teleport me.
My consciousness fades away. I close my eyes and satisfy with my first victory.
Goodnight!
