The chomp had started out with the intention of investigating a heist, and now he was orchestrating one instead. He sighed at the irony.

"Stop sighing!" Squeaked Mo.

"The warm air from your breath melts me faster!"

It was the dead of night. All the shops and stalls on the great market street were shut down for the day. There was not a chomp in sight as the chomp and Mo sneaked towards the bakery, which turned out to be just another nondescript shop in a row of shops that were part of one massive gingerbread structure that extended through most of the blocks of the busy Downtown area. It was for this reason that Daifuku was often referred to as the "Ginger City".

Like the rest of the shops in its row, the bakery was also shuttered for the night.

"How do we get in?" Whispered the chomp.

"I dunno", responded the ice-cream mochi creating a gooey mess on his shoulder.

"That's what I brought you along for."

"You-" The chomp started saying in angry frustration, but thought better of it. Arguing was futile. They had to focus on the matter at hand. His mother would have been so proud of what a big, mature chomp he had become.

He walk towards the shutter and examined the material. It was made of a rock hard candy that could easily break a chomp's jaw for attempting to chomp it.

"A Jawbreaker Gate", the chomp mused out loud.

"The only way we can break through this is if we lick it."

"I'm too tiny to contribute to any significant slurping", Mo pointed out.

That was true. It would take too long if he slurped alone, and the owners would return at dawn. He would need a helping tongue.
