《New Escape》New Escape Chapter Twenty Nine

"Ughh, it seems that the treasury was cleared out long before we got here." I tell Maddy the bad news, but she doesn't seem to mind much.
"Oh well, it's fine I guess, I got these neat new daggers so I'm happy."
"Oh that's good, well I think we have been cooped up in this world for too long, how about we head back to the other world and visit a town or something."
"Okay, let's head down to the portal room then."
We begin back down the stairs before Maddy commands the avians to remain in the tower while we visit a town. A small army of humanoid avians would definitely draw a large amount of attention at almost any human town we go to. While Maddy commands her troops I advise my troop to keep themselves locked up separately until the final twenty four hours have passed. The group of birds moves quickly down the stairs to explore a bit more while Maddy and I head directly to the gateway directory.
"Erz! We seek to travel to a human city, is it possible to direct us specifically towards one?"
"Yes, it is possible for me to attempt to focus the target near a place you have been without being there. However I still do not know how focused this gateway will work. Since it hasn't been used for a long time it's focus is not very accurate so you may land in a place completely different."
"Oh well that's fine, as long as we land in a human territory we should be fine I guess. How do we get back to the tower without traveling through the door we originally came in at?"
"Now that you are the Tower Masters the second you go through the gateway a mark will appear on your hand. This mark allows you to use a return command, be warned though as this command cannot be used during combat. After a small cast time you will be teleported back to this room. The gateway has now been calibrated so you may now step through." As Erz says this the the floating orb's color that once constantly shifted now becomes a brilliant green.

"Okay sweet, shall we go then Maddy?" I look towards her and she nods lightly before we step up onto the platform into the orb.
A familiar feeling of weightlessness surrounds me again and I drift momentarily before appearing in the air, slowly floating down Maddy and I fall into a small patch of grass. I look around and find that we are in a small forest with rather sparse trees, when floating I noticed what appeared to be walls about a mile away. I look over Maddy to make sure she is fine after our first teleportation using the gateway and then follow her as she leads the way towards the city I pointed to.
"What do you plan to get at the city?" I make small talk as we travel.
"Ahh well I was planning to umm obtain some jewelry, maybe obtain a bit of gold. I also plan to take my anger out on someone after that physics lab we had to do today."
"Oh yes you plan to 'Obtain' things. I was quite annoyed by that lab as well, I fear for the fools that bother us inside the city." A dark smile creeps across my face as I think about the new poisons I created in my attempt to learn alchemy.
I check my equipment and store my staff into my space distorting bag. I realize that my staff is quite an odd tool and would most likely draw some unneeded attention. Luckily both Maddy and I's clothes are rather basic for our classes. After a twenty minute walk the massive walls come into view. This city is obviously much more secure than Rodenheim city that I first spawned into.
"I wonder why this city is so fortified." (FORTIFY!) I express my worry that this city is much more dangerous than previous areas that we have previously been to.
"Tch- if the walls are that big then there will probably be a lot of guards too." Maddy expresses her annoyance with the fact she won't be able to steal as much as she would like.

"Yes guards are generally an annoyance, oh I have something to give you before we head in." I dig through my bag and pull out a number of painted vials. I return the black vials to my bag and hand over the white painted vial to Maddy. "It's a potion of invisibility, I am not sure how long it will last because I have not tested it, but I produced it according to a recipe so it should work. I know you have wanted to turn invisible, and sadly such an item was not found in the armory, but hopefully you can make do with this for now." I pat her on the head twice as we walk through the tall gates.
"Thank you for the potion."
"No worries, I wouldn't have much of a use for it."
Wandering through the town for a small time we end up in a more deserted area. Walking down smaller more isolated streets we begin to walk past a group of around five or so twenty something men.
"Woo I'd hit that!" One of the guys calls out as Maddy walks in front of him.
"Piss off." Maddy turns around to spit harsh words at the rather immature man.
"Huh? Whatever you ugly b-" Before the earthworm like scum can finish whatever drivel he wished to convey about Maddy I quickly stop his breathing with my air manipulation.
'Hmmm, finally time to relieve some stress then I guess.' I put my hand in front of Maddy to display that I wish to take care of this trash.
"What the fuck is going on?!" One the other pieces of trash begin to speak up, but I of course quickly cut that off as well.
As the three attempt to catch their breath I allow a small amount of air into their lungs so they do not die too quickly. The scum begin to fall to their knees as their whole focus shifts to breathing.
"Now now calm down, you won't be dying that easily don't you worry." I kick the first waste of space onto his back and put pressure on his shoulders with my knees. "I have been looking to test this new concoction. If you wouldn't mind." I force the insect's mouth open and pour in the liquid contained within one of the black vials. I immediately stand up as the reaction begins to show.
With bulging eyes the parasitic waste of space begins convulsing strongly. His eyes begin to bleed along with his ears and nose.
"Hmmm, this nerve damage is much more than I expected. How am I supposed to torture someone if they go catatonic?" I record the results of the test inside my small journal and decide that the first one is over. "I do wonder how well this saber works, guess now is the best time to test it." I pull out the crimson sword and pierce it into his right shoulder.
"Scum shouldn't so easily speak such words to such a wonderful girl." I wiggle the sword around but he doesn't seem to react to it. "Oh well, [absorb]." Calling out the name of the sword's ability all the blood begins to disperse as a gas from his body and flow into the sword. With a strong tug I pull the blade from his shoulder.
"One test done, two to go." I look over Maddy who seems rather disappointed she didn't get to have any fun with them, but this is of course 'all in the name of science'.
