Arc 7 - ‘It’s Not Real’ - Part 4
Why is he doing this?
What do I do? I am surrounded by my own personalities. Some of them want to do good. Some of them want to hide from the world. Some of them want to destroy it.
“If you don’t want a personality, just kill it. Some of them, however, will put up a fight.” Said the old man in a hood and robes and wand. I hate this guy.
A newborn kid before me appears. That is not the right personality, so I remove it. To remove the personality, I have just had to kill it. Why is he doing this, I don’t know but I shall play his game for now.
Then a 1-year-old me appears. I don’t want him either because he is weak and is always shouting for someone to save him. The same goes for a few next years too. So, I remove them. I need to find the right personality. Which one is the right personality, I don’t know.
Then a little version of me in a school uniform appears. He is smiling and says, “the world is beautiful. Please, I want to see it.” I was about to punch him, which will destroy him, but I stop before the punch reaches him. If I keep this version behind, he might be good. I think what the old fool is trying to make me do is, to choose a personality that will benefit everyone. Me, the world and him.
Next one appears. He is also wearing a school uniform, but he is a little older. He looks up to me and to the rest of the personalities and has a confused look on his face. I think this was during my second year of primary school. I remove him too because he is weak and does not know anything.

While removing the next ones, I thought, what was wrong with my current personality. I seem to have emotions within me but what is wrong with the current one? Well, I think I should ask him.
“Hey, what’s wrong with my current personality?” I asked the old man who goes by the name of Noah Grayson now.
“Quite a few things.” He replied. “For starter, this version of you is annoying and is overly excited.”
Okay, so this version of me is overly excited. What’s wrong with that? Oh, well.
I remove all my personalities until I reach the one that was flying earlier. I am left with three other personalities. The version of me that was flying earlier above me was a little different. He had many different emotions within him and was more like the 5 years old me, the one that helped a little girl. But the problem with him is, he used his power for his own good. He removed precious memories from people and he wanted to use his power to only benefit him. I leave him aside for now.
If I leave them aside, they don’t attack but if I attack them, they will attack with everything they have got. Some of them put up a fight while others are happy to be destroyed. They have the same powers as me and have the same experience level as me. I don’t know how each year of my life is considered a different personality but I just cannot be asked to think about that now.
In front of me now is a version of me that left humanity behind. He did not see anything in them that he would stay behind for them and fight for them. He wants one thing and that is to increase his knowledge and increase his skill set. He has confined himself in one place for a year now and he is improving himself. He thinks he is doing this to save humanity from the coming war, even though he did not believe what William told him, but deep down he is just doing this because he does not like humans and wants to become more powerful because he thinks he is above everyone else. He has no emotions and he does not hold back.

He comes at me using his superspeed. Having the same powerset and same skill and experience level, allows me to fight him one-on-one. However, even for a split second if I do not fight him back, he can easily destroy me and becomes the dominant personality.
This version of me likes to play dirty. He has created many weapons and warsuits that he used for help. He just stood at the back behind his army and is sending them towards me. I think he wants to weaken me and then come at me with everything he has. The warsuits attack at once and the throw weapons of mass destruction. For some reasons I did not notice that the environment around us has changed. Now we are in the middle of nowhere, so he unleashed everything he has against me.
I dodge some of the weapons shot at me but I get hit by a few of them. However, they do not damage me a lot. But if it continues like this, I will surely get weakened by the time I fight the main boss.
I need help but who can help me. Just as I was thinking that I saw the two personalities that I left aside. Can get their help?
“Time out!” I said that to the old man. “Can these two here help me?”
“No,” replied the old pathetic fool. “Get creative.”
Get creative? How?
I have been focusing on dodging the whole time, how am I going to win? Should I go offensive now?

Mud's Mission
The story begins with an elderly hermit mage living on the outskirts of a labyrinth town. Invoking spellwork that is trivial for a mage of his caliber, he creates a simple mud automaton to aid him in household chores. However, in the middle of his efforts, something goes wrong; his ancient heart finally fails. Now, half complete and with limited understanding of the world, an artificial being of mud stirs. Despite its limitations, it has a mission to fulfill. The last instructions of a dying creator. "Defend my home, and my possessions." To the mechanical mind of Mud, only absolute perfection is acceptable when fulfilling the orders of The Master. Mud will make sure nothing in the universe will ever threaten The Master's home! --- This fiction contains RPG elements such as skills and levels. The protagonist has an inhuman mind and acts on instincts and preferences that are completely different from those of a normal human, and may at times fly in the face of common sense. The general tone is lighthearted, but there are some scenes with disturbing content such as mind control and references to torture. Join our Discord to discuss the novel or chat with the author.
