Arc 46 - Trial

Kiet appeared in the main battleship where his father, Iket was.

Without looking back to see who it was, Iket knew that his son had returned.

Kiet walked and stood next to his father, who was sitting on a chair and monitoring everything.

At that moment, Norse God showed in the main battlefield again. He started shooting lightning towards each battleship he could.

As Kiet said that, Iket looked up to him and saw his son smiling.

At that moment, someone else teleported in. It was Nazar.

“Let’s go for a walk, Iket.” Nazar said as he grabbed Iket by his left hand.

Before he could react, Nazar had slashed his hand and the door to his own dimension opened.

The other generals could not react in time either.

As soon as his father was gone, Kiet sat in the chair and said, “”

As he was saying that, he showed them a document on a small computer in his hand.

Vanaha Empire worked differently. After his father, the divine power would have passed down to Kiet anyway, but it could only be done by Mother. However, as Mother is not around, it means that he should not be able to take control.

As Iket’s advisor and bodyguard, a long time ago, he had advised his father to create new laws in which Kiet would take control if Iket went missing. His father did not accept it, but his father is not here right now to tell the troops that he is lying. He still has the document on the computer and it has his father’s signature, even if it is fake.

They said as they knelt before him.

Kiet just smiled.

As he said that, everyone left.

After a few minutes, he started a communication transmission between the other two.

“” Hial said.

Hial had used his royalty status to tell them that he is the only worthy of taking control. He even threatened them. He told them that they will be executed for treason if he is not given control. So, as part of the royal family, his word was much greater than a general.

“” Lian explained her situation.

The transmission was cut.

Kiet and Hial then ordered both of their troops to stand down.

When the Vanaha Empire and Duluria Empire stopped their attacks, Chochica Empire followed soon.

Another dimension:

This dark dimension was created by Nazar not long ago. There is nothing here. It is just darkness, but as the creator of this dimension, Nazar can control what happens to it.

Right now, Iket Xehz, Hoel, and Luan are sitting around a little table with four chairs.

They sitting down in confusion. There is no light or anything.

“” Iket muttered.

“” Hoel shouted.

“” Luan said slowly.

Then they all stopped talking. A light appeared around the table.

From the darkness, Nazar walked and stood next to the table.

He slammed both of his palms on the table, which made a noise.

“First thing first,” Nazar said as he looked at Hoel, who was to his left. “What was your plan for Earth?”

“Examining… and domination.”

“Were you really going to force Lucifer to attack you?”

“At first I did not believe anything like that, but when Eort and the others told me about the angel, I finally believed their stories.”

Nazar then sat down a chair.

“Now, answer me this question: why are you guys fighting one another?”

“This is an internal matter.”

“Shut the fuck up, bitch,” Nazar said to Iket. “Answer me: why are guys fighting one another?”

There was a little silence.

“His artificial angel destroyed a few of our planets. Then he said that the alliance is over.” Hoel said after a little while.

“That’s not the only reason. Our people have been in a false alliance and I freed us all. We always wanted to destroy one another, so you just needed an excuse.” Iket butted in.

“Well… my empire was attacked by the Death 100, who was working for Iket.”

“That was not part of the plan,” Iket said without hiding anything.

“This is so stupid.”

As Nazar said that, everyone looked at him.

“I mean who goes to war with another galactic empire just because you don’t like them and because your ancestors fought. This is so fucking stupid.” Nazar said as he leaned back on his chair and folded his hands behind his head.

“...”

“I am not here to stop your war. I just don’t want it on my doorsteps.” Nazar added.

“We certainly don’t want to do anything with Earth,” Luan said.

Nazar turned his gaze to his right, where Luan was sitting.

“Then why were you on Earth a few weeks ago.”

“Well… that was a universal matter and I went with others to try and solve it.”

Nazar then looked away from her annoyance.

“And what about you guys? What are you going to do with Earth?”

“I will destroy it.”

“I will destroy it.”

Both Iket and Hoel said in unison.

Nazar let out a sigh.

He then leaned forward towards the table.

“Then I will stop this pathetic war of yours before it reaches my doorsteps.”

Both Iket and Hoel chuckled.

“How?” Iket said while still having a smile on his face.

Nazar also chuckled, which confused the others.

“Then I will destroy your empires first.” Nazar paused and leaned back on his chair again. “I will destroy your quantum-based shields and let Duluria Empire raid it. Then Duluria Empire will raid Chochica Empire. Once they are the dominant one, I will make Outox Empire enter the war and destroy Duluria Empire.”

Iket laughed as Nazar spoke.

“You cannot destroy my shields.”

“And how are you even going to convince Outox Empire?” Hoel asked.

“I will just have to try and destroy it in your name.”

While they were talking, Luan came to a conclusion.

“I never wanted to be part of this war or anything, but when Iket attacked one of my planets, I could not back down and let it go. I thought I could change something. So, if Iket promises that he will leave us out, then I will gladly leave this pathetic war.”

Laun narrowed her eyes.

“And if we really wanted to be serious, these two empires combined cannot destroy us.”

“If you don’t want to be part of the war, then that’s perfect. You can go back and take your troops and never return.”

“...Okay.”

As she said that, Nazar teleported her out of this dimension.

Once she reached our dimension, she took control of her troops and returned to her empire.

Back in the unknown dimension, Iket and Hoel were not coming to any conclusions.

Nazar just listened to their bickering.

“Ah. I just remembered something. I also have Norse God and Reaper working for me. Those two can destroy both of you without hesitation.”

“Norse God?”

“Remember the thunders? Well, it is a being known as Norse God. He is pretty powerful.”

“...”

There was silence again.

“Well, I am winning anyway. So, I don’t care.”

“You are winning? Who said that?” Nazar looked Iket, who was sitting opposite him. “Until today Reaper was destroying your ships and weapons giving Duluria Empire a chance. And today, it is Norse God who keep destroying your stuff without break.”

“Reaper?”

“Yes. The Reaper. It’s a long story so ask Kiet.”

“Kiet… that bastard.”

“Have you ever heard the phrase ‘Like father, like son’?’”

“No,” Iket slowly replied.

“Well, it means that the son is like his father. You are a bastard and so is he.”

After a long time of their bickering, Nazar just gives up.

“Peace talks are so fucking boring and hard,” Nazar muttered while still leaning back on his chair.

Nazar then stood up.

He slammed his fists on the table, making noise. This helped Nazar get their attention.

“You know what? I can no longer handle this. I will leave you two here and leave this dimension. I will tell them that I killed you too and your empires will be passed on to your children.”

Nazar turned his back towards them, he was about to start walking.

“So, you either stop this pathetic war or I will leave you both in here.”

Of course, both of them did not say anything. So, Nazar just left them and came back to our dimension.

Nazar appeared in the battleship where Kiet was stationed.

“Well… those old guys are like kids. They kept arguing who is going to win and who has better toys.”

“What happened to them?”

“I left them in a dimension I created and I think after a few days they will either kill one another or will come to an agreement.”

“If one of them die, it will not be good.”

“Don’t worry, I will stop them before their death.”

There was a little silence.

“Does the troops really want to fight?”

“...No. And father knew about it, but he does not care. It is the same for Duluria Empire.” Kiet paused. “Majority of the people prefer the alliance. They had many benefits that would not be possible without the alliance. However, our leaders want nothing but bloodshed.”

Nazar let out a long and deep sigh.

“I just hate everything about politics. They are so boring.”

“...They can be fun sometimes.”

“No. They are never fun. They are anything but fun.”

Nazar then called Norse God into the battleship too.

They all took a seat and watched the battleships from a monitor.

“Man, it’s like being inside a Star Trek film.”

“I thought space battles would be much better in real life, but they are not that great.”

Nazar, Eddie and Kiet just sat down and watched as nothing happened. After a few minutes, out of nowhere, both the Vanaha Empire and Duluria Empire started shooting on one another again.

“What the hell?”

Nazar said as he stood up.

“What are you doing?”

“It’s… it's not me.”

Kiet then picked up a communicator.

Kiet got an answer from all the battleships and they were all saying the same thing.

He then got a call from Hoel.

“”

Before Hoel could even say anything, Kiet spoke.

“”

“”

Nazar’s eyes widened. It was not because of the war, but because of something else.

“Magic...?” Nazar muttered.

Eddie stood up.

“What?”

“I can feel a tremendous amount of magic somewhere close by.”

“How can you tell it is magic?”

“I can understand all forms of energies, but the ones I cannot understand are magical energies.”

“Explain what do you mean by ‘understand’?”

Nazar sighed.

“Magical energies have different properties. As beings of this dimension, we cannot manipulate it as we do not understand their configuration.” It was Kiet who explained it to Eddie.

Kiet then tapped a few buttons to try and take remote control of the battleships.

“Anyway, where do you feel it from?”

“The energies are all around us. They are messing up with my senses.”

“Damn it...” Kiet muttered.

“Anyway, leave the control to me. I can manage it.”

“Are you sure?” Kiet said as he stood back.

Nazar then placed his hand on the computer and his eyes lit up with yellow energy.

It took him a minute or so to take control of the battleship he was on.

After a little while, he was already connected to the network and shut off its remote control. The ships could no longer be controlled remotely.

He then teleported out and did the same to Duluria Fleet.

When he came back to the battleship where Eddie and Kiet were, he found out that a few battleships were destroyed and many of the soldiers were killed. The ships could not protect them for some reason.

“And I found the location of where the ship was being controlled from.”

As Kiet said, all three of them teleported out, using the ship’s teleportation.

“The moon?” Nazar said slowly.

“Yes. I tracked the signal here.”

After a little while, the person known as Mother appeared.

Nazar and the others did not find her, she just became visible again.

“Damn it.” The Mother spoke in English. “Tch. I thought I could have fun for a little longer.”

“Mother?”

“It’s your mother?” Eddie said.

Nazar just shook his head, but Eddie was still confused.

“Why did you do this?”

“I was not going to do this, but then this Human had to appear.”

Nazar cut into their conversation.

“Why do you reek of demonic magic?”

As Nazar said that, both Kiet and Eddie looked him in shock.

Mother let out a long sigh.

“I heard that you were powerful and smart but you seem like a complete idiot.”

She then threw away the small PDA in her hand.

“I thought you would notice when we first met.”

“First met?”

“A few days ago.”

Nazar thought for a second.

(She did not have any magical energies surrounding her on that day.)

“I thought you would notice, but you did not seem to care. You just wanted to leave and go somewhere.” She paused as she scratched his chin. “Oh wait, that was someone else. I placed them there instead of myself and controlled them from very far. There was still a little magical energy surrounding him, so I thought you might figure it out."

“So, why do you want this war to continue?” Nazar asked in annoyance.

“Well, it is my trial. I have been planning this for more than 10 years now.”

“Trial?”

Mother then transformed into the faceless woman.

As Eddie saw her, he held his index finger towards her.

“She is the one who gave me my powers.” Eddie said.

Nazar was confused now.

“And I also created other superhumans.”

If she had a face, she would be grinning now.

Nazar’s eyes widened in shock.

Without thinking about it, he approached the faceless woman before him at a speed faster than the speed.

The woman was now being strangled by her throat.

“WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?” Nazar shouted at her in anger.

“I created those superhumans and told them to keep you busy.” The woman spoke. However, she was not struggling, even though she was being held by the throat. “However, they went against my plan and had to kill that special lady of yours.”

Nazar then threw her away.

But… she did not even have a scratch on her.

She stood up as if nothing had happened.

Even though she did not have a mouth, they all heard a laugh.

And Nazar… he was enraged.

As Kiet saw the anger in his eyes, he backed away.

Eddie was going to power up, but Kiet stopped him.

Nazar held the woman from the throat once again.

“WHY? WHY DID YOU GIVE THEM POWERS?”

Nazar shouted on top of his lungs, but the woman replied very calmly.

“Because it was part of my plan. To keep you busy.”

“WHAT IS YOUR PLAN?”

“Hmm… Fall of big empires. I want to destroy all of them.”

Kiet could not believe what was happening before him. He always knew that Mother was a kind person. Even though he noticed the change a few weeks ago, but he did not pay a lot of attention to it.

“As I said, this is my trial. And I still have a chance of succeeding.”

“...”

“...”

“...”

(I just have to squeeze her throat a little and she is done… NO!)

- Just... don’t kill anyone anymore. And don’t play God anymore. Please? Can you promise me that?

Nazar clicked his tongue and let go of the woman.

He then calmed down a little.

“I was told that you are a little too aggressive but I didn’t believe him.” She paused. “No wonder why Zerathos was so wary of you.”

Nazar was looking down until he heard that one word he never wanted to hear; ‘Zerathos’.

His eyes widened with surprise and shock.

“Ze...rathos…?” Nazar muttered.

The woman before him took a different shape. It was Aarin.

“Yes. Zerathos the demon.”

The other two looked confused but Nazar was a little angry.

“Then I will reveal who I really am.”

She then changed into something else. She then revealed her… no his true form.

It was a 5 M tall crimson demon. He had grey wings. He had red eyes. He was…

“Demon…?” Kiet muttered under his breath.

Eddie looked confused.

“Behold the true form Bur’goth. And this is my trial to becoming a high-class demon.”
