Arc 56 - Dragon

Norse God. A human with the power of Norse Gods. He has based his powers on Norse Gods across different forms of media and the original mythology.

Right now, he is utilising all of his powers as the Lightning God Thor. He is attacking Venice, Italy. The city is under attack by uncontrollable thunder, rain, wind, typhoon and even a tsunami is heading towards the city.

Nazar is at a crossroad. Should he go and pursue the remaining members of Death 100, go after Eddie (?) and snap him out of it, or stop all the disasters?

“Tch. No choice,” Nazar muttered. “I have to do all of them.”

He moved towards Eddie (?) and knocked him out. Of course, he will back within a second… at least that’s what Nazar thought. When they fought on Planet Xiem’s moon, Eddie (?) was not using his full power. Right now, he has gone beyond all his limits and the darkness has taken over him once more.

“I cannot see your attacks,” Eddie (?) said in a cold tone, “but I have the power of Norse Gods. And what do you have?”

“Uh... I am basically Superman?”

Eddie (?) laughed.

“Then, I will be your Doomsday.”

“New 52 or Post-Crisis?”

In Post-Crisis universe of DC universe, Doomsday and Superman killed each other. In New 52, Superman ripped Doomsday in half.

Eddie (?) did not answer.

Eddie (?) threw lightning towards Nazar but it backfired. Nazar had manipulated the lighting and threw it back at Norse God. The power of the lightning had been increased tenfold.

“Arghh!!” Eddie (?) shouted in agony.

“Now, to take care of that--”

Before Nazar could finish his sentence, the wind speed increased. It increased to a point where the buildings started to shake.

“Oi, you are really going overboard with this one.”

However, he did not receive any response from Norse God. He is like what he used to be before being saved by Nazar.

Nazar also has weather manipulation. So, he tried to reduce the speed of the wind and typhoon. As he was doing that, Eddie (?) flew by him and punched him in the face.

“Tch. You really are annoying.”

“I am a God.”

“Powered by a demon.”

The temperature of the city dropped to -20 degrees.

Nazar sighed.

“Do… do you really think that low temperature will stop me?”

Eddie (?) did not listen. He just threw uncontrollable lightning towards Nazar, which had no effect on him.

Nazar moved as fast as he could and punched Eddie (?) in the face. Then in the stomach. Then a kick to in the sides, which threw him away.

Nazar did not stop. He moved in once more and punched him in the chest, which sent him flying up. Then he raised above Eddie (?) and kicked him, which sent him flying down.

Once Eddie (?) hit the ground, a few bones in his body broke.

However, they were healed instantly.

Nazar did not give him a chance to recover. He went in and fried Norse God’s face with his heat vision. He then froze it using temperature control. To make matters worse for Eddie (?), Nazar used his sonic scream to shout in Eddie’s (?) ear. His ears started to bleed.

Before Eddie (?) could recover, Nazar, punched him in the face over and over again. Eddie’s (?) face was all battered up. His skin was removed and you could see the muscles that made his face.

Nazar stopped there. He then flew up to try and deal with the coming tsunami. However, he was stopped.

He was punched in the face by one of the Death 100 members.

Nazar regained his balance in mid-air.

Nazar looked at his opponent. He found something unexpected. It was…

“Dragon?!” Nazar shouted. His voice had a little excitement in it too.

The dragon (?) looked like a dragon from storybooks. The colour the dragon was red. The dragon (?) was not very large but it was not very small either. If it was sunny, it would have covered a few city blocks under its shadow.

“Solace?”

- Her name is Anima. She can become any being from the animal kingdom. It does not matter if it is real or not. -

The dragon (?) shot fire towards Nazar.

He evaded the fire with pretty ease.

“Solace what’s wrong with Eddie?”

- I can sense a tremendous amount of demon magic around him. It happened immediately after he came in contact with the massive energy outburst a little earlier. -

“Damage to the city?”

- Thousands of casualties. The number of deaths unknown. Ten million Euros in damage. -

Nazar sighed.

Nazar’s hand twitched and Alice appeared next to him. Nazar was floating, so when Alice was teleported in, she immediately started to fall over. If she was an angel, she should have been able to float and fly without the need for her wings. If she was a demon, then she cannot fly or float without her wings. But as Alice is both, her physiology is messed up. Sometimes she can float and fly without her wings, but sometimes she cannot. Right now, she cannot.

Nazar saw that Alice was falling over, so he rushed in and caught her. He then created an energy barrier around her, which she can use to float.

“There is no time to explain, but can you do something about Norse God?”

“...?” Alice looked confused.

“I think his dark side comes out when he comes in contact with demonic energy. So, can you do something about that?”

“I… I am not sure.”

Nazar slashed his hand and a portal opened to a dark dimension. This was the dimension created by Nazar.

Alice looked confused.

The dark dimension turned into a grassland.

Alice raised her eyebrows.

“Please go in there and help him.”

“...Okay.”

“Don’t worry. I blocked all magic for him in that dimension but you should be fine. And he will not be able to use his weather related powers.”

Alice entered through the portal. Nazar opened a portal under Eddie and he went into there too.

He then teleported next to Lian and healed her.

A portal opened next to a confused Lian.

“Go through there. Help Alice find a way to fix Eddie. Or at least take care of him. And make sure to not use demonic magic at all.”

“I cannot use--”

“She can. So, just go there and help her, okay?”

Lian nodded and went through the portal.

“Now, then, let’s take care of the weather.”

Nazar flew high above the clouds. He waved his hand a little and the sunny weather appeared in the city once more.

He flew down towards the tsunami. However, the dragon (?) was waiting for him.

The dragon (?) flapped its wings and shot towards the speeding Nazar. For some reason, it had gained a massive upgrade in terms of speed.

It broke the speed barrier, which leads to the destruction of closeby windows.

Nazar dodged the head-on attack by the dragon (?).

People on the streets tried to move away but they were getting caught in one trouble after another.

(Power limiters off.)

As soon as he removed the power limiters, his eyes were replaced by pure energy. It did not have a specific colour because it constantly changed from yellow to green to red to blue. It did not stay the same.

Instead of attacking the dragon (?) physically, he shot a few energy bolts towards it. Of course, the dragon (?) evaded it with ease. Even though it was a massive dragon (?), it was very agile.

But… Nazar knew this would happen. The energy bolts changed its direction. It came back towards the dragon (?) and attacked it from the back. As soon as it did, the dragon (?) vanished and instead a humanoid figure started to fall down.

Nazar had removed Anima’s powers temporarily. Removing them forever takes a long time to achieve but to do it temporarily, it should take a few seconds.

Nazar caught the person who was falling down. The woman had a blue skin. She was shorter than Nazar. She had no hair. Her eyes were massive and so were her lips. She slightly looked like a human.

Nazar knocked her out with a punch to the face when they landed. Of course, he did not hit her with full strength, because that would have killed her.

He then moved towards tsunami and started floating above the tsunami.

Nazar looked at the massive waves that were coming down towards the city. It was only a few miles away from its target.

Nazar focused all his energies on telekinisis.

“Ngh,” Nazar made a little sound of pain when he pushed the tsunami back.

It worked but only for a second. It did not stop it completely.

He then used temperature manipulation and froze the water. The tsunami waves just froze and did not move.

Nazar released a sigh of relief.

He then went back towards his enemies.

Graviti increased the gravity of the city as soon as Nazar entered it. Of course, he had no trouble against it, but the people were being hurt and the buildings were being damaged.

“Damn it,” Nazar muttered.

He moved towards Graviti. She managed to increase the gravity to a point where Nazar found it hard to move.

He fell to the ground.

“So..lace.”

- Just a second, Master. Just making the final calculations. -

“Ok...ay.”

Nazar tried to stand up, but she increased the gravity below him.

Due to Nazar’s insane power, Graviti stopped manipulating the gravity of the whole city and just focused on manipulating the gravity around Nazar.

- Activating anti-gravity bubble around her. -

As Solace said that, a bubble appeared around Graviti. She was confused as she lost control of her power.

“In that small bubble, gravity does not exist. And even if you try to control the gravity outside of the bubble, it will not work. And you cannot leave the bubble because it will follow you around to the end of the universe.”

Nazar stood up. He walked towards her at high speed. He did not say anything but instead kicked Graviti in the sides. She was thrown away but she did not leave the bubble.

Graviti stopped when she hit a wall. She was unconscious.

Nazar flew away at a fast speed and found that Reaper and Meltdown, two powerhouses who can take down planets with ease has taken care of most of the Death 100. Most other Death 100 members are powerful enough to do a lot of damage to a planet, but Reaper and Meltdown were the top dogs in that team, besides someone like Rewind.

Nazar landed next to Reaper.

“They are a lot weaker than they used to be. I want to know what Outox Empire did to them,” Reaper said.

“They used to be stronger than this?” Nazar sounded surprised.

“Yes,” Reaper replied quickly.

“Where is that frog-like man?”

“Professor Death? I have been looking for him.”

“And Darkness?”

“Meltdown took care of her.”

“Nice,” Nazar said with a smile. “Let’s round them up in one place and wait for Kiet and the others to take them.”

“Okay.”

Reaper and Nazar moved all unconscious members of Death 100 to a place where they were not close to buildings. Some of the buildings in the city had taken in a massive amount of damage and people were hurt. Nazar had suggested that they place them next to the beach. Most people had already left that place due to that tsunami.

Sometime later, all of them were rounded up. Nazar even brought down Bloodlust and placed her next to them. Nazar then, with the help of Solace and Meltdown, created an energy-based cage for them. It was a cage that nullified most of their powers and they could not escape from it.

“I cannot find Professor Death anywhere,” Reaper said as he landed next to Nazar.

Nazar sat down in the sand.

“Solace, make sure to not let them gain consciousness.”

- Okay, Master. -

Nazar sighed.

“Now the world knows about aliens. I guess it was time for us to stop asking that stupid question.”

“Can I ask a favour?”

Nazar looked up at Reaper.

“What is it?”

“When we capture Professor Death, let me kill him.”

“Why?”

“He killed someone close to me. It was… my wife.”

“Okay. Do as you like...” Nazar paused before continuing, “...but let me play with him for a little while. Okay?”

“Fine by me.”

“Solace. Have you--”

Nazar trailed off. Someone talked behind him and Reaper. They both looked back.

“It looks like we lost this time,” Professor Death said. “You have to know, we were weakened by the devils at Outox Empire.”

Nazar stood up.

“What were you doing on Earth?”

“Nothing. We just wanted to stay here and restore our energies.”

“And your plan for Earth is?”

“Earth is a cosmic abomination. It is a planet that everyone wants to get rid off or want to control for their own good. Earth can answer so many cosmic questions for them… but I don’t need those answered. So, I really couldn’t care less.”

“Then why choose Earth? There are planet--”

“Yes. Yes, there are. But no one would found us on Earth. How did you do it anyway?”

“Weq was able to follow your energy signature.”

“Are you going to give us to those devils again?”

“Yes. I really couldn’t care less about what happens to you or your friends. I just want you of the picture.”

“Hm… I see. So, there is no need to fight. I am the last one standing.”

Reaper and Meltdown listened to their conversation.

“So, what do you know about me?” Nazar asked.

“Your powers seem limitless. And when I analysed your energies, I found out that you were not really trying to struggle against us, were you? On that day, you let us take you in. Why?”

“Because I thought you guys will really be able to kill me. And you did. But I did not like that place, so I came back to the land of the living.”

“I see,” Professor Death nodded. “You are-- no, you were like me in many ways.”

“Ah?”

“We both wanted something but we could not find it. You have found yours but I am still looking for mine.”

“And what is it that you desire?”

“Fear, pain and screams. Not of others but mine.”

“...?”

“I know it sounds confusing. I know. You see, when I was young, I was beaten to death nearly every night for 10 years or so. In that pain and screams, I found friends. I thought they were the only things that will never leave me behind… but over time, I became immune to the pain. I stopped fearing everything. Pain could not do anything against me.”

“I tried to scream but it was nothing. It was not the friend I had lost. I tried fighting against the worst of the worst but they could not do anything against me, either.” Professor Death added. “And you wanted something similar, right? You wanted to end everything. You wanted to die because life had become too boring for you due to your powers, right?”

“Yes,” Nazar replied slowly.

“Do you still feel the same?”

“No.”

“That’s good. I am glad that you found what you always longed for.”

Nazar found himself confused now.

“I cannot die myself. Can you tell me what you saw there?”

“I… I saw nothing but darkness. I did not go to hell or heaven but instead went a place they call the Void.”

“The Void? Hm… I have heard of it before.”

“Really?”

“Yes. It was in a legend I read about a hundred years ago. In that legend, a powerful being died and then returned after a while. He told a story about a place that was nothing but darkness. No sound. No light. No cold nor warmth. The legend called it Void, too.”

“Who was he?”

“I don’t know. No one knows his name. He is lost in history. I have only read it in a book and heard his tale from people.”

“I see.”

“I did not believe it but now that you told me the same thing, then it must be true.”

While Nazar and Professor Death were talking, he did not notice the humanoid meteor that is coming towards him at high speed. It was Brawn.

Brawn was thrown into the moon but he found his way back from there. And now he was coming down like a meteor.

“I want to ask another question.”

“What is it?”

“How did you get your powers?”

Nazar thought for a little while.

“I don’t know… but I do know this. I had powers from the moment of my creation. I remember every single second while I was in my mother’s womb. I ‘saw’ myself go from two atoms into a baby over time. That’s the only thing I know. I am not sure where or how I got my powers --”

Then Nazar remembered something.

When the Universe-11 Nazar came to this universe, he had told Nazar that he found the secret of their powers. However, he has not found the time to visit him.

“I really need to find out why or how,” Nazar added.

“I see. It is a little disappointing.”

“What about you? Reaper told me you are very smart. Is that an--”

“No. It is not an ability. It is… something I have. Something I was born with, just like you. I have been able to turn simple shackles into something magnificent. I can use water to poison someone with.”

Brawn was coming closer and closer towards the city. It was directly above Nazar and the others. He was starting to burn up.

“If I had an ability, I would have been… different.”

“...?”

While Nazar and Professor Death were talking, Reaper kept the leash on other members of Death 100. Meltdown was helping as well. Some of them were trying to escape from the cage. They seem a little mindless? They were attacking like animals unlike before.

Nazar knew that Reaper, Meltdown and Solace can keep them down, so he focused solely on Professor Death.

“My people… everyone on my planet had powers. I was the first powerless. Because of that, I was abused for years. Once I got out, I killed them all.”

Nazar raised his eyebrows.

“So, when I said we were similar, I also meant that we are ready to destroy everything, just so we can achieve our goals.” Professor Death paused. “But you are different now.”

“Different? How?”

“Let’s see… you have allied yourself with people like Reaper and Meltdown. And I am pretty sure you have close ties to Vanaha Empire and other empires. Wasn’t Vanaha Empire the one who used us to kill you?”

“Our universe is different. Things are different. Threats for us are higher than ever. We were just attacked by a demon. So, I cannot waste an opportunity to work with them. They have the knowledge and the power to keep the universe running just a little more.”

“Do you really think they will not betray you?”

“Hmm… I am sure they will. I am sure they are planning on how to betray me. But it does not mean I am not ready for them. I have made many mistakes in my life but there is one mistake I will not make. I will not blindly trust anyone around me. I might show that I trust them, but I don’t. I am just being cautious.”

“I see,” Professor Death looked around and sighed. “Well, I guess I have no choice but to surrender. It is not like I can do anything, right?”

Nazar walked towards Professor Death. He was going to bring him into the cage. But he saw Professor Death’s face being ripped in half with a smile.

Nazar paused. He looked around him to see what was different.

However, it was too late.

WHOOOM!

Brawn landed like a meteorite. He landed next to Nazar, but the impact could be felt for miles. Closeby buildings started to collapse. Within seconds, they were on the ground. Other nearby buildings started to lose their footing. First the wind and now this impact from Brawn.

As soon as Brawn landed, Nazar did not care who it was. He entered light speed and evacuated everyone from the buildings that were about to be collapsed. He also made sure to move anyone else who might get hurt with rubbles.

About a minute later, when Nazar clapped his hands at supersonic speed, the dust was removed from that area. There was a massive crater next to the beach. And Brawn was standing at the middle of it.

Nazar was kind of glad that they were next to the beach because if they were somewhere else, things would have been different.

He was about to shoot himself towards Brawn as fast as he could but he saw something else.

A jet was falling towards the city. More specifically in the middle of the city.

When Brawn was coming down, he had made contact with the jet. However, the jet lost its balance a little later.

Nazar flew up and caught the jet. The pilot was still inside it. She was trying to take control of it.

Nazar sent her a telepathic message.

(“Eject!”)

The woman looked confused.

So, Nazar had no choice but to control her and eject her.

Once that happened, Nazar threw the jet towards the sea. He released a sigh of relief but then he found himself worrying again.

A small piece of the jet was still coming towards the city.

It was less than 100 meters above the ground and it was coming down fast.

While he was looking down, he saw someone there. He saw Laura. She looked worried.

(Should I let her die? I mean, she is a demon or a cosmic entity. But if she does die, then I will know she was a human and not a demon. I guess-- damn it.)

Nazar flew down as fast as he could.

The small part of the jet was just 2 meters above Laura and it was coming down towards her fast. She frantically raised her hands above her head.

As it was about to hit her, Nazar landed next to her and punched the small part of jet away. Of course, it was too fast for Laura to see.

“What are you doing out here? It’s mayhe--”

“Marco. H-he is missing. I cannot find him anywhere around.”

Nazar used his telepathy and other powers to see around but he found Marco in her home?

“He is in your home?”

“Huh? I left there a few minutes and he was not there...” She said slowly.

“Oh, but he is there now. You should stay indoors for now. Aliens are around.”

Before Laura could answer, Nazar had already teleported her into her home.

Nazar then went back to where Brawn was. Brawn was a strong opponent to everyone because of his durability. There is nothing that can hurt him.

Nazar landed in front of Brawn.

“Your small tricks won’t work, weakling.”

“I know.”

Reaper, Meltdown and Solace were too bust keeping the other Death 100 members under the cage. They all started acting weird.

Can Nazar really stop Brawn with brute strength?
