Arc 58 - God

Monday, 29th of July 2019:

It was noon and Nazar was working on building something in the living room.

Emma entered the room.

“What is that?”

“I am trying to build a better teleporter for Eddie?”

“Eddie?”

“Norse God.”

“Oh,” Emma said. “So, how did you meet him?”

“Well, when I went to Vanaha space, I saw him attacking people randomly. I beat the crap out of him and then removed the other ‘personality’ from his mind.” Nazar paused for a second. “However, it returned yesterday and nearly destroyed an entire city.”

Emma turned on the TV. It was a news channel and it was playing a report about yesterday’s incident.

“- Are we alone in this universe? This was the question we have been asking ourselves for centuries and we finally have an answer. No, we are not alone. Yesterday, a group of aliens attacked Venice, Italy for unknown reasons. We were glad that Norse God was there to help stop those alien menaces. -”

Emma sighed.

“Why are they always downplaying you?”

“Who cares about what a reporter says.”

“- He was also accompanied by Nazar, who helped in stopping the aliens. Maybe he should have just stayed away. If he was not there, Norse God would have taken care of them without a lot of damage to the city. Because of Nazar, the city was nearly destroyed. -”

Nazar chuckled.

“Well, the good thing is, they don’t know that most of the damage was done by Norse God.”

“- And he even threatened everyone. We have this amateur video recording where he is threatening everyone. -”

“Change the channel please.”

“And here I thought you didn’t care about reporters.”

“I don’t care. An anime is starting soon.”

“Oh?”

She changed the channel anyway.

- Master, there is a problem. -

“Hm? What is it?”

- There are two other beings on Earth, besides you, who share the same energy signature as you. -

“Huh?”

- It has been for a while now. I tried to analyse it but I couldn’t but for some reason, I can do it now. And also when I tried to tell you, I could not. I was forced into a shutdown if I even said a single word. -

“What?”

- The energy signatures are in Venice, Italy. -

Nazar stood up.

- I already sent you the coordinates. -

“Nazar, what does she mean by it?”

“I don’t know but it looks like someone who has the same powers as me. I need answers and they might be able to provide me with some.”

“Just be careful.”

“Okay,” Nazar said as he vanished into thin air.

He appeared in the most unlikely place. It was Laura’s house.

“What…?” He tapped his left palm and a small screen appeared. “Solace, are these the right coordinates?”

“Yes, they are.”

It was not Solace who replied.

As soon as Nazar saw the figure before him, he started to tremble in fear. Sweat started to drip from his face, too.

It was a man in his 50s. He had grey hair and brown eyes. He was shorter than Laura. Next to him, a woman appeared. She had shoulder-length dark hair, with a little grey in it. Her eyes were dark green.

… This is what Laura and Marco and everyone else saw but Nazar saw something else. It was a being made of pure energy. It did not have a form like a man or a woman. It did not have a form of a child or adult.

“You AI nearly tracked me a few times… but I had to manipulate it,” the energy being said. It’s voice was neither a man’s or a woman’s. Neither a child’s or adult.

“Who are you?” Nazar sounded angry.

Laura walked into the living room too. And so did Marco. She seemed happy but once she saw Nazar, she was confused.

“Nazar? Wh-what are you doing here?”

“Who is this person?” Nazar asked.

“So, you did not even pay attention to who you were killing?”

“Huh?”

“That’s my parents.”

“Parents…?” Nazar muttered.

He looked between Laura and the being in front of him. She could see two but he could see only one.

“He… they are not your par--”

“Why are you here anyway?”

Nazar then looked at the being in front of him,

He could easily leave everything behind and give them a happy family… but who or what was this energy being? And why did it look like he was expecting Nazar? And why did they share the same energy signature?

“Let’s cut to the chase. Who are you?”

“I wanted to waste some time on playing with you before revealing myself… but I guess it is pointless, you abomination.”

(It’s power levels… they are off the charts.)

Nazar did not really pay any attention to his comment.

“Before I tell you something, I will reveal a little secret to you.”

“Secret?”

(Same level as Lucifer.)

“Do you know who killed your friend Emily?”

Nazar’s eyes widened.

“Yes. It was that--”

“But you are wrong,” said the energy being in a mocking tone.

“I saw her memories--”

“It was Marco who killed your precious friend. I then manipulated her and everyone else’s memories to think she did it.”

“No...”

“You killed an innocent woman. A woman who never done anything wrong.”

“But...she…I….”

Laura looked at Marco.

“What is papa talking about?”

“I did it. It was revenge for losing so much,” he did not have a sign of regret in his tone. And Nazar understood. He talked to Laura before without any regret, too.

"And he killed so many more innocent people," the being added.

Laura’s eyes widened with horror and shock. And those words stabbed into Nazar’s very core.

“And I told him to do so because I wanted to test something out. Without Emily, every other Nazar becomes powerless. She is the source of their power. So, I wanted to see what affects her death would have on you.” The energy being paused for a second. “Of course, if she made you lose power then, I would have brought her back. But she did not have that kind of effects on you.”

“Power...source?”

Nazar did not know what to say.

“Tch. I was going to use her too but it pointless now,” the energy being said as it pointed towards Laura.

The being revealed itself to Laura and Marco. It was not their parents but a being made of pure energy.

Nazar’s knees started to lose strength.

“Why? Why? Why did you do it? Why did you kill her? With your powers, you could kill me forever? Why kill her? Why use him?” Nazar muttered.

Nazar did not even notice that he was losing strength from his legs.

He was falling down to his knees without his control.

“Why you ask? I just told you. It was an experiment. And the answer to other questions... well, it certainly made things fun, didn’t it?”

The being turned around towards Marco, whose spirit has been shattered. He thought his parents had come back but all he saw now was a being who he couldn’t even tell how it looked like. Did it have a face? A nose? A mouth?

The being laughed as it saw those crushed around him.

It walked closer towards Nazar.

“Do you know why you lost your powers the other day?”

Nazar looked at the person (?) before him.

“It was Marco.”

The being smiled. It did not have a face but something appeared that resembled a smile.

“I gave him power. I wanted him to see if he could mess with your powers. And it worked.”

The man placed its hand on Nazar’s chin. The hand was made of different forms of energies. Some energies that Nazar knew and some other forms that he did not.

“Do you know who healed you?”

Nazar did not answer.

“It was me. I need you at your full power. I want you to submit yourself to me.”

“Why reveal yourself now?”

“I wanted to test you before revealing myself. I wanted to test how powerful you were and how powerful you could become. I was going to wait for a year, or even centuries to see what you are capable of… but you should me yesterday. So, I stopped hiding.”

“...?” Nazar looked confused. He did not raise his head, but the being before him could tell that he was confused.

“I saw how much your powers increased when you removed your limiters. And you are the one who can make help me achieve my goals.”

As the beings said that, it started to laugh. A sinister laugh echoed through the room.

“Wh-who are you?” Laura shouted.

The energy being moved his hand on Nazar’s face and blood started to drip from his face. A massive cut had appeared on Nazar’s face.

Nazar did not pay any attention to it.

“I am a god.”

If someone told her those words a few months ago, she would have laughed at them. But she knows about what Nazar, a mere human had done. And this being? It made Nazar tremble in fear.

“A… god?” Laura muttered.

“Yes. I am a god. A being who is so powerful that Lucifer would not even attack carelessly.”

“Who are you really?” Nazar forced these words out.

“I am your creator. I am your god.”

Nazar looked up to the god before him.

“It is true, you are an abomination but I am still your god. I am still your creator. I am...”

Nazar listened carefully.

He wanted his questions answered but it created even more questions for him.

The god before him smiled. A smile appeared. A sinister smile appeared on a mouthless and faceless head.

“I have been called many things over the course of my life.”

Nazar listened carefully.

He did not think. He just listened.

“The Second One. The Ultimate Destroyer. The Bringer of Angels. The Bringer of Death.”

Nazar listened in confusion.

“Because I never really had a name, I am known as the Nameless One.”

Nazar’s eyes widened in shock. He has heard this name before. He first heard it from Lucifer.

“What…?”

“Do you know why angels were created?”

Nazar did not give an answer.

“There existed a being known as the Ultimate Creator. God. The Supreme One. If there is good, there shall also be evil. If there is creation, there shall also be destroyed. His polar opposite is me. The Nameless One. The Ultimate Destroyer.”

Nazar looked at him in confusion.

“The Creator came to existence before me. Once he did, he already began his creation. He created a light in the vast darkness. That light was the universe. This universe,” It said as he pointed a finger below.

Laura and Marco no longer knew what was going on.

“If I fought my polar opposite, he would win. He was before me, so he has one thing which I do not. Unlimited power. He is Omnipotent and I am not. So, because I became jealous of his power, I went towards his creation. I wanted to destroy it. If I did that, then I will die happily.”

The god before Nazar took a long pause.

“However, he cheated. He created Lucifer. The first angel. He made him so powerful, that he was able to defeat me. Of course, Lucifer has lost most of his powers because he became a rebel. As he lost his power, I gained more power.”

“...”

“In each universe, I implanted beings. Pawns. Beings who will become extremely powerful after I activate them. Nazar.”

Nazar’s eyes widened.

“Across every reality, a Nazar is my pawn and my creation. I power him up and I get his power. The more powerful they are, the stronger I get. I did what the Supreme One did to Lucifer.”

“...?”

Seeing the confusion on Nazar’s face, the Nameless One wanted to expand on another point he made.

“When Lucifer was created, he was extremely powerful. And his powers increased even further when more angels were made. Every single angel’s power was added to Lucifer. He is the combination of every single angel across the multiverse, which is why he never killed a single angel. The Creator removed that link between them and Lucifer was weakened, but recently he found a way to go back to his former self. However, this time, I am above him.”

Nazar looked surprised.

“Now to get back to my original point. I created my Nazars and powered them. I personally went there and activated them. Their very existence powers me up. They are basically my food,” it took a small pause. “But you? You are an abomination.”

“...”

“You were activated without my help. You were activated without my permission. But I am not complaining. You have more power than all the others. You might not power me up like the others, but I can suck your energies dry. Once I do that, it will give me a massive upgrade.”

Nazar’s lips moved but words did not come out of it.

“You should be proud, abomination. You are still useful to me.”

The Nameless One then held it’s right palm above Nazar’s head.

As soon as it did, Nazar started to cry in agony and pain.

“ARGHHHH!!!”

Something started to take form in Nameless One’s palm. After a minute, it looked like a ball made of nanites.

Nazar’s head ripped open in half. And then it closed as soon as the ball of nanites was formed.

“It was really clever of you to place the central processing unit of your AI inside your brain. People were unable to hack it. But I am a god. What is a man before a god?”

Nazar fell to the ground.

The ball crushed in Nameless One’s hand.

“You are a smart person. A powerful person, too. But without your AI, you cannot make effective decisions. Your decision-making skills are in the same league as kindergarten children.”

Nazar’s head was healed.

The Nameless One placed its hand on Nazar’s chest and within a second, Nazar’s power was gone. The power that could make him do anything. The power that made him special. It was gone. He was just a man now. Nothing more. Nothing less.

As soon as the Nameless One removed its hand from Nazar, he looked like a person who had the best meal of their life.

“Thank you, abomination.”

Nazar’s god walked away from him.

It touched Laura’s head and did something to her.

It then picked up Marco and Laura by the back of their necks and dragged them for a meter or so.

They struggled but it did not do anything.

Nazar looked confused.

Two portals opened next to the Nameless One.

One portal appeared behind Laura and the other appeared behind Marco.

“You could say I cursed her. If she stays 1 mile away from you, she dies immediately. The energy within her works like a poison. Even though you are a human now, you still have different energies than the rest. So, if your energy is more than 1 mile away from her, she dies.”

“You bastard!” Nazar spat out these words.

“And I will be taking Marco with me.”

Nazar looked confused.

“You are the one who took everything away from them. Will they lose each other too because of you? Are you really a hero? Or you are a pathetic being who cannot even save a child or his sister?”

He then threw both of them throw portals.

(Should I just let them die? Why should I save them? Isn’t she a demon or a cosmic entity? Wasn’t he the one who killed Emily? I cannot save them. I have no powers. I am nothing-- argh… What am I even thinking?)

“Now, then, abomination, which one will you choose?” A sinister smile appeared on that faceless and mouthless head.

(I am the one who killed Emily, not him. It was my fault. And I have ruined their lives. This person is here because of me.)

“The child? Or the woman you love?”

(I don’t love her.)

The smile was changed. The Nameless One laughed. He laughed sinisterly.

Nazar did not listen

He started to run.

Nazar, without having powers, he ran. He ran towards the portal and jumped through one of them.

Somewhere in the Milky Way Galaxy:

Nazar’s base on the moon has been transformed into a massive spaceship, thanks to his AI, Solace.

Solace does most of the things for Nazar. She controls all tech related things Nazar have. She also provides him with battle plans and how to win against his opponents. She knows everything Nazar knows.

Right now, she is controlling the spaceship. There is no one aboard the spaceship at that moment.

The lights flickered.

- Syst.. shu...own...imm...nt… -

It had trouble repeating those words.

The life support failed.

The spaceship started to disintegrate.

- Syst... sh…..-

It trailed off. The AI’s central processing unit was destroyed. As it did, she was no longer operations.

Without Solace, the nanites were no longer being held together. Within a few minutes, the whole spaceship was turned into nothing. There wasn’t even wreckage of the spaceship anymore.

Solace was dead. The spaceship has gone. All the memories Nazar had removed were gone.

Anything that remotely made Nazar powerful and dangerous was gone. His powers. His AI. And his tech are useless now.

And that is not all. All forms of digital communications are down on Earth.
