Arc 70 - Earth-6

Nazar and Laura teleported to Tokyo, Japan.

“Why are we here?”

“I don’t know, Solace said this world’s Nazar in this city.”

Solace then turned on the camouflage.

“We are camouflaged. People won’t notice us… actually, they just won’t notice me. Solace, you can remove her camouflage.”

Laura was back to her normal look.

“I don’t even know why you camouflaged me in the first place.”

“I just did not want that world’s Nazar to notice your massive chest and then he would add you to his harem.”

“Ah?”

“Just kidding. I just did not really think it through. Plus, I did not want anyone to notice you either. Remember how some people saw us in New York?”

“I see...”

Solace tracked this world’s Nazar even further. She found his exact location.

“Anyway, why do you notice my chest so much?”

“It’s big. Really big.”

“I report you to the police for sexual harassment.”

“My other crimes are far worse than this. Plus, they cannot keep me contained.”

“...”

“What?”

“Eddie was right. I need to be careful around me.”

“I am gonna kill Eddie.”

- Found him. -

“Where is he?”

- He is in a restaurant. It just about a mile away from here. -

“Okay.”

They followed the direction Solace gave them and they found this world’s Nazar.

He was sitting in a restaurant and he was with his family. His biological family. His mother, father, brother and sister and all the extended family.

When Nazar saw them, his smile vanished. He looked like he was about to cry.

“Nazar? Are you okay?”

“Y-yeah...”

Nazar’s eyes became blue. Of course, only Laura could see this.

“What are you doing?”

“Telepathy.”

“Didn’t you say that they could notice it?”

“All Nazar’s share different power sets. This one might not have telepathy. Plus, I want him to notice me.”

“Why?”

“Just because...”

Nazar easily managed to enter the mind of this world’s Nazar.

He entered this world’s Nazar and saw his memories.

This world’s Nazar:

He was born into the same family and has had the powers since he was just a child. He got his powers when the Nameless One showed up before him and touched him. However, he was not as young as Earth Prime’s Nazar. Once he got his powers, his parents and the rest of his family helped him control his powers and helped him become a hero to the world. This world’s Nazar has a secret identity, unlike most Nazar’s.

Whenever this Nazar makes a public appearance, he wears a mask. And has a proper tight-skin costume, like heroes from comics.

This world’s Nazar easily managed to defeat Zerathos, before it escalated and nearly died, but he had help from Aarin and Alice. He did not let the aliens get close to Earth. He has saved Earth from internal and external threats.

This world’s Aarin helped both Nazar and Alice develop their powers better.

Even though Aarin is gone now, Alice is still around.

Nazar was looking inside his memories when something happened. This world’s Nazar noticed Nazar inside his mind.

He appeared in front of Nazar, inside his mind. He was wearing his superhero disguise. It was a black tight-skin costume, with a massive ‘N’ on the right side of his chest. He also had a black cape and a black mask. However, in the physical world, the costume changes colours and design all the time.

“GET OUT OF MIND!” Nazar (of Earth-6) shouted inside his mind.

Nazar made sure that Nazar (of Earth-6) sees his face.

As soon as Nazar heard that, he left Nazar (of Earth-6)’s mind. And instead of being scared or worried, he just smiled.

Nazar (of Earth-6) got off from his chair and immediately left the restaurant. Everyone on the table looked at him in confusion.

“Nazar? What did you do?” Laura asked Nazar.

“Nothing.”

“Are you jealous of his life?”

“I don’t what it feels like to be jealous.”

The other Nazar came out of the restaurant. He wandered around for a while before a sonic boom was heard.

He was floating above the restaurant and was analysing the area around him.

“Should I fight him?”

“No.”

“I am going to fight him. I just don’t like him. He pisses me off.”

“You are jealous of his life.”

Nazar sighed.

“If I fight him, you would get hurt.”

“Then don’t. Just talk to him.”

“You are right… or maybe I should just let you die.”

Nazar closed his eyes and his camouflage was gone.

He flew up and started to float in front of his counterpart.

Right now, this world’s Nazar was wearing a costume that resembled a stealth armour.

“Who are you?” Nazar (of Earth-6) asked in surprise.

“I am you… but from another universe.”

“Why did you enter my mind?”

“Just wanted to see how your life in her was?”

“Why are you here?”

“I need your help.”

“Hmm?”

“Do you remember the being who showed up and give you your powers?”

Nazar (of Earth-6)’s disguise vanished. As it was night, no one beside Nazar could see him.

“Yes. But I do not know how he looks like.”

“The Nameless One. It is a being who has been around far longer than any being. A being who created us.”

“So, why are you here?”

“I need to analyse the energies within your body. I have done it to many versions of you and me across the multiverse. The energies are the same, yet different. I need substantial data in order to find that bastard.“

“And then what?”

“Kill it.”

Nazar (of Earth-6) froze in his place.

“Kill him?”

“It is not a human or alien or angel or a demon.”

“...”

“Have you never killed before?”

“No. I would never do anything.”

“I have.”

“It is not something you should be proud of.”

“So, are you going to help me or not?”

“What if you can’t kill ‘it’?”

“Then I will just die instead.”

Nazar (of Earth-6) thought for a minute.

“I am not going to help you.”

“Huh?”

“I am not going to send you to your death or kill him.”

Nazar frowned when he heard that answer.

He gritted his teeth and punched Nazar (of Earth-6) in the face.

Before he was punched, Nazar (of Earth-6)’s mask appeared. The mask contained most of the damage.

However, Nazar (of Earth-6) fell to the ground anyway.

“What the hell is wrong with you?”

(Accessing Nazar 2.0.)

Nazar’s whole body turned pitch black. He was giving off a weird black aura.

“Just… just what are you?” Nazar (of Earth-6) said.

Nazar (of Earth-6) got up.

Nazar shot toward him at supersonic speed.

He kicked Nazar (of Earth-6) in the sides, which threw him away. As it did, he went through a building, nearly destroying the whole building.

Nazar then used telekinesis to pull Nazar (of Earth-6) towards him. He then held him by his neck.

“Do you think I want to die? I am trying to save you guys.”

Nazar increased the pressure on Nazar (of Earth-6)’s neck.

“If I don’t kill that bastard, I don’t know what will happen. He might as well destroy everything. I am just trying to save everything… or at least pretending to be doing that.”

Nazar (of Earth-6) did not know what to say.

Nazar threw the other Nazar to the ground.

“Ngh… Just what is--”

He swung his fist and it was going to hit Nazar (of Earth-6) in the face again, but he stopped because Laura appeared next to Nazar.

“Stop, Nazar,” Laura said slowly.

As soon as she said that, Nazar stopped.

(Why...?) Nazar thought.

“Stop it.”

Nazar went back to his original form.

“I just need to analyse your body. You were just supposed to unleash your energies hidden within you.” Nazar slammed his foot into the ground and a small crater appeared.

“As I said, I am not going to allow you to kill someone or let you get killed.”

“I don--”

“Why can’t you just do it without my permission?” Nazar (of Earth-6) said as he stood up.

“Most of us can keep our energies hidden. And yours is hidden right now. I just need you to just reveal that energy to me.”

Nazar (of Earth-6) thought for a minute.

“Fine. And don’t you dare die.”

“Why do you even care?”

Nazar - ‘Solace, analyse it.’

Solace - ‘Okay, Master.’

“I don’t want you to die,” Nazar (of Earth-6) said.

Nazar laughed.

“I can’t die. I am immortal.”

“...”

Solace - ‘Done, Master.’

“I--”

Nazar trailed off. His eyes were completely frozen. He started to tremble. His breathing became erratic as well.

He clenched his fist, but it reopened immediately. He did not have the strength to keep his fist.

“I-i-i-i-i-i-it…it… it is here.”

- It is here. -

Both Nazar and Solace said the last part together.

Nazar looked around in confusion.

“Who is here?” Nazar (of Earth-6) said.

“Th-th-th-the N-N-N-N-Nameless One is--”

“Oh come on, can you not even say it properly,” A voice came behind Nazar.

He did not look back but he knew who it was. It belonged to the Nameless One. A being who has existed long before the universe. It is a being made of energy. It is not a human or an alien. It is not an angel or a demon. It is not a man or a woman. It is not a child or an adult. It is not a saint or sinner.

The Nameless One placed both of its hands on Nazar’s face from behind.

“Hello there, my sweet, sweet little abomination.”

Nazar fell to his knees.

“I see you have made quite a bit of progress in finding me. You are going in the right track. Of course, I left some clues behind but you are too much of an idiot to find them.”

Nazar’s heard started to drooped down.

“Tell me something, abomination.”

A smile appeared on that mouthless and faceless head.

“Why do you not use your powers to find me? Become the ultimate being, so I can suck more energies out of you.”

Nazar’s eyes stopped blinking.

People started to gather around them, but Nazar (of Earth-6) made sure that they stay away.

“I see you have saved the woman you love, but what about her brother? Can you save him? Can you even save yourself?”

The being started to laugh.

“Come, my sweet, sweet little abomination. Submit yourself now and you can save her. You can keep her out of your dark world. You can keep from this prison you have created for yourself.”

“What do you want, villain?” Nazar (of Earth-6) shouted.

“Villain? Me?” The Nameless One laughed once more. “I am the ultimate destroyer. I am here to destroy everything. And he can help me.”

“...”

“As for what I want… well, I just want to destroy everything. This world. This universe. This multiverse. Everything.”

“You are mad, villain?”

“I like the way you speak, my creation.”

“I am no one’s creation--”

“You are my creation. And you are my food. It will take me less than a second to turn you into ash. And you will be gone forever.” The Nameless One turned his head towards the restaurant, which was located at his 180 degrees. Its head turned back and then so did his body. It turned around unnaturally. “And your loving family too.”

“Leave… him alone!” Nazar mustered enough strength just to say these words.

As the Nameless One heard that, it turned around and placed its hand on Nazar’s head.

“How about I increase your fear to its maximum, abomination?”

As soon as it said that, Nazar fell to the ground.

“You are still a child. A scared child who wanted to crush his heart when he saw the scene before him. A child who is still not over what his parents have done to him. Submit to me and it will all be gone.”

The Nameless One started to float a little.

“I will be waiting for you. Waiting for you to come to me. And then I will release her brother in return for you. Don’t disappoint me, abomination.”

As soon as the Nameless One said that, it vanished into thin air.

Nazar tried to get up, but he fell back to the ground.

Nazar (of Earth-6) rushed in to try and pick but it was too late. Both Nazar and Laura vanished into thin air.

He looked around in confusion. After a few minutes, he went back to his family, but he kept an eye and ear out for this Nazar.

In a dark place, Laura and Nazar appeared. She did not know where they are.

(It’s cold and dark.)

“Wh--where are we?”

- It is a small place. A small cave within a mountain. Before we left, Master told me to take him to a place like this when he starts trembling in fear. However, the Nameless One was restricting my movements. -

“I can’t see anything.”

As she said that, Solace did something and the dark cave was filled with light.

- Can you see now? -

“Yes. Thank you.”

She looked around and saw Nazar. His back was pressed against the wall of the cave.

He was trembling. His eyes were not blinking. His mouth was open. And his head was drooped down.

“I-i-i-i-is… is he gone?”

- Yes, Master. I don’t recognise his presence anywhere in this universe. Or at least that’s what he wants me to think. -

Laura moved closer to Nazar.

“Nazar?”

There was no response.

“Nazar?” Laura raised her voice a little.

(It’s cold.)

She then shook him.

Nazar slowly raised his head. Once he saw Laura, his eyes finally blinked.

(Her face is like the ocean. Her mouth is like the reflection of the sun in the ocean. Her breathing is like the sound of the ocean.)

“NAZAR?” Laura shouted.

(Her words are like the sound of birds chirping in the ocean.)

Laura then placed her hands on his face.

(Her hands are soft and warm.)

She lightly slapped her face.

(It’s like being inside a very comfortable and warm blanket while looking at the snow outside.)

Nazar did not react.

(Her heart… I can hear her heartbeat. It is like a thunder in a soundless world.)

“What’s wrong with him?”

(Why do I envision such a weird imagery with her?)

- He...he is thinking? -

Nazar finally stopped trembling.

“He is gone,” Nazar finally said something.

“Are you okay?”

“Yes.”

(Why are her face and voice is calming?)

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

(Why do I always become calm around her?)

Nazar just blankly stared at her.

(What about her is so different?)

Laura’s expression became confused.

(Why is she the only one in the sea of monkeys that I see as a human?)

Nazar is talking about people outside of his inner circle. He is talking about people besides Emma, Emily, John and Mary.

“Nazar?”

Nazar stopped blinking again.

(Why is she the only one who never feared me?)

Even his friend, his sister and his adoptive parents feared him and even Aarin. But Laura was the first one to not fear him.

She lightly tapped his face.

(Why… why is she the only one who ever saw me as a human?)

Aarin might think of her as her son, but she did it to use him as a weapon. Same with Alice. Zerathos and his parents, too.

Nazar tried to get up, but he didn’t have the strength to do so.

“Just sit down for a few minutes.”

“Why?”

“...?”

Laura looked confused.

“Why?”

“Why what?”

Nazar removed her hand from his face.

“Why are so you nice to me?”

“What?”

“Why are you so nice to me?”

“...”

“What have I ever done for you? I never did anything for you.”

Laura did not know what to say.

“Why are you the only person who sees me as a human?”

“Because you are a human.”

“Why are you the only one who never wanted to use me?”

“Because you are not a tool.”

Laura chuckled.

“Why are you asking these weird questions?”

Nazar looked down once more.

“Do you know why I came back from the dead? I could have stayed there but didn’t. Do you know why?”

“You told me that you wanted to be a better brother to your sister.”

“That was not the whole story. When I first saw you, for some reasons, I stopped worrying about everything around me. Even though we only met a few times before my death, but for some reason, I wanted to know why you made me feel that way.”

“...”

“When Aarin brought me back, even in that countless deaths, when I heard your voice, I calmed down. I was not angry. And when I ‘woke up’ and you were the first one I saw. I did not want to feel angry at those bastards.”

Nazar lowered his gaze.

“When Emily died, I thought I had lost everything and then there you were. Unlike the others, you did not fear or looked at me in horror. And then when I froze time, every time I had lost it, you were the first person I thought of and it calmed me down. And for some reasons, it always made me smile for some reason.”

Nazar’s eyes welled up.

“And I hate to admit this, but when we were thrown through time, I was not worried for a second. I wasn’t even thinking about that. I was… I felt a little happy inside. I was happy that I got to spend some time with you.”

Nazar looked up.

“So… So, why are you so nice to me? Why do you see me as a human? When I am a monster?”

“I knew about that.”

“Huh?” Nazar was truly surprised.

“I knew about that. I know that you only ever save people for your own selfish reasons. You saved the world because you wanted to keep your sister safe. You saved the universe for similar reasons.” Laura smiled. “Did you really think that I did not know about this?”

Nazar did not save the Earth from Zerathos because he found a conscience. He did not save the universe because it was the right thing to do. He did not defeat Bur’goth because he was a demon. He did not defeat the Death 100 because he wanted to keep Earth safe. He did not go after Laura because he wanted to save her or because it happened because of him.

No, he did all this because he wanted to save himself. He saved Earth to get revenge on Zerathos. He saved the universe because he wanted to defeat Bur’goth and to take revenge for Emily, who died because of him but did not want to admit it. He did not defeat the Death 100 because they could be a threat to the Earth, but because he wanted to take his anger on them, even if he did not want to admit it. He went after Laura, not to save her like a hero would save an innocent person, but he did it because he cares for her and wants to save her for his own good.

“You do know that I cannot save you or your brother, right? I was just giving you false hope. I mean look at me,” Nazar pointed at himself, “as soon as I saw him, I stopped moving. I will never be able to save you or your brother. ”

“And I know that too. As I told you before, I have already accepted our deaths.”

“...”

“So, when I asked you why you wanted to save me, I already knew that. I just wanted you to say it. So, can you please tell me why are you trying so hard to save us?”

“...”

Nazar thought for a minute.

“I want to save you two because I don’t want to see you hurt anymore. And… because you are the only one besides Emma...” Nazar paused for a second before continuing, “...I know it is going to sound cringe but… you are this small flicker of light inside this dark world I have created for myself. So, I want to save that little light I have left. And to save you, I have to save your brother.”

Nazar chuckled.

“Go ahead and laugh. If I heard this from someone else, I would vomit too. But know this, I will not be able to save you.”

“I am not going to laugh.”

“Ah?” Nazar sounded surprised.

“You want to save yourself and there is no shame in that. I probably would have done the same if I was like you. We all do things for our own good, so why would I laugh or hate you for doing something good for yourself?”

Nazar lowered his head again.

“You created this dark world for yourself and now you want to save yourself from it. I just happen to be a small part of that world of you.”

Laura used her hand to lift up Nazar’s head.

Laura smiled.

(Her smile… I never wanted to admit it, but it like a sunrise after a dark night.)

“So, what are you going to do?”

“...?”

“Are you going to save yourself, which also include me and my brother? Or are you going to stay in that dark world and put on a happy face?”

“Okay. I will save myself.”

Laura ripped open his shirt.

“What?!” Nazar shrieked in surprise.

She then lifted the sport’s top he was wearing.

She then touched his scar.

“If you really want to save yourself, start from here. Get rid of these scars.”

Nazar looked at his scars and they vanished.

Nazar stood up. And his clothes were fixed once more.

Laura stood up too.

She reached her hand and wiped the tears off Nazar’s face. He looked surprised. He did not know he had tears coming off his eyes.

“You didn’t look so good.”

“Solace, take us back to where we were.”

- Why? -

“Are you sure?”

“Yes. I am fine now.”

“Did you turn off your emotions again?”

“No.”

“Another cringe line coming?”

Nazar chuckled.

“It was coming in but I am going to do something else instead.”

He placed his hand on her head and she felt pain.

“Ngh… what was that?”

In Nazar’s hand, a small device appeared.

“This is how Eort controlled you. This is how he made you work for him.”

Laura seemed surprised.

“But I promise you, I did not use this device in any way.”

“I know.”

“Why do you trust me so much?”

“You said to trust you a little, remember?”

“I see.”

They both smiled as they vanished into thin air and appear in Tokyo again.

Nazar took a deep breath.

“Why did we come here again?”

“I just wanted to see what could have become of my life.”

“I see.”

“Solace, have you analysed Emily’s energies?”

- Yes. -

“Do you not need her permission?”

“Her energy is not hidden, unlike Nazar’s. They hide without knowing and once they give you permission, they release all of their energies and Solace will then analyse all of them. And find the true one.”

“Then what about the young Nazar?”

“Solace copied Emily’s and Nazar’s energies while we slept. And then as that Nazar got his powers new, his energies were not hidden.”

“Okay.”

- A portal to Earth-7 is opening now. -

“Thanks, Solace.”

Nazar held Laura’s hand and walked through the portal.

Once they arrived at Earth-7’s moon, they looked at the world before them… No, the world that should have been. They just arrived at the right time to see the destruction of the Earth.
