Arc 76 - The Nameless One (Part 3)

Nazar was in the darkness. His powers were gone and he was no longer struggling against the Nameless One.

As he was walking in the darkness, a new figure showed up and as it did, light appeared in this dark world. It was Emma, his sister. She was looking around in confusion until she saw Nazar.

“N-Nazar?”

Nazar smiled when he saw her… but then he remembered what happened to her and everyone else.

(Accessing Nazar 1.0.)

Nazar returned to his original form. His emotions returned and so did his powers.

“Nazar? Where am I?”

Nazar went closer to her and hugged. Emma started to look even more confused.

“I am sorry… I couldn’t save anything. Not you or anyone else.”

“Huh?”

Nazar did not pay attention to her confused expression.

Emma wanted to say something, but she could not. It was like someone was holding her back.

“Nazar? ”

“There… there is so much I wanted to tell you and talk to you about it… but I guess it too late.”

“Nazar? Just what are--”

She trailed off. It felt like she lost her speaking ability.

“I am so sorry for treating you like that all these years. I wish I could have been a better brother to you and...”

Emma did not know what to say.

“I am sorry about everything.”

The Nameless One appeared next to them.

When Emma saw the Nameless One, she became even more confused.

“I am his God,” the Nameless One said to Emma with a thin smile on his face.

Nazar stood in front of Emma and faced his God.

“If you even think about touching her, I will--”

The Nameless One sighed.

“I will let you keep your powers for now… but are you not going to tell her? This is your last chance.”

Emma was standing behind Nazar, but he could tell she was super confused.

“Are you not going to tell her who her parents are?”

Emma’s eyes widened.

“This your last chance.”

As the Nameless One said that, he vanished into thin air.

“Nazar? What is he talking about?”

Nazar turned around.

“Did you ever wonder who your biological parents are?”

“No. And I never wanted to know. I always had my parents. Unlike you, I loved them like I would love my own. And they loved me the same way.”

Nazar lowered his gaze.

“But do you want to know? Just to know who they are?”

Emma thought for a minute.

“Maybe?”

Nazar smiled.

“We share the same biological parents.”

Emma’s mind went completely blank.

“I don’t know the details but, I had Solace analyse your DNA map and then compared it to my own and it is positive. We are biological brother and sister.”

“...”

“I know you are probably confused and think--”

Emma smiled.

“Huh?” Nazar looked beyond confused.

“I always thought of you as my real brother, so I don’t know if this makes any difference for me.”

“So did I. Even if I never showed it on my face. And never let anyone know about it either.”

“Ah?”

“And to see that we are actually brothers, I hate myself more than anything. I wish… I wish--”

Emma placed her index finger on Nazar’s mouth.

“There are so many things we want to take back, but if you actually want to change, and you did try to change, so I don’t want you to beat yourself over it. So what if we are biological brother and sister? I always saw you as my real brother and if you did too, then it does not really matter, does it? Stop beating yourself over it.”

“...”

“Anyway, if this what it takes to see me as your sister and family, then I am okay with it.”

Nazar just hugged her.

“This is my first time saying this to anyone… I love you. And I am sorry for everything.”

Emma smiled.

“I love you, too. And please stop apologising.”

There was a little silence.

“Anyway, where am I?”

Nazar stopped hugging her.

“This place,” Nazar said as he pointed to the place across him, “its the only thing left after the destruction of the multiverse.”

“Again, what are--”

She trailed off once more.

She tried to speak but words won’t come out.

“What?”

“I… I don’t know.”

Emma looked around in confusion.

“There is… there is this weird message inside my head and it is telling me to kill you? What is that about?”

Nazar sighed.

“Just do as it says. You are doing me a favour.”

“Huh?”

“Please.”

Emma hugged him and a knife appeared in her hand.

“Why do I have to do this? I don’t want to do this. I don’t want to kill you. I don’t… I don’t want to see you die. I can’t.”

“Did you not hold a grudge against me?”

Emma looked at him.

“For all the time when I have hurt you? For all the time when I pushed you away? You very own brother? For all the time--”

“No.”

“Huh?” Nazar sounded surprised.

“I never even hated you for one minute. I have feared you but hate? No, I would never do that.”

Nazar forced a smile.

“I don’t want to die. I hate it now. But… at this point, you are doing me a favour. So, please, just close your eyes and it will be done. And stop crying. Please?”

Emma smiled but she looked like she was going to cry, instead.

“I love you.”

“Yeah, me too.”

Nazar raised a hand and wiped the tears off her face.

She just pushed the knife in Nazar’s back and his world became dark once more.

He opened his eyes and his world had become dark once more.

(Accessing Nazar 3.0.)

The Nameless One appeared before him once more.

“That was interesting, but I thought getting killed by your sister while having your emotions would definitely break you. And why are you no longer fearing me? You have your emotions back, don’t you?”

“You are no longer manipulating my emotions. And yes, I feared you but when I saw your face, I just see myself. And I don’t fear myself.”

The Nameless One lightly nodded.

“I will leave your powers with for a few minutes. I have a little something planned for you.”

As the Nameless One said that, the children of Nazar’s of the multiverse appeared behind him.

One of them was Emma, from Earth-11.

“When I found them, some of them were children but I made them older. I need them at their prime.”

There were hundreds of them. And all of their eyes were red.

“They will kill you over and over again. But I will let you use your powers to see how powerful they are.”

“I am not--”

“You don’t have a choice. If you don’t fight them, they will kill one another.”

All of them held their hands at each others’ throats.

Nazar thought about a minute.

He sighed.

“Okay.”

“Fight them one-on-one. I want to see their individual strength.”

(When did I start saving people?)

One of them shot towards Nazar at speed faster than sound.

He threw a flying kick towards Nazar.

Nazar bent his back in half unnaturally.

If it was any normal human, they would have been seriously injured for the rest of their life or they would have been dead by now.

While the attacker was moving just a little above Nazar, so he grabbed his leg and threw him away. He was thrown away.

Next, a few of them shot towards Nazar at the same time, but Nazar easily threw them to side.

Nazar just sighed and flew up. He kept flying up, up, up and up, but he could not get away from them.

They shot beams of energy towards Nazar, but he easily evaded them.

They tried to catch up to him with speed, but it proved useless. Nazar was moving faster than the speed of light.

While he was moving, he suddenly stopped and all them surrounded him. They attacked him at the same time, but Nazar activated his reflection, which sent each attack back to its owner.

At that moment, the Nameless One showed up.

He waved his hand and all of them just fell to down. They kept falling down, down and down.

“What are you doing to them?”

“They disappoint me. I told them to fight you one-on-one but they chose differently.”

“Where are they falling to?”

“To infinity and beyond.”

The Nameless One laughed.

Nazar punched him in the face, but it did not damage.

“Oh? You have grown a backbone?”

(Why do I feel bad for them? They are not related to me in any way… so, why do I want to save them?)

Nazar vanished into thin air.

(Why do I want to save them? There is nothing left.)

Nazar appeared in darkness once more.

(Can I even save them? I wanted to save Laura and her brother, but I failed. And I am going to fail with them too… but they are children.)

The Nameless One appeared next to him.

(He is using them as weapons. Just like my good old parents did across the multiverse.)

“Now, come on. You can’t defeat--”

“I don’t have to. I know I can’t but you will be defeated soon. And I promise you that.”

The Nameless One just smiled.

“And how will you do that?”

“I… I don’t know.”

(Angels, huh?)

Nazar smiled.

His eyes turned completely white.

“Hm?”

“Found him.”

As soon as he said that, Lucifer was teleported in.

Both Lucifer and the Nameless One looked at him in confusion.

“Lucifer, I have a request for you.”

“Hm?”

“Defeat him for me, will you?”

Both Lucifer and the Nameless One laughed.

“I… I can’t believe what you are saying.”

“And why would I defeat him? We have a truce. This plan will not work if both of us are not there.”

“Lucifer, what if I join you? Will you do it then?”

“No. Because I can see exactly where you are going with this. You are trying to manipulate me? The Lucifer?”

“No, I am not. I will help you if you defeat him and bring back the multiverse, I will help you.”

“What’s the point of bringing back the multiverse if I want to destroy it all over again?”

“It was worth a try.”

Nazar raised his arms and hundreds of robots showed up.

They surrounded all three of them.

The Nameless One waved his hand and all of the robots vanished into thin air.

“Thank you,” Nazar said.

Both Lucifer and the Nameless One exchanged confused glances.

“I created them and you just destroyed. But it did provide me with a little data.”

“And what are you going to do with that data?”

“I don’t know. Kill you with it? Or just try to analyse its origin?”

“So, what did you gain from that data?”

“Nothing, thanks to you.”

“What are you trying to do? Just unleash your true power and it will all end,” Lucifer said.

“I don’t know about that,” Nazar said as he vanished into thin air.

He appeared somewhere else.

And so did the Nameless One.

“Do you really think that you will be able to hide from me in this world?”

“No.”

Nazar vanished and appeared somewhere else. And so did the Nameless One. They went it at for about 10 before the Nameless One lost his temper.

“YOU ARE SO ANNOYING!”

The Nameless One grabbed Nazar by his throat, but he was not showing any struggle. Instead, he just yawned.

“You are not a God. I just proved that.”

The Nameless One frowned when he heard.

“You were just chasing after an illusion.”

As Nazar said that, Nazar just disappeared. He did not teleport anywhere. He just vanished.

The Nameless One teleported to every place Nazar teleported earlier but could not find him.

He went around for a few minutes and finally went back to where Lucifer was. However, he saw something that should not have been possible. Nazar was holding battered Lucifer in his hand. Lucifer was dangling down from Nazar’s hand.
