Arc 88 - Rapture (Part 7)

Nazar fought against the Goddess of Knowledge. And as soon as she left, Omegan, the leader of Omega People, and the God among Gods is here.

Omegan had a human form as well. He had black hair, black eyes, and black skin. These Gods can get any form they want.

Nazar looked at him.

“So, you are that human?” Omegan asked.

“I have to fight you too?” Nazar said in a disinterested tone.

“Oh, no, no, no,” he said as he waved his hands. “I don’t wish to fight you. I wanted her to find out more about you and then maybe kill you. But I guess we cannot kill you. So, I guess I will let you live for the moment.”

If it was the old Nazar, he would have immediately attacked Omegan, but this Nazar couldn't care less. He just wants these guys to go away. He does not want to fight them.

“You are no match for us, so we don’t waste our time with you. You might mess with our powers, but it seems you don’t even know about.” Omegan paused before he continued. “And you are stopping us from hearing the prayers of Earthlings and surrounding planets. And frankly, we couldn’t care less about Earth. So, you are not much of a threat.”

“I see. So, it was just a misunderstanding, then?”

“You could say so.”

“Okay. If you don’t care about Earth, then please leave us be.”

Omegan smiled.

“I might see you soon in the cosmos, human.”

“I hope not.”

“Hahaha. Yes, you should not face any of us. You just defeated one of our weakest Gods. She is powerful but she is powerful when it comes to knowledge. However, when it comes to physical capabilities, even our lower ranked Gods are above you.”

“More reasons to stay away from them.”

(Just leave, you bastard.) Nazar thought.

Omegan waved and vanished into thin air.

Nazar sighed when Omegan left.

He looked around him and some places were destroyed. There were some injured people.

Eddie landed next to him.

“Oi, what happened?” Eddie asked in confusion.

“A lot.”

Nazar waved his hand and green energy flew out. It healed every injured person around him.

“Sorry. I couldn’t be of any help.”

“Nah, you were of great help.”

“But dude, where the hell have you been?”

“Dead?”

Nazar expressionless face made Eddie think that he was joking.

“I-I see.”

Eddie looked around this time and saw everyone frozen in fear and horror, including Nazar’s parents.

“I will take care of the people here. You should leave.”

“Thanks, Eddie. But let me fix this before I leave.”

He raised his hand and everything that was destroyed were now fixed. The destroyed bus was fixed. The destroyed road was fixed. The destroyed department store was now fixed. The destroyed cars and other stuff were fixed as well.

As soon as he was done, Nazar looked at Emma and his parents, who were now frozen in fear and horror.

Nazar’s hand waved and he was teleported out. He also teleported out Emma, his parents, Mikasa and Jake.

They appeared in their home.

Nazar sat on the sofa.

His parents were still frozen with horror. They might have known how powerful he is and how he has killed before, but it was the first time they saw him nearly die.

“Nazar, are you okay?” Mikasa asked.

“Yes. What about you guys?”

“We are all fine.” Emma looked at her parents. “At least physically.”

After a little while, his parents were finally recovered from their state.

“Emma, just what were you thinking?!” Mary sounded angry.

Well, of course, they would. Emma could have easily been dead.

“Yes. What the hell was that?” John also sounded angry.

“I… I don’t know. I just thought she might stop if I try. I did not expect her to try and kill me.”

Nazar kept quite.

“What about you, Jake? You could have died too.”

“...”

“And what the hell was that? Who was she? And what the hell happened?”

“He was about to die and then his powers came back,” Jake said. “He was lucky.”

(Lucky is one word I would not use.)

“As for who she was, she saw she was a Goddess or something.”

“Why are you there taking this so lightly? He was about to die, for God’s sake,” Mary said.

She, of course, was talking about Emma, Jake and Mikasa. They had known about Nazar’s immortality and reincarnation.

“Yes. I don’t understand this,” John added.

“Because--”

“Because...Because he has died before,” Emma said.

Both John’s and Mary’s mind went completely blank.

“First time I died was apparently when I was very young,” Nazar finally spoke. “I… I am immortal.”

Everyone looked at him in confusion and surprise. Not because of the immortal part, but he has died when he was very young.

“I have died thousands of times over. So, this is not something new.”

Even Jake, who saw him die over and over again, looked surprised.

They all sat down to think over it. There was a little quiet in the room for a while.

“So, Emma knew about it?” Mary asked.

“Yes,” Nazar said as he nodded.

“And you did not bother telling us, Emma?”

Emma just lowered her gaze.

“Look. It is not her fault for not telling you. I should have told you guys. It was my job, not hers. And I know you are angry, but don’t take your anger out on her.”

“We are not angry. Just surprised.”

“So, how do you live with it? I mean dying and coming back?” John asked in a low voice.

“What do you mean?”

“How do you cope with dying over and over again at the same time? Or what are the costs of coming back?”

“Memory loss. I lose my memories when I die. But luckily I have Solace to keep it together for me.”

“So, if she is not around then...”

“Yes. I lose everything.”

“You are taking this pretty lightly.”

“I am kind of used to it at this point. But I don’t want to die anymore. That place is not a pretty place. Unlike normal humans, I don’t go to hell or heaven. I end up in a place that is referred to as the Void. It is a dark place without light or sound.”

“So, that woman, who came here a few times, is she a superhuman as well?” Mary asked.

“No,” he replied as he shook his head. “She is an angel.”

Both of his parents and Mikasa raised their eyebrows.

“And Alice is half angel and half demon.”

This surprised them even more.

“And to take everything out of the way, I have also met Lucifer, the first angel. I have also met the second being, after the Supreme One, or God as some people call it, the Nameless One as well.”

Surprise attack after a surprise attack. He just told them now because he does not want to tell them about it later.

“He wanted to destroy everything once and for all. And the only way he can do that is with my power. So, Lucifer, and another person, who also calls himself a God defeated him. I am not sure if he is fully dead, but he is gone for now. And that is what I have been doing for a month. And that is where I died thousands of times over.”

It took them a few minutes to let that sink in.

“Then why did you not escape from there?” Mikasa asked.

“Because he was using other versions of me like pawns. Like his weapons. And more than that, I was an abomination. So, one day he would have figured out a way to control me. And if he did, then my life will be gone. So, I wanted to stop that from happening.”

“I see.”

“Anything else you want to add?” Mary asked.

“Where is your father, Jake?”

Jake thought for a minute.

“He should be at home today.”

Nazar waved his hand and Jake’s father, Oliver was teleported in.

“O-oh, hi, Nazar. Are you okay? I saw what happened on the news.”

“Yes, I am okay. Can you take a seat, please? I want you all to listen to this. In silence if possible.”

“Sure.”

Nazar waited for everyone to be seated.

“Emma did tell you something about Emily, right? Something that sounded unbelievable, right?”

“Yes,” Jake replied.

“You see, there was nothing at first. Then came a being called the Supreme One. An omnipotent God. Then came a nigh-omnipotent God, called the Nameless One. The Supreme One created the universe. Once the universe came into existence, the Nameless One became jealous of that power. He was to destroy it. However, the Supreme One created his weapons - angels. He created Lucifer to fight the Nameless One. Lucifer did as he was told and the Nameless One was defeated.”

They kind of looked confused. Where was this story going?

“The Nameless One was heavily weakened. He split in half. He sent one to another plane of existence and another stayed outside the multiverse. The Nameless One planted his weapons. Nazar, who powers up the Nameless One. And Emily, Nazar’s power source. If she dies, Nazar becomes powerless. Also, each Nazar has to be activated by the Nameless One. And once they are activated, their power will go to the Nameless One straight away.”

They all listened in silence.

“However, I was different. I was activated without his help. And Emily was not my power source. So, the Nameless One had her killed for his experiment. Once he saw what kind of powers I have, he just wanted to use me instead of everyone else. I could power him up to the point where he could destroy everything. But he could not control me.”

“So, once he took me outside of the multiverse, he made me think everything has been destroyed. So, he killed me over and over again. I don’t remember most of what happened there but once he was at full power, he fought against Lucifer and another being who calls himself a God. Once he was defeated, we all came our separate ways. That is the whole story.” Nazar added.

It did not take them long to let that sink in.

“So, I wanted all of you to hear this because I want to apologise personally. She died because I existed. So, I am sorry--”

“You don’t have to apologise anymore,” Mikasa said. “Death is a natural thing for us, humans. People die all the time. It was just her time. And even if she died early, it was not your fault. Someone else did it.”

“She is right. Believe it or not, you are like family to us. So, stop apologising for something that is outside of your control,” Oliver added. “And it is not like you can bring the dead back, can you?”

Nazar knew that he can. He added this power for no reason. So, he did not say anything this time. He just kept quiet.

“Emma told us this already… but I am glad that you said all of these with full details,” Oliver added.

“I see.”

“And no, it is not your fault. I know you are probably thinking it is your fault she died, but that is not true,” Mikasa said.

Nazar did not know what to say, so he just kept quiet.

(I have always hated this power.)

Nazar stood up.

(I always thought it was a curse.)

“I will be back in a few minutes.”

(But if it was not for this power...)

Nazar vanished into thin air.

(...I would have not been alive.)

He appeared 10 Miles above London.

(Emma would have not been alive.)

He closed his eyes.

(Both of us would have been dead, just like our older brother.)

He opened his eyes and they were lit up with blue energy.

(If not for this power, most people would have been dead.)

He raised his hands.

(If not for this power, I would have not had what I have now.)

All the satellites that were destroyed, their parts stated to come together.

(A family.)

The satellites started to recreate.

(So, I will do everything to keep my life as it is.)

The satellites were now all recreated.

(To keep my life as it is, I must keep those close to me safe.)

Once the satellites were fixed, he just stared down.

(And to do that, I must keep this planet...)

He started to fly down.

(... and this universe safe.)

He flew above London and repaired all parts of it that were destroyed today. He fixed some of the placed, but he went back to fix everything.

(I am not a hero. But that does not mean that I should let those close to me get hurt.)

He managed to fix everything in less than a minute.

Nazar flew down for another reason besides fixing this.

(I always thought my life was shit.)

He flew over the sea for a few minutes and reached a ship. It was about to sink.

(But I was wrong.)

He flew towards the ship at supersonic speed.

(If I had looked to the right instead of left, then...)

The people on the ship were trying to get out safely.

(Then I could have had a perfect life.)

They were so busy that they did not see Nazar heading their way.

He moved very fast and placed every single person back on the ship.

They all looked confused and surprised. And also looked scared.

Nazar then went below the ship and lifted it above his head. He carried the ship to the harbour and placed it there. No one was dead or injured. But they were scared.

Once he placed the ship in a safe place, he flew out of there.

He flew up and up and up when he reached a certain place.

Because he repaired the satellites by reconnecting every broken part of the satellites. Some parts of the satellites were on the ground, so when it flew up all the way there, it flew through the shit and then a plane. So, the plane had a hole in it now and it was falling down at unimaginable speed.

He held the passenger plane above his head and placed it in the closest airport.

He then flew back to where Norse God was.

“Thanks for your help, Eddie.”

Eddie was just there to help calm people down.

“You are very welcome.”

Eddie and Nazar both flew up.

Eddie was not flying with his thunder. He has learned how to fly without it.

“So, where have you been?”

“Outside the multiverse.”

Eddie looked at him in surprise.

“Seriously?!”

“Yes.”

“Outside the multiverse, huh? That is insane. What did you do there?”

“I died.”

“Ah?”

“I died in there. Many times.”

“I see.”

They were now flying over the Atlantic Ocean.

“So, where are we going now?”

“Let’s have a race.”

“Ah?”

Nazar smiled and sped off.

They were both flying above the Atlantic Ocean. They were so fast that most people could not even see them and most of the systems could not even register them.

“Hahaha. I missed this so much,” Nazar said as he increased his speed.

Eddie increased his speed as well, but it was not enough.

Within seconds, he was in New York City.

Nazar floated above the city and waited for Eddie. He joined him a few minutes later.

“Damn, you are fast.”

“I was going easy on you.”

Eddie gave him a blank look.

“We are friends, right?”

Nazar gave him a confused look.

“I mean, I think we are friends. But do you consider me a friend?”

“I guess, we are. I am not sure.”

Eddie placed his arm on Nazar’s shoulder.

“Oi, what are you doing?”

“Dude, I missed you so much. My only friend in this world.”

“You know what? We are no longer friends.”

Eddie removed his arm.

“Okay, I will see you soon. My girlfriend will be mad.”

“What, you are scared of her?”

“No. It was a joke.”

“I see. Anyway, let’s go to a bar tonight. Me, you, and… maybe that guy who helped you out today. To thank him, you know?”

“You mean, Jake? He is… he was (?) my friend's brother.”

“Ah.”

“And I don’t drink. My tongue is sensitive to chemicals.”

“Just come anyway. We will have fun.”

Nazar gave him a blank look.

“Why did you come here?”

“To fix something.”

“Hm?”

Nazar flew towards the UN building. Within seconds, he was there.

He raised his hand and the whole building crumbled to pieces. Then he raised his other hand and in all that space, many buildings appeared.

“What the…?”

“Technically it belongs to me. If Alice is basically like my mother and her father is Zerathos, then everything he owned belongs to me now. Including this overpriced building.”

“Ah?”

“I am going to rebuild all of Zerathos's properties for the homeless people. There are a lot of them who could use this space. Of course, they will be living for free in here. But will have to pay other bills.”

“...”

“I want you to find suitable candidates and let them reside here. Please.”

Eddie did not know what to say.

Nazar teleported out.

He then appeared on the moon.

He sat down and looked at the Earth before him.

Nazar smiled.

“I have never been happier to see you,” he muttered under his breath.

While he was looking at the Earth he remembered something.

“Ah. What was that about the creatures of the Void?”

He thought about it for a minute.

"Oh, well. I guess I will deal with you soon."

He then teleported back to his home.

“Where did you go?” Emma asked.

“Just trying to clear my mind.”

(Just kidding. I just wanted to get out of this situation.)

“Oh?”

Nazar sat on the sofa again.

“Is anyone else hungry?”

Everyone gave him a blank look.

“What?”

“Its… we just had breakfast,” Emma said slowly.

“Well, I am hungry.”

He got up and went to the kitchen.
