Arc 89 - Rapture (Part 8)

It was evening and Nazar was lying down on his bed. He was not trying to sleep. He was just lying down.

He saw the Nameless One smile at him from that dark place.

His eyes were open but he could still see the Nameless One floating above him. He could hear him when no one else could.

“Been a while, my sweet, sweet little abomination,” the Nameless One (?) said.

(Accessing Nazar 3.0.)

Nazar did not tremble in fear. He quickly abandoned his emotions.

“Oh? That is pretty good.”

Nazar’s room was turned into nothingness. He found himself in that dark place once more.

“We could have done so many things together, but you had to ruin it.”

The Nameless One (?) clenched and unclenched his fist.

“You are my creations. I am your God. You should have listened to me. You should have done as I said.”

Nazar rolled his eyes.

“So, why go against me? Is this the life you want?”

Nazar sat down (?).

“Are you happy in your life? Are you happy that this is only temporary?”

“...”

“Are you happy that they will leave you behind one day?”

Nazar lowered his gaze.

“Are you happy that you will walk this Earth alone for hundreds, thousands, millions, and then billions of years?”

The Nameless One (?) raised Nazar’s head.

“Everyone will leave you. You think you hate loneliness? You have not seen anything. Your journey is just starting.”

The Nameless One’s (?) faced was ripped in half with a smile.

“Or… Or you could end everything and be happy?”

Nazar smiled.

“Do you think I do not know that?”

The smiled on the Nameless One’s (?) face vanished.

“I have always known that. I left them once for that exact reason.”

Nazar stood up.

“But I am happy now. And so are they. And that is all that matters.”

Nazar grew bigger and bigger.

“You killed me over and over again. You made me fear everything.”

Nazar was now looking down on his God.

“But that ends now.”

Nazar clenched his fist.

“I am sure you are not really dead. I am sure you will return one day. I am sure you will one day destroy everything.”

He swung his fist and shot it towards the small God, who looked like an ant to him.

“But know this; I will be ready for you.”

He punched his God and he was squashed like a bug.

“Next time I see you, I will not hesitate. Next time I see you, I will kill you forever. I will be prepared next time.”

The darkness around Nazar vanished.

He found himself lying on his bed.

And nothing was damaged or anything.

(Accessing Nazar 1.0.)

Nazar sat on his bed.

He held his head in his hands.

“Solace?”

- Yes, Master? -

“Reboot.”

- Okay, Master. -

It took Solace just a few seconds to completely reboot herself.

- Done, Master. -

“Can you check my health?”

- You are perfectly fine. -

“Okay.”

In his hand, a smartphone appeared. He touched it and there were 50 missed calls and over 100 messages.

“Sigh.”

He teleported out.

He appeared outside a bar. Somewhere in North of United Kingdom.

Once he appeared there, Eddie was waiting for him.

“You are late,” Eddie said as soon as Nazar appeared.

“You know, I can’t get drunk, right?”

“Then why did you come?”

“Because you wouldn't stop asking?”

“I see. Now, let's go in.”

“Solace, camouflage, please.”

- Okay, M-- -

“No need. I have been coming here for weeks and I don’t think anyone would mind you being here.”

“If they run in fear, I couldn’t care less.”

“Don’t worry, they won’t. I told them that you would come.”

“I see.”

He entered the bar with Eddie. Jake was already there.

“Hm?”

“Well, I thought you would not ask him to come here, so I did.”

Nazar let out a small sigh.

They sat around a small table.

“Thanks for your help today.”

“You are welcome.”

“You are welcome, I guess.”

Nazar closed his eyes.

“What are you doing?”

“Adjusting my body, so I can become drunk. And also, so I don’t have to taste the chemicals.”

“I see?” Eddie sounded confused.

Nazar opened his eyes again.

“Now, I can drink and get drunk.”

“You are weird,” Jake said.

“So, how did you find this place?”

“I was just around the place and came here for a drink. And ever since then, I have been coming here,” Eddie said.

He then lowered his voice.

“And that girl is very cute. And she is a redhead.”

“Oi, don't you have a girlfriend?”

Nazar looked behind him and there was a bartender.

Nazar nodded a little.

“You are right about that. But her chest is a little too small.”

Eddie light slapped him on the shoulder.

Nazar took a sip out of Eddie's drink.

“Hey, that’s rude. And I told her you are into redheads. And get yourself your own drink.”

“Hm? This is not as bad as I had it last time.”

“When was the last time you had it?”

“When I was 16.”

Both Eddie and Jake looked at him in surprise.

“What?”

“Why were you drinking when you were 16?”

“Well, I went downstairs to get water and then I saw it. I took a sip out of it and I felt all of the chemicals in it.”

“...”

“...”

“Want anything else, boys?” The bartender said.

“I think Nazar might be interested in you,” Eddie said as he laughed.

Nazar just shook his head and sighed.

“Can I get some beer?” Jake asked her.

“What kind of beer? We have--”

“Any of them is fine. Except for ginger beer.”

“Ginger beer? What the hell is that?” Nazar had a confused and disgusted expression on his face.

She then looked at Nazar.

“And you?”

Nazar could feel some fear in her. But she did not show it on her face.

“Anything is fine. Even water is fine.”

“And I will have the usual,” Eddie said.

“And what is your usual?” She said with a deadpan expression.

“Funny.”

She then left and returned after a few minutes.

She placed the drinks in front of them.

“Now, let’s get this party started,” Eddie said out loud.

“Party?” Nazar looked confused.

“Who wants to pull an all-nighter drinking? I am in.”

“I can handle it. I can just readjust my body and I will not be drunk at all.”

“Not me. I will be done in 30 minutes,” Jake said.

“Weakling,” Eddie said.

“You are both weak,” Nazar said as he took a sip out of another drink.

He had no idea what he was drinking.

As soon as he took a sip, he just spat everything on the ground.

“Too…*cough*...strong.”

Eddie laughed.

“Weakling.”

“And how can you drink with your healing factor? There is no point in drinking when you won’t really feel it.”

“True. But I have been training. Developing my powers. I can temporarily get rid of my healing factor.”

“Interesting. But how do you do it?”

“I have been learning magic. Solace introduced me to a magician in India.”

“Raj? Yeah, I told Solace to help you with that. So, how do you do it?”

“I can just manipulate my energies and make it focus on something else. Right now, I am using all my energies to control weather across the country. There was supposed to be a storm, but I keeping it warm.”

“I see.”

(I feel so out of place.) Jake thought.

Nazar then looked at Jake.

Nazar was not using his telepathy.

“And your barrier was stronger. Have you been training as well?”

“Ah? Oh. Yes, I have been training a little.”

“Yes, we have been working together a lot lately,” Eddie said. “When you were gone, we were the two strongest people here. So, we worked together a lot.”

“Maybe I should leave again?”

“No, no. It was so hard dealing all that shit. It took about the 2 of us to rescue a few hostages. And it took a whole day.”

Nazar laughed.

“You could have just used your telepathy and messed with your mind.”

“I still can’t do all of that… but there was something else.”

Jake’s expression turned serious.

“Something else?”

“Anti-telepathy tech. As soon as I used it, I just hurt myself.”

“Ah?”

“And in order to change the weather, I can just think about the weather and it changes… but on that day, I just couldn’t think properly.”

Nazar thought for a second.

“I think when Jake used his telepathy, it was redirected towards you.”

They both looked at him in confusion.

“Anyway, what do you mean by ‘just think about the weather and it changes’?”

“Well, when I am using my powers, the weather or energy, I just need to think about it and it happens.”

Nazar's mouth was half open in surprise.

“Are you kidding me?”

“Huh?”

“I have to do so many calculations before I can do anything. If I want to change the weather from clear sky to partly cloudy, I have to do a tremendous amount of calculations. For example, I have to calculate the speed of the wind, time, temperature, sun rays, cosmic rays, and so much more.”

“Oh man, you have it bad.”

Eddie just laughed.

“That reminds me, have you gone to space recently?”

“No.”

“Solace, do you know anything about the creatures of the Void?”

- No, Master. -

“What is that about?” Jake said.

“Lucifer said something about unleashing creatures from the Void. I need to do something about it.”

“You are saying these things too casually.”

“I agree with him,” Eddie added.

Nazar drank a whole glass of beer in one go.

“Anyway, how are things going with… that woman we saw on the moon?” Eddie asked.

Nazar gave him a confused look.

“You and Laura? That is a weird combination,” Jake looked surprised.

“...”

“So, how are things with you and Laura?” Eddie asked again.

“What things?”

Eddie’s mind went blank.

He then sighed.

“So, have you two started dating?”

Nazar just shook his head.

“Why?”

“Because she is not a redhead?”

“I see.”

“So, how about that girl over there, then?” Jake pointed at the bartender.

“Hm. She has a small chest.”

“I said that’s rude.”

“Your girlfriend also has a small chest.”

Eddie punched Nazar in the arm.

“I am not there for her looks. I love her for who she is.”

Nazar just laughed.

“Pathetic.”

“Do you even know what love is?”

“No?”

“Sigh. Jake, you tell him.”

“...?” Jake just gave him a confused look.

Eddie sighed again.

“Ah. That reminds me. Solace?”

- Yes, Master? -

“Have you found them yet?”

- Not yet. -

“I see.”

“Who?”

“It's a long story.”

“We have time.”

Nazar then told them what happened to Marco. He left out the part about how he was also the one who killed Emily.

“Wow. That is… Damn.”

“Now, I see why you two are still not dating,” Eddie said.

They stayed there for a few hours, talking about random stuff.

Nazar went back to normal and so did Eddie. Jake was still drunk. However, Nazar thought him a technique that will allow him to use his psychic energies to heal himself but he did not master it.

Planet Omega:

The Goddess of Knowledge was now standing before Omegan, her God.

However, Omegan did not look angry.

“That was a good idea. But you should have asked for help,” Omegan said. “It would have been better if we had finished that human once and for all.”

“Sorry, Omegan,” she said as she knelt before him.

“No, you did well. You took initiative and tried to finish him on your own. And now we have an idea of how powerful he is. Thank you.”

The Goddess smiled.

Omegan narrowed his eyes.

“But you went behind my orders. And that is...”

The Goddess gulped.

“...unacceptable!”

His hand twitched and she was dead. A God died. There is no resurrection for her. She is gone forever.

Omegan stood up.

Once he did, from the thin air, another God appeared.

No.

Another God was created.

“You are to be the new God of Knowledge.”

The newly created God then vanished into thin air.

“Now, then, human, what will you do next? I will give you some time,” Omegan’s face was ripped in half with a smile, “but we will meet again soon. And I will show you no mercy.”
