Volume 10: Godslayers
Arc 90 - Godslayers (Part 1)
Tuesday, 10th of September 2019:
Nazar has been looking for Marco’s family for a few days. He made Solace do it but she could not find them.
So, he first found out how they looked like and then searched for them, using his Nigh-Omnipresence. He did not find them anywhere in this universe. So, he increased his range and found them in another reality. It was Earth-143, to be exact.
He came back to Earth Prime.
Once he was here, he teleported into Laura’s house.
(Accessing Nazar 1.0.)
He started using Nazar 3.0 more often because he does not have any emotions in that form. So, it is easier for him to visit dark and scary placed before losing his cool and starts trembling in fear for no reason.
He still sees the Nameless One’s face, even in this form. But as he does not have any emotions, he does not get scared.
As soon as he appeared, it was midnight.
“Where are we?” Lena, Marco’s wife said.
Marco was sent through time in the main reality. He was not sent into another universe. He was just thrown through time.
“This? This is where your husband used to live.”
Nazar used his X-ray vision to look for Laura. She was sleeping.
(“Laura!”)
Laura was still sleeping.
Nazar sighed.
He knocked on the door’s room, but of course, there was no answer.
He went into the room.
“Yo, Laura. Get up.”
It took him a minute or so to wake her up.
“Ugh… What is it?” She said as he scratched her eyes.
“I found them. Your brother’s wife and child.”
She looked sleepy a few moments ago but now it seemed like she had lost her sleep.
“What?”
“They are right outside.”
She got up but Nazar held his hand in front of her.
“At least wear something. This will make a bad first impression.”
She looked down and she was only in her underwear.
“Why did you enter my room without my permission, you fucking pervert?” She said jokingly.
Nazar just sighed.
Nazar just left the room.
Nazar then teleported Marco into the house.
When he saw them, his eyes opened wide.
(Okay, I get the hugging part, but why are they crying? I never understood why people cry in a reunion. I need to ask someone this question.)
In the meantime, Laura came out of her room.
(Understand human emotions and… things related to it.)
He did not have to wait very long to learn what each emotion is and how each emotion ‘feels’ like. After he did that, his mind went blank.
She stood next to Nazar.
“So, they are them, right?”
“Yes.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes. I checked their DNA. It matches.”
Marco then looked at Nazar.
“Thanks.”
“Well, it was my fault.”
“Yes, you are right about that.”
He then looked at Laura.
“Sorry, sis.”
Laura smiled.
“It's okay.”
“And one more thing; the Nameless One is gone now. So, I don’t think he will be back any time soon, even if he is not dead.”
“So, he is not dead?”
“He is mostly dead. And even if he is alive, it will take him thousands of years to recover. He had nothing left.”
“Why did you not kill him?”
“You cannot fully ‘kill’ a being made of pure energy.”

“I see. Anyway, take us back to our home.”
“You can stay here if you want,” Laura said.
“Live with you again? Hahaha. You are funny.”
“Then, I will leave this house to you, if you--”
“No. I don’t want to live in this miserable house.”
Nazar just kept quiet.
“Fine. Then, at least take the money. You might need it. Please? If not for yourself, then for them.”
“And where would you get that much money?”
“I have my savings.”
Laura returned after a few minutes and handed him the money. It was in a small briefcase.
When Nazar saw that, he thought about crime films, where the money is being transferred in briefcases and was about to laugh, but then he controlled himself.
“Take this money. It is all of my savings and mama and papa’s too.”
He opened the briefcase and saw a lot of money.
“It is two million Euros in total. Use it wisely.”
“... Thanks, sis.”
They were then teleported out. They were now in Poland.
Laura and Nazar were left alone.
She sat on the sofa and her eyes welled up.
(Oookay. It’s time to take my leave.)
Nazar prepared to teleport out but…
“So, why did you bring them here?”
“I don’t know… I thought maybe you guys could live together or something?”
“Well, thanks for that, but it was useless.”
“Sorry. I know it was not my place--”
“It’s okay.”
“Okay, then by--”
“Can we talk?”
Nazar looked confused.
“Please, sit down.”
Nazar sat next to her.
(This is awkward.)
“Why are you increasing the distance between us?”
“I told you, it is for your own good. If you stay close to me, something even worse than this might happen.”
“You should have thought of this earlier.”
“I know and I am sorry that I realised this too late.”
Nazar took a deep breath.
Nazar stood up.
He was about to leave, but she held him by his hand.
Nazar gave her a confused look.
“Please...” She said in a trembling voice.
“...?”
“Please don’t leave me alone.”
“...”
“First mama and papa and then Marco… and now you. Please don’t do this to me.”
“Ah?”
“Please don’t leave me alone.”
She held his hand very tight.
“Please don’t leave me alone.”
Nazar placed his other hand on her hand and he crouched down.
“What if you meet the same fate as Emily?”
“My life is already bad enough.”
“...”
“But being around you, I can truly feel happy… and safe.”
“I just said--”
“I KNOW WHAT YOU JUST SAID. But...it is my choice.”
She looked him right in the eyes.
“So, please don’t leave me.”
“...”
“I love you.”
Nazar’s eyes widened.
“I love you. And I missed you. So… So, please don’t leave me alone.”
Nazar smiled.
(This still feels weird.)
“I… I love you, too. And I will not leave you behind.”
She hugged him. And as Nazar was crouching, he fell over.
“Thank you.”
Nazar wiped her tears.
“And please stop crying.”
She smiled.
They stayed like that for a few minutes.
“Okay, can you get up now?”
“Can we stay like this for a while?”
Nazar sighed.
“Okay.”
“Your heart is beating very fast. I can literally feel it.”

“...”
She then kissed him.
After a few minutes, Nazar said, “Okay, can you get off now?”
“Yeah, sorry.”
She moved away.
“Phew. I thought my leg was going to break.”
“And what was that going to do?”
“Nothing.”
She laughed.
“You are so weird.”
Nazar stood up.
“Anyway, I need to go to sleep. I am kind of tired.”
“You can sleep here. The couch is free.”
Nazar gave her a blank look.
“I have a bed at home.”
She wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Come back tomorrow, will you? I want to tell you something.”
“Okay.”
She kissed him.
And then Nazar teleported out.
However, he did not appear at his home. He appeared inside his spaceship.
His original spaceship was destroyed when the Nameless One destroys the original Solace, but he then recreated it when he was recreating his other tech.
(10 hours.)
“Solace?”
(Accessing Nazar 3.0.)
- I am here, Master. -
“Have you found anything?”
- No. Nothing. Sorry, Master. -
“Damn it. Anyway, remind me in 10 hours. I need to go back to Earth.”
- Okay, Master. -
(I know the energies of the Void a little. Now, I just need to trace it.)
Nazar closed his eyes.
(Nigh-Omnipresence. Just present. Just this universe. Follow the energy. Nothing else.)
Nazar followed through all forms of energies that were familiar with the energies of the Void. However, he found nothing. He looked for it again and then again and then again but found nothing.
He knew it was useless but he still tried it anyway.
(Nigh-Omnipresence. Off.)
- Master? -
“Nothing. I could not trace it.”
- So, what are you going to do? -
“Travel across the universe. Find them in a different way.”
- Okay. Would you need the help of the others? -
“Not now. But yes. Soon. Because it is not a personal issue. It's a universal matter.”
Nazar teleported out.
He appeared at the edge of the universe. The same place where Lucifer appeared as a low-class angel. This was the same place where Lucifer manipulated the reality to try and bring forth the creatures of the Void.
Nazar looked around and analysed the place. He tried to find out residual energies, but all the energies are of this universe. There is nothing from that God forsaken place.
He then moved to the other ends of the universe.
He did not find anything.
After 7 hours of searching different parts of the universe randomly, he returned back to his spaceship.
- Master? -
“Nothing. I found nothing.”
- You have 3 hours left. -
Nazar teleported out and went back to his home. He went to his bed and started sleeping.
Monday, 9th of September 2019:
New York City, USA - Bradley Conglomerates HQ:
Ishaya Bradley was sitting in his office when someone entered the room. It was not his assistant or any of his employees.
“You knew about his return before, did you not?” The man said as soon as he entered the room.
“Whose return?”
“Codename: Demon Lord.”
“Codename: Demon Lord?” Ishaya pretended to look confused.
“Come on, don’t bullshit me. You know damn well what I am talking about. I am talking about the walking talking time bomb, Nazar.”
“I see. And why do you think I knew about that?”
“Well, you brought your proposal at the PERFECT time. And besides that, you have tech that said can help us against him. So, you knew when he returned but did not tell us.”
Ishaya stood up.
“Did you know all the satellites were destroyed, right?”
“Yes, of course, we knew that.”
“There. You answered your question. And now that the satellites are back, I should be able to get back to work.”
“I have not told anyone this, but I know what you are up to. You also took a few kids hostage just to test out your new tech. For our friendship, I managed to give you a pass. But if others find out about this - you knowing about classified information regarding Nazar and are able to track him - then things could get back for you. And I want to know one more thing, how did you get access to classified information”
Ishaya shrugged.
“So, tell you, you knew about him, didn’t you?”
Ishaya looked outside the window.
“Yes, I did. From the moment he came back here. I knew that he was very weak. And I had a satellite up in the air in less than a week. It took you guys longer. Pathetic, really.”
The man sighed.
“If you are to ever introduce a proposal like this, you have to go through me. You raised a lot of suspicions. Knowing this much information about him could get you killed by a people in the government. Some of them pretend like they owe that bastard something.“
Ishaya sighed.
“I know that he killed your mother when he went on a rampage. And then he killed your brother recently when he got ‘superpowers’. So, I am doing this for you, old friend. I want to spot things like this from happening. The governments will not do anything like this, but I can.”
“...”
“I am very close to find a way to depower him. Even if a little. Just cover for me for a little longer and then I will have something.”
He turned around and faced the man.
“I have found some weak spots for him.”
The other man thought for a while.
“Fine. How long do you need?”
Ishaya smiled.
“I need a few more battles on Earth. Can you help me with that?”
The man’s eyes widened.
“I have developed some powerful armours. I want mercenaries. From the government. We should do this legally.”
“I… I will try to bring this to my superiors.”
“Thank you.”
The man left.
“Thank you, Norse God. I have found a way to use ‘magic’ to my advantage.”
He sat down on his chair.
“I have found a way to access interdimensional energies without paying the price for it. Without losing my life force.”
He smiled.
“It’s time to kill a God.”
He tapped something on the keyboard and an image of a power suit appeared. It might have looked like plain bodysuits, but they were very powerful.
It was a black bodysuit with a star on the chest of it. And it also had a helmet. This suit allows them to harness interdimensional energies and use ‘magic’ without spells and paying the price with their life force.
“It’s time for the Project Godslayer to do its job.”

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!
