Arc 94 - Godslayers (Part 5)

Nazar and Solace were floating above London. And they have been here for more than 30 minutes.

Nazar kept looking at Solace.

“I said, stop looking at me in lewd ways.”

“I am not.”

“Then stop staring at me.”

“You know what? You don’t deserve to be this beautiful.”

Solace sighed and then they vanished into thin air.

“What?”

They appeared in Laura’s house.

“Oh, you are back. So, how is the situation in London?”

Laura was watching TV.

“Solved for now.”

“Why do you keep coughing blood?”

“I don’t know.”

“And tell him to stop looking at me in lewd ways,” Solace said with a deadpan expression.

Laura then looked at Nazar.

“I see… so you already started cheating on me?”

“Solace, I can destroy you with just a thought.”

“Well, you should stop cheating on me.”

Nazar gave her a blank look.

“You do know, she is a redhead, right?”

“I can get a wig, too.”

“Natural over a wig.”

Solace gave an expression that resembled a confused look.

“You do know that my hair is not natural, right?”

“Goddamnit, Solace, be on my side for once.”

“Stop annoying me. I am trying to do my job here.”

“Ah?”

Solace sat down on the floor and pressed her back against the wall. Then she closed her eyes.

“I can’t believe you let her talk to you like that,” Laura said.

“It is kind of fun, though.”

Nazar sat next to Laura.

“You look better than you did in the morning,” Laura said.

“Yeah, well, I kind of ‘rebooted’ myself.”

“Did you see him again?”

“...Yes.”

She placed her arm on his shoulder.

“Are you okay?”

“Yes. And what about you? Are you okay?”

Laura was taken by surprise with that question.

“Yeah, I am fine.”

“Are you sure?”

“...Yes.”

Laura laughed slowly.

“Why are you asking this anyway?”

“Well, with what happened with your brother. I just wanted to know if you are okay?”

Laura sighed.

Nazar placed his hand on her forehead.

“Hm?”

“Your heart is beating pretty fast. So, I thought maybe you are ill?”

“Maybe it’s something else,” she added a wink at the end.

Nazar was confused.

She went even closer and kissed him.

“We have not done anything since our first kiss.”

“...?”

“Like go out or eat together or do something much better.”

“Huh?”

“Come with me.”

“Huh?”

She stood up and pulled him after her.

“If I leave this to you, it will never happen.”

Nazar gulped.

“I… I have no idea what you are trying to say.”

He pretended he did not know what she was saying, but he knew exactly what she meant.

She opened the room of her bedroom and entered it.

“Come on, we both know you wanted to do this too.”

(Maybe.)

“Want what?”

She pushed him down on the bed.

“Now, turn off your powers.”

“Okay?”

Nazar did as Laura said.

However, his heart was beating very fast.

“A-are you sure?”

“Why not? It’s not a big deal.”

“I see.”

“Wait, you know what I am talking about?”

“Yes?”

Laura smiled.

She sat on top of him and then she took off her top.

After a little while:

Nazar was still lying on the bed and Laura was sitting on the side of the bed.

She was putting on her top.

“Why don’t you use that device I gave you?” Nazar said as his clothes started to appear.

“Well, I thought if someone taps it by accident, I might be left naked. So, I stopped using it.”

“That’s not how it works. It does what you want it to do. If you don’t want it off you, it won’t come off.”

“I see.”

Nazar sat up on the bed.

“I am hungry. What about you?” Nazar asked.

“Me too.”

“Want to go eat somewhere?”

“No chicken wings.”

“Damn it.”

Laura smiled.

“You know, I thought you would be clueless about this stuff… but you are not.”

“Some time ago, I sent my consciousness inside the digital space and saw a lot of things… Even the weird stuff. So, you know… I know it from there.”

She stood up.

“So, where do you want to go and eat?”

“This is your city. How am I supposed to know this place?”

“I see.”

“And if possible, I would like to meet Aria. It’s been a while. I want to see if she is fine. And tell her about Emma.”

“She does not know yet?”

“No.”

“I see. Do you want me to go with you?”

“No, I should be fine. Plus, my aunt is kind of weird so… And also, she calls you Ms Milk Tanks.”

Laura laughed.

“Wait for me to get ready and then I know this really cool place close by.”

While Nazar and Laura were having sex, Solace found something. And she reported immediately to Nazar as soon as Laura came out of the room.

“Nazar, you won’t believe this...”

Nazar gulped.

“Their data does not suggest anything that could be related to you, superhumans or today’s incidents. They are just normal business data.”

Nazar sighed.

“That’s disappointing. I was hoping he was behind it so we can be over with this.”

“Want me to camouflage you?”

“I can do that myself.”

“Okay.”

“And you can wait for me at home. You can turn into an N-Sphere if this form is using more energy than necessary.”

“Not really. I am using the energy surrounding us as a power source. And it is endless.”

“I know that. I made you.”

“It sounds weird coming from you.”

Nazar sighed.

Solace left and Nazar just waited for Laura to get ready.

“Let’s go.”

Nazar enabled his camouflage. It adds facial hair, changing the colour of eyes, becomes shorter, he loses his muscles and wearing different kind of clothes with sunglasses and a hat. Of course, Laura sees the real Nazar but everyone else does not see Nazar.

They started to walk in a random direction. Well, Laura knew where she was going but to Nazar, it seemed like a random direction.

While they walked, they talked about the other versions they saw.

After a little while, they reached their destination. It was an old pizza place.

Nazar gave her a blank look but Laura just ignored him.

“You must eat this pizza. This has been my favourite place for years.”

Nazar sighed.

“Fine.”

They bought the pizza and did not sit down to eat. They took it with them and went to a park and started eating it there.

“What do you think?”

“Still don’t like cheese.”

“Seriously? I am disappointed.”

“So am I. You don’t like chicken wings.”

There was a little silence.

“Should we be eating in a park? And why did you get so many?”

“I thought you would be hungry. And it's only 2 pizzas.”

“I am but… it is pizza. If it was--”

“Yeah, yeah. I know. But you must eat them all. You must start liking pizza from now on.”

“And you must start liking chicken wings.”

“I love them. And you must start to like pizza.”

“Okay.”

“Pinky promise?”

“Cool.”

Nazar laughed.

“I don’t know why but this feels weird and awesome at the same time?”

“I get what you mean.”

Laura sighed.

“And stop being so awkward?”

“Hm?”

“You are sitting on the other side of the bench and you are not even making an eye contact.”

“I… I am trying, okay?”

“And you did not even make eye contact once when we were having--”

“Okay, okay. I get it.”

Laura brought her face close to him and just stared at him.

“And stop blushing so much.”

“I AM NOT!”

She sat back in her place.

“You are such as tsundere.”

“Do you even know what that means?”

“Yes. I watched a few videos of what anime tsundere anime girls were like. So, yeah, I know what it means.”

“Just by watching a video?”

“Yes?”

Nazar nodded.

“Hey.”

“What?”

“I love you.”

Nazar’s shoulder jerked.

And Laura laughed.

“Haha. I am going to have so much fun with you.”

Nazar sighed.

“But still, you should stop being awkward around me. I am your girlfriend now.”

“I am trying to… but it just feels like it is going very fast, no?”

“True. Buuut if I left it for you, it would have taken us over 20 years to do what we did today.”

“I see where you are coming from.”

“I am glad we took this out of the way.”

“...?”

“Are you not glad?”

Nazar did not reply.

“I--”

“Nazar. They have attacked once more.”

Solace appeared out of thin air and told him that.

“What?!”

“There are more of them… and according to their energy readings, they are far stronger.”

“I will be at home if you want to talk about anything,” Laura said.

Nazar nodded and vanished into thin air.

London - Bradley Conglomerates HQ:

Ishaya Bradley and members of his science team were still going through the data.

“May I ask a question?” One of them asked.

“Go ahead,” Ishaya replied immediately.

“Why do you want to kill him anyway?”

“...”

Ishaya thought about for a minute.

“No real reason. I just hate him.”

“I see...”

“Back on the topic, can you really do anything against him with this data?” Ishaya asked in a disinterested voice.

“Not according to the data… but in the last few days, he seems a little soft?”

Everyone gave him a confused look.

“Have you seen any of his recent fights? Against that woman who called herself a ‘Goddess’, he seemed like he was holding back. He has been going very easy on the mercenaries.”

“We all noticed.”

“Maybe if we find a way to exploit him mentally, then--”

“Then that could work,” Ishaya said.

Ishaya thought about it for a minute.

“But how?”

“We can always attack him again. We can use that opportunity to find out if he will freeze again. Then we can use that to see if we can narrow it down to what causes him to freeze.”

“And what about Italy? He goes there a lot.”

“...”

Everyone in the room exchanged glances.

“We need to keep a close eye on where he goes. Send someone right now to check where he always goes. And if possible, tell them not kill if someone is there. We might be able to use them against him,” Ishaya said.

“And what if they are a superhuman or an alien? The possibility of that is not zero.”

“True. But if that happens, then they can kill them.”

Ishaya sent an email to someone.

“Now, then, let’s see why you go there a lot.”
