《New Life》Chapter 147 - Hell (Part 6)

Wednesday, 16th of October 2019:
It was very early in the morning and Nazar was floating in the middle of the space.
And all of a sudden, a demon appeared around him.
“What you did is unthinkable. We have decided to get rid of your forever.”
Nazar snorted.
“I will find a way out.”
The demon laughed.
“That won’t happen. Trust me on that.”
Nazar did not believe him.
“You made a mistake. You attacked hell.”
He knew that they could not kill him, so he did not take the threat very seriously.
However, he was wrong.
The demon appeared in front of his and punched a hole through his chest.
The demon then separated his soul from his body.
And Nazar smiled.
“Finally!”
His soul and body were separate. He could see what he was seeing usually and could hear the same. But no one else could see him. And he could not enter his body.
And he did not really care.
But then someone else appeared.
Three other demons appeared.
And they were holding dead bodies of some people.
He looked at one of them and it was Aria.
His eyes widened in shock.
He looked at the other and it was Laura.
And then he looked at the other one and saw Emma.
“Nooo!”
He tried to fight back but the demon shot an energy beam towards him.
Nazar could not dodge it no matter how hard he tried.
“Nooooo--”
As he was shouting that, his soul vanished. He died forever.
“Oooo…??”
Nazar opened his eyes and found out that it was just a dream.
He took a few deep breaths… but then noticed something else.
“!!”
When he slept, he was sleeping on the sofa. Now, he was in the same place, but his head was resting on someone’s thigh.
He immediately looked up and saw Aarin.
“Bad dream?”
Nazar rubbed his eyes.
“Kind of.”
Nazar tried to get up but Aarin placed her hand on his head.
“It’s okay, you can stay like that.”
“...”
“I know what happened yesterday.”
“Huh?”
“Maybe she meant it, maybe she didn’t. But--”
“I don’t care about that.”
“But--”
“I am kind of glad I heard her say it again.”
Nazar took a deep breath.
“I just wished she was a bit more truthful with me.”
“Well, it is your fault. You could have just used your te--”
“That’s the last thing I want to do.”
Aarin was surprised.
“Back in the day, I hated it because they had all these good lives and it pissed me off. Now, I don’t because I respect their privacy. And if I don’t like someone inside my head, they wouldn’t like it either.”
Aarin gave him a blank look.
“Sometimes.”
Aarin thought about something.
“You know, you are probably thinking life is hard… but I will have you know, it will get harder from here on.”
Nazar looked at her.
“We are immortals. Being who live for a very long time. We need to get used to losing people. Their lives are short. So short that it would seem like absolutely nothing.”
She ran her fingers through his hair.
She was trying to fix his hair with her fingers.
“Maybe their lives are short. Maybe that time is too short compared to us. But it is not insignificant.”
“...”
Nazar did not know what she was trying to say.
“The time we spend with them and their love that is what makes it significant.”

“What are--”
“I know you are sad about losing your foster parents. But I want you to remember the goods times you shared with them. Remember their good, not their bad.”
She smiled.
“Don’t waste all your time thinking about what you could have done but think about what you should do from now on. Think about how those decisions will shape your life. And decisions that will shape your battles.”
Nazar was kind of confused as to how the topic changed so quickly.
“So, don’t live in the past. You need to think more about your future.”
Aarin sighed.
“You don’t get it, right?”
Nazar shook his head.
“Anyway, why are you here?”
Aarin was not expecting that questions.
Why am I here?
It was a simple question that went through her head.
Was she here because she saw what happened between Nazar and Alice?
Or was she here because she wanted to see Nazar?
Or was there an ulterior motive to her visit?
“Why are you still around?”
Aarin looked confused.
“You still need to use me?”
Her confused expression was turned into a surprised one.
“I am a weapon. So, if you are here then it means you need me.”
Aarin laughed.
And this time Nazar was the one who was confused.
“Do you really think that you are a weapon and a tool to me?”
Nazar nodded.
“No.”
Aarin shook her head.
“You are-- You know how I said you that you are like a son to me? Maybe not a son but a younger brother is more fitting.”
When Aarin found out that Nazar always wanted to die, she told him how she always saw him as her son.
“You are very dear to me. You are like a younger brother to me. I have never even dreamt of trying to use you.”
She took a deep breath.
“Yes, I did need your help against Zerathos. But you wouldn’t help, so I had to do something.”
When Aarin first asked Nazar to help her defeat Zerathos he did not really believe her. He thought she was probably just joking. So, Aarin ‘returned’ his memories to him. But that was all Nazar’s plan.
“If you weren’t around, the world would have been different. I would have lost and Earth would have been hell. Your help was necessary. I didn’t use you. I needed your help. And you did just that.”
Nazar was not sure how to react.
“I am not here today because I need you. No, I want you by my side.”
“Huh?”
“I will always want you by my side. I am that older sister you can depend on.”
“Okay.”
“So, if you ever think I will use you, then you are mistaken. I will punch you, kick you and kill you before I use like a ‘tool’ or ‘weapon’.”
“...”
“Just know this, I love you like a brother and no one would use their brother like a tool. And Alice loves you as well. I am sure Alice was scared of you when she said it the first time. But maybe she said it yesterday to save you from those demons?”
“It is possible...”
There was silence for a little while.
“How old are you?” Nazar asked her.
“It’s not nice to ask a lady about her age.”
Nazar gave her a blank look.
“I have excited since ‘love’ has been a thing.”
“You are old.”
She smacked him on the head.

“Thanks,” Nazar said very slowly.
Aarin was confused.
“Well--Hm?”
Nazar felt a rift being opened.
Before he could react, Lucifer appeared out of thin air.
When he saw Nazar using Aarin’s lap as a lap pillow, he was confused.
“Maybe I should come another--”
“Nah, it's cool.”
Nazar sat up.
“Please sit.”
Nazar point to the sofa opposite them.
“So, why did you come now?”
“I was in this universe and wanted to talk to you.”
“What if I was asleep?”
“It might sound weird and creepy but I know that you wake up around 5 AM. And well, it is 5.10 now.”
Nazar looked Aarin.
“What were you doing in this universe?”
“That is why I am here to talk about.”
“Okay, but first I need to do something.”
Nazar got up.
“Want anything to drink, Aarin?”
“Wine.”
“Fuck off.”
“Ah?”
“Alcohol is bad for you.”
Aarin sighed.
“Anything is fine.”
Nazar then looked at Lucifer.
“You?”
“Nothing. Anyway, can we get back on topic?”
“Not yet.”
Lucifer sighed.
Nazar came back after a few minutes and he had three mugs of hot chocolate.
He placed one in front of himself, another in front of Aarin and another in front of Lucifer.
Lucifer gave him a blank look.
And then he sighed again.
Nazar sat next to Aarin.
“So, what did you want to talk about?”
“Do you remember our ‘battle’ against Michael?”
Nazar nodded.
“Well, since you had a barrier around it--”
“And when I released it, it created new beings? Yes, I know about that.”
“Ah, I see.”
Lucifer paused for a little while.
“Well, that’s not all. The power scale of this universe is changing. People who didn’t have powers, they have it now. And weaker people are far more powerful.”
“Huh?”
“Let me explain.”
In Lucifer’s hand, a piece of paper appeared.
“Let’s look at it this way.”
On the paper, 10 numbers appeared.
“Michel was level 9. I was level 8 in my full power. A high-class demon is level 7. Aarin was a level 6 when she first got a power-up. And you were level 2. And that friend Reaper of yours was a level 1.”
“Was?”
“That is what I am trying to get at.”
The numbers changed.
Another level was added.
It went from 10 to 11.
“But right now, in this universe, something changed. If Michael was now around in that power, he would be a level 10. If I was at my full power, I would be 9. If a high-class demon comes to this universe, they would be a level 8. You are level 3 now. And your friend is level 2.”
Nazar was confused.
“So, what do these levels mean?”
“It means, everyone who has powers is stronger in this universe than they were. And they are getting stronger.”
Nazar was still confused.
Lucifer sighed.
“And anyone who enters this universe, they automatically get stronger. I felt stronger when I entered this universe.”
“So, what can I do about it?”
The paper in Lucifer’s hand vanished.
“I want you to take care of this problem.”
“And how exactly am I supposed to do this?”
“First of all, get all these ‘Cosmic Entities’ together. Once they come together, you will see a new form of energy. Get rid of that energy and ‘purify’ them. Get rid of that abnormal energy from all of them.”
“And why exactly should I do this?”
“Because that abnormal energy exists because you created a barrier around the battlefield. And because you brought out all those beings when you ripped Michael in half. So, it is your problem and take care of it.”
“...”
“If you don’t take care of it, a lot of powerful beings, who would not come to this universe before would come here. Power is something different. Ranking up a level is a big deal. Trust me.”
Aarin did not say anything. She was just listening.
“And frankly, I don’t really care. It’s not my problem. But I thought I should give you a heads up as a thank you.”
“Well, thanks.”
Lucifer got up.
“Do it for your own good. The sooner the better.”
Lucifer vanished into thin air.
“Well, I should have taken care of this earlier.”
Nazar sighed.
“Ah, my hot chocolate is all cold now.”
He touched it and it was hot again.
He used his temperature manipulation and ‘fixed’ his hot chocolate.
He then looked at Aarin who was staring at an empty space.
Nazar then followed her eyes and saw where she was looking.
“I noticed, you were staring at Lucifer all this time and you are basically blushing AND YOU ARE BASICALLY DROOLING?!”
Aarin looked at him.
“Did you say something?”
Nazar sighed again.
“Why were you staring at him? You made him so uncomfortable… I think.”
“Well, isn’t he dreamy?”
“NO, HE IS NOT!”
“I kissed him the other day.”
Nazar’s mind went completely blank. And his body froze too.
Aarin waved her hand in front of him and he did not respond.
“Hello?”
Aarin then tapped his shoulder and he did not respond.
She then punched him in the face and he flew through the wall.
However, he was conscious now and he rebuilt it back.
“What the hell, Aarin?!”
“Well, you weren’t responding--”
“I am not talking about that. You kissed the fucking Lucifer! Do you have any idea what that means?”
Aarin shook her head.
“What if he took it in the wrong way and killed you?! Or--”
“But he didn’t.”
Nazar sat next to her.
“Or what if his wife or girlfriend came and killed you.”
“He is single.”
“Did you really think it is okay to kiss the most powerful being in the universe?”
“I also one of them, remember?”
“But what if you had died?”
Aarin just shrugged.
“Oh well… It happened now--”
Aarin trailed off because Emma opened the door.
“Do you guys know how loud you are?”
“Shit, sorry. I thought I had soundproofed the room.”
“Sorry,” Aarin said.
Emma yawned.
“Why were you guys shouting anyway?”
“Well, this one right here,” Nazar said as he pointed at Aarin, “kissed the freaking Lucifer. Like what if he had killed you.”
Emma was frozen in shock.
“You are worried about me?”
“N-no. I don’t c-care if you get killed. I just like to have an angel on my side. It will make life easier.”
“I see.”
“Y-you kissed the devil?”
Nazar frowned.
“He is a fallen angel, Emma. I told you this before.”
“What’s the big deal again?” Emma said casually.
Nazar was surprised.
“See? She understands.”
“Am I the only one who thinks it is a bad idea to do something like that to a being who can destroy us all?”
“Why are you overreacting?” Emma said as she sat down.
“Yeah, why am I overreacting? I don’t care if you die, you useless angel.”
Aarin smacked him on the head.
Nazar sighed.
“Anyway, I need to take care of those cosmic entities.”
“Don’t kill them,” Emma said immediately.
“I won’t. I need them alive… I think they are needed?”
They all sat in silence for a little while.
“Why did I wake up so early?” Emma muttered.
“Sorry.”
“Sorry.”
Both Nazar and Aarin said at the same time.
Nazar looked at his hot chocolate and frowned. He forgot to drink it.
“I am going to make breakfast. Anyone is hungry?” Nazar said.
“Well, it is a little early but oh well.”
“Who eats breakfast at 6?” Emma asked.
Nazar raised his hand.
And so did Aarin.
Emma shook her head.
“You guys are weird.”
Nazar and Aarin exchanged glances.
“Are we?”
“Are we?”
They both shook their heads simultaneously.
“Nope, we are not.”
“Nope, we are not.”
Emma held her head in her hands.
“Are all powerful people like this?”
