Chapter 171 - Battle for Planet Earth (Part 6)

Tuesday 29th of October 2019 - Earth - unknown dimension:

It was around 3 AM in the night.

Nazar was sitting beside his bed and Laura was lying in it.

He was sleeping.

He had been here since yesterday noon. He has been constantly healing her and constantly changing her blood and other stuff in her body to get rid of the poison. And he finally managed to do it a few hours ago.

She was fine now but he sat there expecting something bad to happen again.

But before he knew it, he had fallen asleep.

Solace was standing next to the bed. She was monitoring Laura’s condition.

“Ungh…”

Solace immediately checked her vitals.

“What...happened?”

Laura said as she rubbed her eyes.

“Oh, you are awake. And seem to be in perfect health.”

She looked to her side and saw Nazar.

“I should wake hi--”

“Nah, it's fine. Leave him be.”

She moved a little closer and placed her hand on his head.

She then ran her fingers in his hair.

“So, what happened?”

“A lot.”

She then told her what happened and what might happen.

“Oh...”

And then she told her what happened to her today.

“O-oh.”

She stared at the ceiling.

“So, what happened to… uh, Mark?”

“He died.”

“Did he kill him?”

“There was no other option.”

She looked at her in surprise and confusion.

“He had this abnormal energy within him and he was going to blow up. Nazar told me that it could level a whole city. So, he tried to save him and the city, but he couldn’t. He couldn’t understand the energies and his very being. If he hadn’t killed him and then erased him, the whole city would have been turned into ashes.”

“Oh… He was always a weirdo. Not saying that he deserved to die… but...”

“He did try to kill you. And nearly destroyed the whole city if Nazar hadn’t gotten rid of him. I don’t condemn of him killing people like before… but he had no choice here.”

“Yeah, I know. Honestly, I couldn’t care less if he killed him. I am just...”

She paused for a little while.

“I just don’t want him to go on that path again.”

“I… I don’t...”

She was not sure what to say.

“Ah!!”

Nazar gasped and started to breathe heavily.

“Nazar?”

“Wh-what happened?”

He looked behind him and saw Laura.

His body relaxed a little.

“Oh...”

He let out a soft breath.

“What happened, Nazar?”

“I felt the other person again.”

“Who?”

“I don’t know… but the one who was on Earth not too long and who here in London today. I felt them but did not have time to look for them.”

“So, what happened now?”

“They came to my dream… Which should not be possible since I don’t really dream unless I want to. And when Solace put me to sleep, I did not choose to dream. So, for some reasons I dreamt.”

“Oh?”

Laura had no idea what Nazar and Solace were talking about.

Yes, it was easy to understand but it was because Nazar chose to speed in super speed with Solace.

“Whatever they were, they came to my dream. And it made me rewatch the scene today in which Laura dies. I couldn’t save her. And then it started to repeat over and over and over again until I got out of there by forcefully shutting off my brains and then ‘restarting’ it.”

“I see. Interesting.”

“Whoever they are, they are extremely powerful. And they are hard to analyse and counter.”

“I tried analysing it but I found something interesting.”

“What did you find?”

“You do remember that divine energy? The one you had when you were an omnipotent god.”

“What does….”

“This energy is a variation of that. Not the same but very, very similar. Which is why it’s very similar to angelic and demonic energies.”

“Oh.”

Nazar stood up.

He sighed.

“It does not make sense.”

“Yeah, it doesn’t… but I have a theory.”

“What if...”

“What if?”

“You see how there was an ‘omnipotent god’ - the Supreme One - then what if there was something or someone else. The devil.”

Nazar gave her a blank look.

Then he laughed.

“How on Earth did you come to that conclusion?”

He was talking at normal speed now.

“Well, since those energies are very similar, I thought it would make sense if he was the devil.”

“What are two talking about?” Laura sounded confused,

“Honestly, no idea.”

Nazar was still laughing.

He stopped laughing for a little while.

“Ahem. Solace, can you give us a second?”

Laura was confused.

But Solace nodded and teleported out of here.

“...Sorry.”

“Don’t worry about it.”

“But--”

“I said, don’t worry about it. I was expecting this for a long time now. I know, it's not the things I should be expecting… but what is normal in my life? What has ever been normal in my life?”

“Laura...”

Nazar felt guilty. Her life has been like this because of him.

“My parents were actually some undead. My brother was ‘cursed’. My parents ‘died’ again - by your hands. My brother goes missing. Then he comes back and is old. And has a family. And he hates me. And he is happy...”

Her eyes welled up.

She placed her hands on her face.

“I went to meet them a few times but it has been useless. I didn’t even know where they lived until 6 days ago. I had to ask Solace for that. She told me that they live in Spain. Since when? I don’t know. Should I have known that? Yes. He is my brother.”

“...”

Nazar’s guilt skyrocketed.

He should have been here.

And then he remembered what Emma told him.

You think everything surrounds around you.

He remembered that.

It raced inside his mind.

He believed the world did not revolve around him. Neither did the universe. And neither did the whole existence. Not anymore. Even if he is the god of it, he won’t accept that it revolves around him.

(Even if it did, it does not revolve around me yet. Maybe in the future, it does, but not now.)

He sat down on the bed next to her.

“...”

He wanted to say something but he did not what to say.

So, there was silence for a little while.

“Hey, is it selfish...”

Nazar looked back at her.

“He is happy. He has a great family. A great life. So, is it selfish to say that I wish we could back to how it was? When he was always there with me?”

“...”

Nazar did not what to say.

What could he?

She chuckled.

“Of course, it is selfish. What am I even saying?”

“Maybe it is selfish...”

She did not expect him to say anything, so she was surprised.

“And yes, as you said, it is. But you are a human. With emotions and everything. So, of course, you would want to be happy. This is what humans are. We want us to be happy, not even thinking about what others feel. So, maybe it's not so selfish.”

“...?”

She was confused about what he was saying.

“Sorry. That was a weird thing to say. I have no idea what I am saying sometimes.”

He had a feeling he made things worse.

She was not really feeling well but he had a feeling he made it worse.

“Haha.”

He heard a laugh.

Nazar was confused.

“What the fuck? What kind of… whatever you just said?”

Nazar shrugged.

“I… I....”

“Man, you come with some weird shit.”

“Sorry.”

He felt guilty about what he said earlier.

Maybe it wasn’t the right thing, but for some reasons, she was laughing.

“I never thought I would hear you say some… philosophical (?) shit like that.”

Nazar took a deep breath and sighed.

There was silence again for a little while.

“Hey, what’s going to happen?”

She placed her hand on his shoulder and pulled him back.

His head was resting on her chest.

“To the other Earths, I mean.”

“So, you know?”

“Yes. Solace told me.”

“Oh.”

She ran her fingers on his face.

For some reasons, it felt really good for Nazar.

He felt a little relaxed.

“So, you already assume that this Earth will win?”

“Of course.”

“I want to save them all. All the Earths. I don’t want any of them to be destroyed.”

She was not really surprised.

In fact, she felt a little happy and smiled.

“Can you do it?”

“No. But that’s what I am working on. I will find a way in the next days. I don’t want them to die. No, I won’t let them die.”

She removed her hand from his face.

“That’s good to hear.”

She then flicked his nose.

“Ow?”

“Did you feel that?”

“Well yes, but not the pain.”

She flicked his nose again.

“So, you don’t feel any pain?”

Nazar shook his head.

“Not since the… Nameless One.”

“Oh.”

She then yawned.

“Why am I feeling tired?”

“I guess because you did not rest properly and all that pain?”

“Oh. Then I guess I will go to sleep.”

“Oh okay.”

“And you should do.”

“I just woke up.”

“Yeah, but have you slept properly in the last few days?”

“Well… not really.”

“She moved to one side. It’s cold, so you should sleep here.”

Nazar sighed.

He lied down next to her.

“How do you sleep in those jeans?”

“Eh, it's not that bad… I guess.”

“Maybe you should change it.”

Nazar’s clothes changed.

“You know, you still owe me a shirt and--”

“Shut up, you greedy bitch.”

Nazar laughed.

“Fine, I will get you something. Maybe something even better.”

“Oh?”

“It’s a present, so I am not going to tell you yet.”

“Ah, I see. Hopefully, it's not a bomb that will kill me.”

She sighed.

"Just what do you think I am?"

Earth-6:

Nazar of Earth-6 was flying above the city. It was the middle of the night.

He was analysing something when he got a call.

“What is it, mom?”

“- What are you doing? You have not been home for days. And whatever is-- -”

“I… I know, mom. And I am sorry but… but...”

He did not know how to continue it.

“- Come here and talks to us, if you need to talk to someone. We are your parents. -”

“...”

“- Is it about a girl? -”

“Wh-what the…? NO! It’s about something much bigger.”

“- You got married? -”

Nazar sighed.

“Fine. I will come and tell you.”

He cut off the call and teleported home.

He then got changed before entering the living room.

“Oh, I was expecting a girl with you?” Nazar’s mother said jokingly.

Nazar sighed.

“I don’t have a girlfriend. And what is your obsession with my love life?”

“Eh, I don't know. You have always been the shy one and now you have powers and still shy,” Emma said.

“Har Har… so funny.”

He sat down on the floor.

"I still don't get why you guys care so much about my 'love life'."

He took a deep breath.

“The world is going to end.”

“...!!!”

“??”

“Huh?”

“What?”

His parents and his siblings exchanged confused glances.

It was a bomb that got dropped out of nowhere.

“You see all those other Earths in the orbit?”

They nodded.

“Well, the person who brought them here wants us to fight. And only one Earth will survive.”

“And--”

Before his mother could say anything, Nazar continued to speak.

“We have to fight and one Earth survives. I don’t know why that man wants us to fight but it's the only option. The only option is to fight and somehow win, which is unlikely.”

They always knew that he was the strongest person on this planet.

But…

“You have not seen what the other… ‘Nazar’ can do. I felt his energies… And I felt scared for the first time in a long time. I mean, true fear. He could rip me apart without a second thought. He looked evil. Looking at him in his ‘dark’ form is like staring death in the very eyes.”

“Then… we are going to die?” Emma asked him.

She did not really believe what he said.

Nazar gulped.

“Y-yes...”

He said very slowly, so he cleared his throat.

“Yes.”

“Oh.”

“Sorry...”

“It’s not your fault,” his father said.

“Even with Alice, I don’t think I can win.”

They just sat there in silence.
