《Memoirs of an old traveler:First Rebirth》Chapter 16-That ye old cliche

Well now I have reached the stage of squirehood where at least I can ride Eurus more now that she has grown into a proper mare. It has been exhilarating to feel the wind on my face as we speed around the nearby land. The only spoiler is the training aketon with scrap metal plate for weights inserted. This thing is stuffed with blacksmith reject metal only fit for weights being not even worth melting down as the estate blacksmith Talla muttered while I was being sized. Her apprentices had messed up a couple times practicing and these were the results, really being capable of putting anything to use are we. Well reusing things are good I suppose to ensure there is as little waste as possible
The nearby village I saw back in the past is now within reach. The village is larger than most on average and offers a blacksmith, tanner, clothier, and an inn. Since the manor is nearby and has a guard barracks it makes sense that the nearby village took advantage. The fields here are in full growth as harvest is here. The occasional farmer stops their work gathering the crops and waves to me and I wave back, looks like the family is popular here. But even being out here is part of my training, I am supposed to find those who have finished and are ready to store their grain in the village storehouse as requested by the village chief Malark. but that is further on as these people now are not done yet.Once everything is harvested then there will be a festival for all to attend. This ought to be a good opportunity to meet the people but for now my work.
Ahhh looks like this is the first finished group of workers at the outskirts of the village fields, a clump of 5 people are standing by a bundle of tied grain. It looks like the entire family, the parents and children. In this case 2 sons around 16 and a daughter that looks 18, they wave in greeting as I pull up to them and the father starts speaking

”Good day to you young master we finished our harvest and our neighbors should be done soon, just have to lash the grain together you can tell the chief to send the carts now”.
“Very well I’ll head over, anything else to say or interesting news today”
“Just one, there have been a lot of wolves howling recently, could be a new pack has moved nearby. Could spell trouble for anything gets stirred up because of this, especially if they decide it’s worth it to try and take livestock”.
“Got it, I’ll tell the guard kader to send out a patrol to find out what is going on, nothing else has happened”
“None my lord, a safe journey to you”
As I nod in return and get back on Eurus I notice movement in the forest ahead. Shit speak and it shall come, I recognize those from my studies.
A group of green humanoids come, dressed in rough and torn furs and armed with stone hatchets and short spears they stumble this way haphazardly. They number almost 50 in all with one being the evident leader being bigger and armed with a shortsword of iron. They notice the group of humans and the leader pushes about 10 forward hoping to test the waters yet another group goes into the middle of them all. They look ready to fight or fall back if needed, even outnumbering and being in formation they do not move forward recklessly. On closer look the group in the middle don’t look like warriors being unarmed and carrying baskets of items. My body tenses itself now that the group advancing is more easily seen, they look ragged but there is a slight pressure on me from their advance. This is bloodlust or killing intent eh, again I face it but this time it is for real. I tighten my grip on my sword, this is not going to end easily I think but then again this is killing something that is a simpler task compared to other things.

Far Strider
A college student finds himself transported into a strange land with burgeoning magical powers, and is taken in by Ned Stark. Will he sink or swim in this medieval society, and will he ever get home? ====================== OC-insert without knowledge of Game of Thrones, new planeswalker. Slow power ramp. Second crossover: Star Wars (around chapter 39). ======================= As a note, I started this as a speed writing challenge to myself. The challenge was successful, and I managed 100,000+ words (as well as some character sheets in excel and such) over 10.5 days. Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.

Thomas the Brawler
Thomas doesn't remember what his last name was, before it became Bluebrim, a name belonging to another universe. He's also pretty sure he wasn't this stupid before he arrived, but what can you do, when a day that was supposed to begin with an interview to set your life back on track instead begins in a universe that makes no sense, with rules you can't begin to understand? Maybe he should have paid more attention to the avatar creation screen ... Content warnings: All of them. Seriously. Expect lots of blue screens to begin with. Don't expect a power-leveling fantasy, in which the lone hero beats up all the bad guys, and gets a harem of women. There's just a guy who treats character creation like an annoying series of pop-up advertisements, and the story is basically the ramifications of that. The main character has to learn to take the world he's found himself in seriously, and he'll learn the way most of us do, by doing it wrong first. This is, insofar as it is successful, a dark comedy fantasy. Also a bit of horror, particularly but not exclusively body horror. I'm pretty sure I've earned those Content Warning tags, so, uh, yeah. This is practice. Hopefully things improve as I go, and figure out what I'm doing wrong, but I make no guarantees things will ever get better. I've already made mistakes, I'll make more, and I'm happy to notice them each time I make them. You don't improve unless you fail. (On the plus side, it probably won't get much worse.) Feel free to point out anything you think I'm doing wrong; I don't promise to change anything, particularly if it's a matter of taste, but I am looking to improve, and figuring out what I need to improve goes faster if I don't have to try to figure it out myself. I've updated the earlier chapters for formatting, in the hope that it would make everything easier to read on mobile devices. Hopefully things work slightly better now, but please let me know if there are any issues anywhere.

Synapsis (Liber Telluris Book 2)

So are her psychoses and power-hunger. When the quest for answers drives Dorsin, Tvorh, and their companions into the deepest wilds of Tellus and the blackest voids beyond it, they will learn the single terrible secret binding synapse to synapse, biomage to genophage, man to Chimera… Past to present. Because while fractious bloodlines war across Tellus’s surface, the true threat glides unrecognized through the void of space… Heading straight toward Tellus. *** Synapsis is the second book of a biopunk science-fantasy epic inspired by the altered philosophies and weird technologies of Dune, the ever-present familial machinations present in Exalted's Scarlet Empire, and the endless conflict of Warhammer 40K.
