《Another life》Chapter 15

It's been 2 years since we left the mansion, and now I'm 5 years old.
I didn't had a birthday party when I was 4, but I did get one when I was 5. The thing is we only eat cake only with the 2 of us, it's pretty lonely.
In the last 2 years, there are few things that I gain through my daily activities.
The first is definitely about my magic. Now I don't really have to struggle so much in order to reshape my magic.
The next thing is my Alchemy. Before it would take 15 minutes to create a potion, but now it would only take me about 5 minutes to make one.
Also I have master the art of refining. Usually I would burn a couple of ingredients by accident, but not so much anymore.
And the last thing is that I learn a couple of things from Whis. Like types, and how to make a magic circle. And I even learn things like runes, and enchantments. But I never had any chance to practice it, and I never did try it because Whis only taught me without showing me the “image”.
Yeah, that's the only thing I gain in the last 2 years. No, I don't have any friends. Why? Cause I rarely left the house, and if I did left the house it's only to buy foods, and ingredients for Alchemy.
Yeah, I know it's sad. But what could I say? I'm not really good socialising with others.
Now let's talk about the present now shall we? So, guess what I doing? If you give up then here's the answer.
Right now I'm exploring the town, while eating some skewer meat.
You might be wondering why though right? That's because dad seeing me coped up in my room all this time for the last 2 years think it's unhealthy.
Today he suddenly barged in to my room while I was making a potion, I was in the middle of heating the pot, and was in the middle of dissolving the ingredients.
I jumped out of surprise, and the flame went bigger. Good thing it didn't grow too big to the point it'll burn the house.
Somehow dodging catastrophe, he then gave me money to buy some foods, kicked me out, and told me to play outside, and make some friends. Is he serious about this? Yup he is.
I stand in front of the house for an hour, and knocked the door repeatedly. Unfortunately I didn't get any response so I decided to explore this town which I live in for 2 years but haven't got the time to fully explore yet.
I went to a lot of places like the church, the gate, and to some guilds like the craftmen guild, and the famous adventurers guild.

While there are other guilds like the merchant guild, I just ignore them and went to these 2. Why? Cause it's seems more interesting.
I take a look at the craftsmen guild. Basically the guild will provide you with the you need for crafting/ Alchemy as long as you have money, and will buy the things you made depend in the quality.
The adventurers guild was pretty normal. A bunch of adventure picking requests, receptionists doing their jobs, etc. You know just like the usual adventurers guild.
When I finished visiting those 2 places, I start exploring the town again. After I bought a few meat skewers.
2 hours later I got pretty bored. I have already explore every parts of the city except the slums, cause dad forbid me to do so.
With nothing else to do, I decided to go back home. I didn't made any friends but at least I had some fun. But, dad is probably going to talk me about how important is friend is, etc. It makes me wonder why he did it.
When I'm on my way back, I happen to saw a girl in an alley. The girl is about as the same age as me has green hair, and red eyes. Her ears are long and pointy, and she has a fair white skin.
She's wearing nothing but a piece of clothing that cover her body, and I can she that she hasn't eat anything yet for the last few days.
Should I gave her something to eat, or a place to sleep for a day? Or maybe I should just ignore her, and go back home.
Hmm, my moral says that I should help her but in what way? Give her food? Shelter? Or maybe both? Even if I did that, I'm not sure that she'll survive for long. What to do, what to do.
After a moment of thinking I have finally decided! That I will brought her to my house, and… no I won't do anything bad, I'll just treat her and give her food. And maybe dad will let her stay for a few days.
Why? The major 2 reasons are one my moral says so, and the other one is that she'll be my friend and dad won't force me to get one again.
The others are that I'm pretty much interested in the elf, and if she did stay I won't be all alone in the house which means that dad won't be able to complain to me, besides with her around I won't have to do grocery shopping.
I returned carrying her using while using and to makes us invisible, and to hide our smell, the steps of my footsteps, and our presence.
Yeah, I finally name my magics. makes you invisible by obstructing the light near you, while hide our smell, footsteps, and presence using dark magic.

With these 2 skills I'll be able to steal all I want muahahaha, but I don't really like that so I won't. Not unless I'm forced too.
We quickly arrive to my house, fortunately dad isn't here. If he did, then he'll freak out, and start swinging his sword around the house.
It did happen actually, it happened when I was 3 when I open the door using . Dad who saw no one is there, start swing his sword around the room, until he was stopped by mom. It's hilarious!
Mom… I wonder if she get send to heaven, or gets reincarnated like me… You know what let's just.. Let's just forget this thing.
Anyway, I return to my room, with the elf, and lay her down. Then I grab a potion to heal her.
I had to hold her head, in order for her to drink. She must be really tired to not have the strength to lift her head.
I grab some of my spare clothe, and place them near her. I then go downstairs, grab some bread, and a glass of clear water for her to eat.
After that, I just wait either for her to wake up, or dad comes home. Whichever comes first.
A few hours later, dad came home. When he came to my room, and saw the elf he has this troubled look. Well time for me and dad to have a little argument.
---Ferlike POV---
“I'm home..” I said as I open the door. Hmm, Allen is not here he must be in his room.
I go upstairs, and open the door to his room. What I found when I did so, is that he is waiting for an elf girl to wake up. Who is she? And did Allen abducted her?
Allen notice me troubled and start explaining what happened before I asked him. This kid, how come does he know how I feel without me saying it. Is it showing on my face?
Anyway, I listen to his story for the day. It all went pretty normal, except for the fact that she met this elf girl, and brought her back home.
One thing comes in question when i heard his story. How come doesn't anyone caught him carrying her?
I asked him that, and he told me that he use magic to hide himself, and the girl. I forgot that this kid is good with magic to the point he did allnof his chores using magic, and making potions, and of course the event 2 years ago..
“So, can you tell me the reason why you help her?”
It's not like I hate elf or anything, I'm just wondering why he did that.
“It's because she won't survive after a few days, and I want her as my friend. Besides dad always tell me to help when I can right?”
This kid… his using my own words on me. It's true that I want him to have a friend, and to help people when he can but I don't think he'll did this just with those reasons alone.
It’s not like i think my son has any bad intention, it's just that for the past 2 years everything he did always has something that will give him benefits.
For example, one time when he ask for me to bring him to my workplace to observe how i work he ended up reading books in there after a minute of observing.
There's also the potions, and the grocery shopping as well. The potions actually gave me benefits too, but for the shopping part, he only bought what he like with the money I gave him. But then again, the things he bought isn't that bad.
Knowing that he has another intention I asked him again. “What's the real reason you brought her here?”
He avertbhis eyes, and after a moment of silence he answer.
“It's because I want to know more about elf, but I won't do anything bad to her. Also with this I won't be alone in the house when you're gone, and i finally won't have to do grocery shopping again.”
Putting his curiosity about Elves, and the grocery shopping part aside. I guess it won't be that bad since he'll have someone to keep him company.
He must be pretty lonely to live in this house all alone when I'm working. So I guess I should let her stay here?
I think for a while, on what will probably happen if I did accept her. It's not like I'll lack financially, the salary for a knight although isn't that high, it's enough for a family of 4 to live through their life. Besides there's still the potions Allen made waiting to be sold.
The problem is what will she do? Will she be able to adapt? Will she be any threat to us? Okay, maybe the last part isn't that likely but there's still a chance for that.
After a moment of thinking I decided to let her stay in here for a while, and see how things go. If she's able to adapt, and won't cause any trouble I'll gladly accept her here. Truthfully it's a little bit to quiet in here with only the 2 of us.
But if she's not able to do that, then I'll bid her farewell. Even if she's a child, I won't show any mercy. Maybe just a little I guess?

Protagonist: The Whims of Gods
Book one now also on Amazon! After quitting her job as a therapist and grabbing some work at a dog shelter, Tess's life became pretty slow. A tad boring, even. It thus came as no small surprise when she was chosen by a god. Thrust into a new world where magic, monsters, and character levels are suddenly a reality, Tess will quickly find that just surviving can be a challenge. It doesn't help that dark forces are stirring, she's woefully underpowered, and that spiders keep trying to claw her face off. One thing's for certain, though: The possibilities are endless. Will she end up wrestling a dragon? Becoming an arch-mage? Opening a quaint, bookstore, coffee shop, and wine bar for elves? The choice is hers... As long as she can live long enough to make it. Protagonist is a fairly classic LitRPG novel with character levels, classes, stats, settlements, and other LitRPG elements. Unlike a lot of LitRPG stories, while the protagonist has some perks, she doesn't start off overpowered. You can expect to see her struggle as she advances. This novel also takes the opportunity to explore some less frequently seen builds, shying away from any min-maxing. Chapters are about ~2000-3000 words and are released at 8:00am ET every other day.
