I draw my 1911, flick the safety off, and aiming at that black figure.
It's obviously not human. I can see something resembling an ear on its head.
It's starting to walk slowly to us.
A sound that I thought was just a tree branch rubbing together, start to remember a growl of a beast.
A silhouette that getting clearer obviously reveals fur on its entire body.
A palm that I thought of having a very long claw, is actually a finger that soo long it breaking a proportion of a palm of any animal out there.
And it keeps taking a step that is too close for comfort
BANG!
I shot it!
It stops moving. I shot my first real gun and it hit it!
[Grrrr... ARGH!!!]
BANG!! BANG!!
It's running closer!
BANG!! BANG!! BANG!! BANG!!
Keep getting closer!
BANG!!
[kaing!!]
It drops. Did I kill it?
[DID YOU KILL IT??] Andreas
[Let's just get outta here!] Me
I got its head in that last shot.
But is it dead?
I shot a full magazine into that thing so I won't be surprised if even a shot to the head didn't kill it.
Let just run!
-------------------------------------------
[[huft.. huft]]
[I think we're far enough.] Val
[What is that thing anyway!] Andreas
[Did you manage to kill it, Dean?] Val
[I don't know. And I wouldn't dare to check it. Let's just go to Dasi as fast as we can.] Me
-------------------------------------------
In Dasi
[Are you sure it's a lycan?] Rando
We manage to arrive at Dasi village safely.
After we inform the guard about that lycan we encounter, he immediately suggests us a meeting with a village elder named Rando.
[It has a dog ear, fur, really long finger, and its growl.] Me

[It seems to be lycan alright.] Rando
[So what do we do now chief?] Villager
[Young man. You're a mercenary right? Can you receive a request?] Rando
[Depends.] Me
I don't want anything to do with that lycan again.
But on the other hand, my arsenal certainly lacking right now that I'll be in danger if I need to meet something like that again.
[As you tell me, you aren't sure if that lycan is dead or not. I intend to send someone to town to recruit mercenaries to make sure it is dead. But before that, I'm worried about the safety of people here.] Rando
Lycan might implore grab and hide strategy to get their victim. But, with it suffer a loss that time, it might getting agitated that it'll go to wreak havoc in a nearby village.
[Three days. Help us protect our village for three days starting tomorrow while I sent someone to town. The payment is 5000G.] Rando
Wait, 5000G? Is it not too high?
But if you think about it, if my 1911 with 8000G pricetag is considered as a bare minimum but a decent piece of firearm, it may be equivalent as a decent piece of a short sword in this world, so then 5000G is not too high after all.
[I accept. But I want the pay upfront if you can ] Me
5000G is not near enough to buy something that I think can kill that lycan. But at least I can buy a lot of ammo so I can dump it leisurely to that thing.
[No problem. I'll lead you to our inn so you and your companion can rest for tonight.] Rando

Candor: The Forgotten House
*** Please read note below *** As a 16-year-old mage from a powerful family, Jayce Candor had known from a young age what his future would hold. As the fourth son in his family the possibility of him becoming the heir to the household was very small. But, with his talent as a mage, his potential accomplishments in the military could lead to titles of nobility and political power. However, on what would otherwise be an unremarkable night, everything he had ever known, the only people he ever cared for, and all of the plans for his future were destroyed. House Candor, one of the six great houses that helped build the Eldoran Empire had been erased from history. By imperial decree, all those bearing the name Candor were hunted down and executed as traitors of the Empire. With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here

Dust: A Romantic Apocalyptic LitRPG Novel
When a strange dust storm hits the Berkeley campus, a thousand years of technological progress are wiped out in a matter of hours. Two students, socially anxious Alf and triple-amputee Blix, must fight for survival while clouds of swirling dust turn their safe, familiar world into a monster-filled apocalypse. Then, because things aren't crazy enough, a female voice inside Alf’s head claims he's her avatar. If he doesn't keep her entertained, she'll take back the controls. WARNING: If you like stories that start out with perfect, over-powered, emotionally withdrawn alpha male protagonists, this story isn't for you. If you like stories that start out with physically perfect, demure, wilting-violet female protagonists, this story also isn't for you. If you're looking for harems or murderhoboes or objectification or porn, then you should probably look elsewhere. But if you are a romantic and have the patience to watch two imperfect characters blossom over time, then welcome to my world.
