《Prevented My Empire From Falling》Chapter 02

“Hey, don't call me Your Highness right now. Just call me by my name?'' I asked as I tried not to sound like a different person.
“But Your Highness-” she protested.
“Don't make me repeat it.” I ordered.
“Aurelia Helena Asterias Amargo,” she winced and quickly spoke again. “Will you forgive me for saying your name?” she trembled in fear.
KNOCK KNOCK.
Another maid entered.
“Head maid Sara, the Empress is calling for you. I will take care of Her Highness, so go right now” the newcomer said.
Sara left as the newcomer just stood by the door. I quickly washed my face as I tried to understand the situation.
Ok, so i'm still not so sure how old i am right now, but it is past 19, because i am not in Euse at the very moment. My thoughts were all over the place. I had to get them organized.
The maid brought in my breakfast. It truthfully didn't look very appetizing so i decided to pass, since i wasn't very hungry and sat down on a wooden desk. I brought out some papers and began to write.
First things first. How do I still have my memories? Why was I not reincarnated into a baby? I can't believe my former self was Rela or Aurelia, in her proper name. I wonder what's happening in my past modern life, what should I do and what is happening right now.
But my mind seemed to be more at ease here. Was my actual self supposed to be here? Did I belong here? Maybe that was why I was so into old fashioned sports.
Even so it was so unbelievable and confusing. I knew very well I wasn't asleep. If i was asleep then i would have woken up by blinking hard. I started to wonder if other people who had died, also remembered their past life. But it was hard to know that. Because since everybody lost their memories, they kind of move accordingly like robots. And also maybe they don't have the courage of telling me, a girl with high status.

Next major problem, what do I do now? I mean like if I side-stepped a bit then I knew very well that the other things would change and the future would change, and then I wouldn't know the outcome. Of course I can risk it, but I was afraid that if another war came or something major would happen. I couldn't risk it. Unless i had a backup plan, which i definitely did not have.
A sudden thought popped up. I think it was a thought of my former self. I quickly scribbled it on the paper to not forget that thought. It was probably a minor rebellion about the throne. I doubt Rela would even be bothered to call it a rebellion.
“Your highness, Second Prince is here.”
The Second Prince? I think the Second Prince was a great aide who helped her sister in her reign. His name was Aeson Alistair Dilon Amargo, or it might’ve been Ason Dilion Amargo, but I’ll find out later anyways.

Crimson Gloom
Crimson Gloom. The time when the moon turns crimson, illuminating the landscape with its crimson glow. The time when the ‘doors’ to the Crimson Abyss open. One shall gaze into the abyss and gain its secrets and powers. Concurrently, the abyss also gazes into oneself, gaining one’s sanity and humanity. Dimensional rifts appeared spontaneously on Earth, bringing otherworldly demons along with the Crimson Gloom. Bloody battles were fought, noble sacrifices were made. Humans eventually sealed the rifts and successfully defended their homeworld. Alas, the seals were not perfect. The Crimson Abyss continued to exist, slowly influencing Earth and its inhabitants. Half a century of relatively uneventful years passed… humanity slowly descended into corruption, and the majority of them knew nothing of the effects of the Crimson Abyss. Is there only the dreadful gloom left to the world? Can one find brightness in the increasingly gloomy world? The youth who had gazed into the Crimson Abyss had no answer, nor did he care. He only wanted the Crimson Gloom to end, to forever seal the Crimson Abyss. A mistake and a twist of fate led the youth into a seemingly totally different direction. Will he forget his lifelong goal? Will he instead step back onto his initial path that he fervently pursued? Disclaimer: I do not own the image on the cover. Image edited on canva.com. This piece of work, after all, is only a first draft and by no means an end product by an amateur (beginner) writer. Mistakes are bound to happen. With that said, I will strive to improve as I write.
