Chapter 8: Time to Go
Emily
It had been a week since I had Seen John in the room, he was still around the school, but he never came back at night, I was becoming worried, John was a wanker, but I did care. The time was 10pm full lights out, anyone caught outside there rooms after this time would be punished, normally a warning on there record and a detention. But at this point if he kept getting caught, he should be gone by now. He was up to something and I was going to find out what it was, I knew that if I scanned my card the roaming guards would notice, all of this stuff was traceable. So, in order to get out of my room I had broken open the card system and overrode the scanner that recognised the card and bam I’d be home free with no evidence left behind. I did so quite quickly and made my way around the school, slipping past every guard on my way around. I then spotted something, 3 people in a room with a main light on, no other rooms had that light on, I had scored the jackpot, I hoped… I made my way over to the window and peered through and I saw them. Benton and John, the third person left the room just before I could see who it was, I broke open the door using a bobby pin in the back of my hair, I must of startled John because as I entered the room I had a gun drawn on me. He quickly realised who I was and dropped it fast, “Fucking Jeez Emily, I nearly shot you. Wait what are you doing here man?” I was in a tad of shock, nearly getting shot does that. “I could ask you the same thing, also next time take your safety off.” John chuckled, “I know that, it was more for threatening purposes, what brings you here, and why did you break out? Also how have you not been busted yet?” I continued to laugh at his endless questions, “for one, you, and two, you and three I busted a circuit in the doors card reader.” John Laughed “you are just full of mysteries, did you miss me or something?” it was a joke but I knew for a fact he was trying to see if I care “Nah just wanted to check if you were dead or not.” He laughed again “That’s cold man.” I still didn’t have an answer. “Soooo what are you doing here Johnathan?” he sighed “I’m trying to expose the Commander, he tried to get me arrested and Benton expelled, but someone gave us a second chance.” I wondered who but I didn’t bother asking. “do you need help?” he grinned “thought you didn’t care?” I grinned back “No, but I like Benton…” Everyone in the room despite themselves burst into hysterics, at least for a moment. Someone else had broken in, it was another girl, I recognised her, but I knew nothing about her. John yet again had his weapon drawn, “Oh why don’t we just get everyone sneaking in here?” John swiftly lowered his weapon. “Okay so who are you and what in the mighty hell are you doing here?” The girl seems quite awkward when confronted, I mean I can’t blame her, a stranger had just pointed a gun in her face and is now being questioned about It. “My name is Jade, and I am here because I heard quite a large ruckus outside my room about 15 minutes ago, I broke out to see what it was, and I found you guys.” John seemed puzzled “We couldn’t have made that much noise, we all came here separately.” Everyone in the room pondered, it wouldn’t last long however as someone broke down the door in a not-so-subtle way. It was an armoured guard, but it wasn’t our sides… The guard shot Jade right in the chest, John retaliated immediately with 4 gunshots right in the head before the armour broke and he dropped to the ground. Everyone was in shock. “We have to leave now!” John was now in control he picked up a portable radio and patched into someone who’s voice I didn’t quite recognise. “We are under attack by faction guards, don’t know what they are here for, but they just killed a student!” although you could tell that he was freaking out hard, he still kept his composure. This death would be something that would bother us later, as for now though we had to focus on getting out.

John
The death shocked me, but me in a state of shock for what felt like an hour, in reality it was over in a couple of seconds I was back to leading the pack. I had to get everyone out I picked up the guard’s primary rifle and gave it to Emily, she was the best shot in our team by far, I gave my handgun to Benton, and I picked up the guard’s shotgun and pistol. “Okay here is the plan, we don’t know how many others are out there if any at all, we don’t know what their objective is, and we don’t know what other equipment they could be carrying. We stick together, one looking behind two looking forward, we need to rally as many of guards as possible if they are not dead. We ready?” we busted out of room weapons draw and the first thing we were greeted with was an ambush, what must have been 10 people opened fire on the room’s door. “they must have heard the gunshot earlier?” Benton stated, “It doesn’t matter we have to get out of here!” I broke the window with the butt of my gun “Emily spray out the window!” She stood up quick and dumped about 20 rounds into the crowd before ducking down. I sighed “There is still too many out there!” I saw the look on Benton’s face that signalled a bad idea, “What is it Benton?” he then lifted up multiple grenades and some canisters of tear gas “We should blow a hole in the back wall and escape through the other classrooms.” I nodded at him and grabbed the grenade from him, I placed it at the base of the wall while trying to avoid getting cut down by a machine gun. I jumped back behind cover whilst the grenade exploded it left a body sized hole in the wall. “Benton, get through the hole we will be right behind you.” Benton made his way through followed by Emily, as I went to enter the hole, I saw another grenade enter the room. I quickly dived behind a table and flipped it, so it was facing the grenade. The explosion almost destroyed the room, these rooms weren’t built to survive any kind of explosion let alone two of them, and the more they fired on the room the more it fell apart I couldn’t no longer use the exit that Benton had created, I was sealed in.
Benton
The hole closed after another explosion, and we noticed that John never made it out, he was still In there, and at this point he was most likely dead, Emily looked at me. “there is no way he could have survived that.” She was now visibly upset, in her mind she had just lost a close friend. I still had faith, John was resourceful he would have survived it, and I knew he would make It out. Emily, however was shattered. Tonight’s events were weighing on her heavily, she was broken. “I know tonight had been rough, but we have to keep it together, for everyone’s sake, were the first line of defence right now, we have to warn everyone and drive them out.” It was at that point gunfire was spreading all around the school now, people were dying, and we had to do something about it.

I was having a hard time sleeping, I just couldn’t get comfortable in bed, I had been having this issue for the last few weeks and it was bothering me. But this time I could be useful, as I heard my door trying to be unlocked without a card. Someone was trying to break in… I jumped out of bed, I didn’t know who it could be or what they would want. I grabbed a pole from the hangers in the cupboard, people were waking up around me with all the noise, I told them to keep quiet and look like there asleep. The person had broken through and opened the door slowly, he was eying off the beds seeing if anyone was asleep, I hid on the other side of the door, using the dark to my advantage. He looked at my bed, and as he realised it was empty I wacked him over the head, he was wearing armour so It did minimal damage too him, before he could retaliate I then decided to switch my approach, I fed the pole in between his legs and pulled forcing him to trip, when he was on the ground I kicked his helmet off and smashed the pole through his head, killing him instantly, I checked who it was. It was an alternate faction Guard uniform. We were being attacked at the source. I grabbed his weapons, because I’m sure this wasn’t the only one in the school, at that moment my suspicions were proved correct as I heard an explosion towards the centre of the school. The guards must be under attack and I had to save them, the 3 other people in my room woke up ready for a fight. One of them called out to me “I need a gun man.” I grinned, these guys were worthy of being part of a strong army, not scared of death even at the age their at.
I took 2 people with me from my room and left 2 people back at the room in case they came back, we gathered weapons and rallied people from rooms in order to build a makeshift army, we found the building that was blown up before and it was almost nothing but rubble, there was a small force of enemy guards surrounding it, it must have had something important in it. We engaged the forces whilst they were off guard and took them out swiftly, at this point there was constant gunfire all over the school, gunshots were getting drowned out everywhere they were shot. I kept some of my people behind to guard whilst I took a few people to search what was left of the building, we rummaged through it to find just one man…

Badass
At the end of everything, Taylor Hebert realized something. She didn't want to be a superhero. No, she wanted to be a badass. And then her prayers were answered. Imbued with the power of mimetic badassery and the ability to channel a different real-life badass every week, she set out in search for all the best things in life - well, according to Conan, at least. Modeling herself after Conan have been a mistake. Join her on her high-octane, pulp-fiction journey for vengeance, adventure, victory and mayhem. This isn't just uncensored. It's anti-censored! =========================== (Worm/Fate/Badass of the Week) Warning: crack-taken-seriously, over-the-top pulp-fiction style violence, overpowered protagonist, banned on two other sites. Hell, even the light-hearted omake jokes in this were considered too subversive to persist. ============================ AN: There’s this really, really excellent website called Badass of the Week. I’ve wasted many an hour browsing through, marveling at all the crazy shit some humans are capable of. Check it out, then come back and read this in a few days when the awesome starts to wear off. It’s worth it (all 576 entries). Back? Good! Anyways, I was looking through it recently while thinking about who I wanted to make expy’s of for my The Flying Dutchman quest ship captains (which now languishes in indefinite hiatus), and I had this idea. What if Taylor, wanting to be a badass, triggered with the power to be a different Badass every week? With a bit of Fate-style ability to draw on the tools associated with the legend (but to a just marginally less ridiculous degree), and a drive and aura to be and do badass? And thus, Badass was born in it’s somewhat cracky glory. Enjoy.

This quest will either see von Bolstedt's shaken faith in his own god reforged into an intolerant blade, or shattered like ice. Word from the AuthorGreetings! Witch Hunt plays out in the much beloved Warhammer Fantasy setting (owned, of course, by Games Workshop). Do not fret, however, as I've made it a point to make the story digestible even to the uninitiated, and maybe even be a good introduction to the setting. This is the second part of the adventures of Adebar von Bolstedt, as such I recommend reading part one, titled "The Hand of Sigmar" first. While I cannot claim the places, concepts and gods etc. mentioned within as my own, the story and all characters flowed from my own fingers.
