《The Red Saint》Chapter 21: Aftermath

"Congratulation Gabriel D'arc"

The king then walked toward Gabriel with a big smile on the king's face, which make him a little bit confused.

'Why he smile? I just beat his Summoned hero.'

As the king arrived near him and extended his hand toward him, Gabriel then grabs it before doing a handshake. After congratulated him, The king then unsheathed his sword before saying.

"Kneel"

Gabriel then kneels by the king's command before he feels cold steel touching his skin. After place the sword on top of Gabriel's shoulder, the king then said.

"Gabriel D'arc, for your victory against the chosen hero, I grant you a noble title of Viscount. While I can't grant you anymore land but I permit you to take a set of armor from The Royal Armoury."

After the king says that, The audience then began to cheering for him once more. He was hearing the people that watch and make him embarrassed a little bit. The king, Barthélemy Family, then walked inside the palace, where the royal family was already preparing a feast for the winner of the trial.

After eating the food, Gabriel then gets dragged by little Annette toward her room, followed by Elizabeth, who also gets dragged by her. After they arrive at Annette's room, she immediately demands him to tell them a story. Seeing Annette's behavior, Gabriel only smiles a little before he tells them a story from Earth, 'Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, and Snow White.' Gabriel continues to play with the girls for a little while until the sun began to set down, so Gabriel tells the King that he needs to go to the inn and decline the king offered to let him stay inside the palace. As he was preparing himself to go to the Inn, Arthur walked toward him and gave him a piece of paper.

"Give this to the receptionist in the Adventure guild if you want to go to Guild. Also, don't forget to come to the palace in the afternoon to receive your reward."

After hearing that Gabriel then walked toward the Inn where he will spend the night, The reason why Gabriel didn't want to stay inside the castle is that he not get used to sleeping inside a fancy bedroom. In his previous life, Gabriel always lives inside an ordinary house with a cheap bed. While he can buy a more expensive bed but he didn't do that because he always saves money for his college. That is the reason why he does not get used to sleeping in the fancy room.

As he arrives at the Inn, Gabriel immediately goes inside his room and go to bed then sleep.

~ The Next Day ~

The next morning Gabriel does his usual morning activity, which is; Take a Bath and Eat a Breakfast. After eating some breakfast, Gabriel immediately goes to the Adventurer Guild and delivers the letter that Arthur give him to the receptionist. At first, the receptionist has a confused face for a second, but when she read the letter, her expression began to change from confused to shocked in a matter of seconds. Before she walked to the upstairs with the letter on her hand and come back a few minutes later with a bulky man walked beside her.

"So you are the Red Saint, eh?"

"Err, Yes?"

"Don't worry, lad. You don't do anything wrong. It is about the letter that Lord Arthur give you. Anyway I'm the Guild Master in the Capital"

"Okay?"

"In the letter, it says to upgrade your rank from B to A-Rank. At first, I hesitated a little, but I remember that you have a level of 70, which is the level requirement for A-Rank Adventurer."

"So, I'm an A-Ranked adventurer now?"

"Yes, now come with me."

Gabriel then follows the Guild master to the upstairs where the guild master room located and then goes inside. After they are sitting down on the chair, The guild master then takes a crystal ball from under his table and place it in front of him before saying.

"Please place your hand on the crystal."

Gabriel then places his on top of the crystal.

"Good, and don't remove it for a few seconds."

After a few seconds, the Crystal ball began to shine brightly, and coming from the crystal ball is a card with black colo and gold on its edge.

"This is a special card that identifies you as an A-Ranked Adventurer. This card is like your noble ID card, which gives you access to 1-star City and 2-stars City without paying any more."

"I see."

"Yes, congratulations, you are the thirty-seventh A-Rank Adventurer in the world."

"Really?"

"Yes, A-Rank Adventurer is rare, you know? This is the highest person can get if he/she wants to become Adventurer in one Continent because if you want to get S-rank in adventure guild, you need support from all King in the world, which is difficult."

"I see."

"Anyway, Congratulation, kid. Not only are you a Viscount but also an A-ranked Adventurer, Its like a second title you have there."

"Thank you."

"No worry, lad."

After he goes to the Adventure Guild, Gabriel then goes to the Palace once more, and as he walked inside the palace, he was greeted by a bullet that has the name of Annette.

"GABRIELLLL"

"Offf, Be careful there, Annette."

"Hehehe"

"How are you?"

"I'm Good! Ne Gabriel, will you tell Elizabeth and me a story once more?"

"I'm sorry little Princess, but I need to meet the king immediately."

"Aw"

"It's okay after I finish my business with the king I will tell you two a story."

"Promise"

"Good"

Gabriel and Annette then walked toward the king's office, where the king promised to meet him. When he knocked on the door, The king then says that they can come inside the room, so he opens the door revealing Arthur, Archibald, and Maximillan inside the room.

"Ahh, Gabriel, please come in."

Gabriel then coming inside the room, as the king take a piece of metal that shaped almost like a key and hand it over, Archibald.

"Please escort Gabriel to the armory Archibald."

"Yes, Your Majesty"

"Good, Gabriel, I'm sorry that I can't escort you to the armory because I have some urgent news that just arrives."

"It's okay, your majesty."

"Good, then please follow Archibald as he will take you to the armory."

After walking along the corridor for a minute in silence, they arrive in a big black door that doesn't have any keyhole on it. Still, before Gabriel was able to ask, Archibald walks toward the door and presses the key on the door surface as if it has a keyhole. A second later, Gabriel able to hear a click sound coming from around the door, and a second later, the door slowly open revealing many pieces of equipment not only Weapon and Armor but also a Potion, Grimoire, and Jewelry. Not only the room has many Weapon and Armor, but it also has many golds and precious gem inside the armory, no, a vault because Gabriel can't call this place an armory anymore.

"Please take your time, and I will go to the door. Please don't take anything other than a set of armor."

After seeing Archibald walked away, Gabriel then activated his Scan Ability to look for the best armor for him. Gabriel continues to search for about a minute before he stumbles upon armor that perfect for him.

This set of armor has a flat top helm with a pointed, v-shaped opening leaving the eyes, nose, and mouth exposed. Attached to the forehead area, two small crossed daggers as an ornament piece.

The shoulders are pointy, wide, and enormous. They're decorated with a small shield on each side, facing downwards.

The upper arms are protected by squared, half-covering rerebraces which sit quite well under the shoulder plates. The lower arms are covered by vambraces that have a metal snake curling around them.

The breastplate is made from many layers of smaller metal pieces, mimicking the scales of a dragon. It covers almost everything from the neck down and ending at the groin, but the sides are only covered near the bottom.

Squared, layered metal cuisses cover the upper legs. The lower legs are protected by greaves, which have several claw-like barbs in a row on the outer sides.

When Gabriel uses his Scan skill, he able to see the stats, and he knows that it was the right armor for him.
