《Let's Form a Party to Kill God》Kiting

They first needed to drip the tracking potion from the grove to the goblin nest.
Elise had shown that her physical abilities were seemingly bottomless, but her zombies could only autonomously execute simple commands. She would have to keep a short distance from the kobold in order to see the path and guide it properly. Kynos would escort her, being the strongest and most mobile.
Erwin and Otto would wait near the grove, ready to lob potions at the creatures of the grove, especially the guardian treants, as they engaged the goblins. Erwin would observe the reactions and any mutations on the goblins for as long as possible. They would have to sacrifice the kobold, but there was a backup alchemical lamp in the wagon in border town.
After the four of them regrouped, Erwin would set off a contained fire to prevent any pursuers and they would move back to camp.
Kynos lifted Elise into a tree near the main nest entrance as Erwin and Otto walked towards the grove. The two of them sat on a high branch, watching an increasingly larger amount of goblins find their way back to camp. The creatures didn't have a uniform color, and many bore scars, but they all blended into the mossy, earthy colors of the forest.
He did his best to count the ones that he could see or that triggered his shadow web, but Kynos lost count at a little over two hundred. Any seasoned adventurer would've immediately aborted the mission and rushed back to Widala to report on the imminent surge and attack of the goblins, but having seen how weak each individual was, Kynos didn't think much of the numbers.
Elise had also noticed that some of the goblins were carrying sticks and stones. Goblins were supposed to be stupid creatures that mobbed prey with their hard nails, but some of these had started using tools all of a sudden. Still, she couldn't risk speaking to convey this to Kynos, since goblins were constantly passing underneath.

In time, the last few beams of light faded and the flow of goblins stopped. Kynos hooked up the alchemic light to the kobold in the meager glow of the moons, then lowered it to the ground, following after with himself and Elise. They downed Erwin's potions, albeit reluctantly,
The light, mounted on the kobold's head, easily picked up the bright blue stain on the ground in the darkness of night. As Elise moved to the side and the zombie got on all fours, Kynos slung a vial at the nest entrance. It shattered and shortly after, a firebolt followed it in, erupting into a giant explosion.
The goblins that flooded out of the nest was met by the sight of a howling kobold, marked with a clear blue glow. The first few let out a bloodcurdling screech, and the rest of the nest poured out like a flood. The kobold took off, running relatively slowly with a staggering gait, and the goblins immediately gave chase.
Normally they wouldn't think to engage a kobold pack, but against a single one, the goblins lost any semblance of fear. Kynos glided along the ground, using his magic to keep Elise from tripping over any exposed roots or stray rocks, as they shadowed the kobold from the side. Elise was masterfully manipulating the creature to run just slowly enough that a few goblins could get at it.
In reality, the kobold had insect carapace on almost all of its back, so the goblins would've been hard pressed to even hurt it. On top of that, the thing was a zombie in the first place, meaning it wouldn't be slowed until its body was destroyed beyond repair. Still, the goblins chased it, thinking they were on the verge of bringing it down.
Any goblins that closed in on the two were silently skewered by Kynos, so Elise used her insects to encourage the goblins from the back and sides, stinging to keep them running in a tight knit pack. A few dozen stray goblins in the back gave up on the chase, but like that, the two herded nearly two hundred goblins into the grove.

Era Of The Kobold
Era of the Kobold Returning July Third! Hi there! Thought I forgot about this series, didn't you? In all seriousness, I am sorry for not posting in such a long time. I've been really busy with other things, mainly my education. However, once July hits and I get the time needed to write, I'll be continuing EotK where we left off. It'll be the regular one chapter a week at least, though I'll try to post more frequently for that month. Hopefully you all have been doing well! I'll see you in July. Synopsis: All he wanted was to spend his life gaming. Samuel was an absolute nerd when it came to video games, RPGs especially. He'd play them all day, rarely leaving his house, or even his room for that matter. His peaceful days were sadly ended before he even finished college, however. Despite his expectations, he finds himself reincarnated in a new world as a Kobold. He must now live a hard life as a weak creature that tends to die young and is seen as a monster. How will he manage in this new life and what will he do with it? The rate of publishing will slow down, as I focus on my education.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
