Eagle was sleeping soundly on the lounge when Ann woke him up. "Someone is here to see you".
It took a while for Eagle to open his eyes but by the time he did to his surprise Mads was standing beside Ann. "Mads?"
"Yes it is me". Mads who was still wearing that pink strapless glittery dress spoke softly. She left her high heels at the shoe rack near the main door.
"You don't sound yourself tonight. Is everything alright back at the ball?" Eagle looked into Mads' ocean blue eyes with his green eyes.
"I guess I will leave you both to it", Ann headed towards her room door. "My boyfriend is waiting for me inside. Can't keep him waiting long".
As soon as Ann entered her room and locked her door, Mads began to break down as she took a sit beside Eagle on the lounge and broke down. "I am sorry for everthing I have done to you. All the teasing, mind games, and isolating you at my parties. Forgive me for not standing up for you earlier on at my parties and the ballroom dance. I even joined in with the laugh".
"Hey don't sweat it. This is not the first time I have been rejected".
"Jake certainly deserved what he got. I hope he goes to hospital", Mads broke out in a laugh.
"Why?"
"He did something dispicable tonight. Remember the red head sitting beside you?"
"What's up with her?"
"She is now Jake's new girlfriend. He abruptly broke up with Tomi shortly after you left and kissed Veronica in front of her".
"So her name is Veronica".
"How is Tomi doing?"
"She is back in her room".
"Shall we see how she is?" Eagle expressed concern.
"No, she does not want anyone to bother her at the moment. Ask her tomorrow. Tonight, I will make it up to you. Let's dance". Mads turned on the television before switching the channel from the HBO to the MTV. "This song is perfect for a slow dance". She drag Eagle off the lounge before embracing him and leading the slow dance. "Now lets watch a movie".

Eagle took out the blanket from his room which Mads got under (after switching the television back to HBO channel) and snuggled up to and embraced him before falling asleep together on the lounge. "Thank you, Eagle for everything". She planted a kiss on his head in the middle of watching Abduction. "Do you know that some of these actors were originally from earth?"
"I have heard about that?"
"Our ancestors originally came from earth. That is what my mother told me before coming to this school. She said I have got her South American tanned skin and ocean blue eyes from my father".
"Your mother must be a genius", Eagle wishpered into Mads ear while embracing her from behind.
"Yeah. She was the most intelligent student back in her days. Always scored top marks for history lesson".
"Have you ever thought of visiting earth?"
"Why? It is comfortable here unless you plan to fly there like a space eagle", Mads giggled and elbowed Eagle in the ribs. That hurt Eagle a bit but he pretended like nothing ever happened. "Are you alright?" She turned around and planted a kiss on his nose. "That is just playful me. I do it to Bart all the time and it hurts him bad but I guess he has found a new love".
"Really?"
"Yeah. He abruptly broke up with me after the ballroom dance telling me he is in love with a friend of Veronica's, a dark skinned girl slightly taller than her who was sitting at the left of her".
"I remember her. She was looking at me strange?"
"For what?"
"Having a big appretite". Eagle chuckled tickling Mads who laughed and elbowed him in the ribs once more.
"We have missed half the film. What shall we do?"

"Alien vs Predator is coming up lets wait for that film?"
"Good idea".
Both the teenagers ended up falling asleep on the lounge the moment the film ended. The next day, both teenagers woke up at the same time.
"Thank you for allowing me to spend the night. You are really a nice guy. I am sure some girl who be with you one day". Mads who was still in the arms of Eagle turned around giving him one last kiss on the forehead before getting up from under the blanket, heading towards the door, putting on her high heels and leaving for her unit leaving Eagle alone in the living room. He never bump into Mads again for the rest of the day even when he went to check on his animals. Somehow, he had hope to see her again. Eagle found it strange that Mads left in an unusual polite way not the abrupt way which she usually does.
Monday finally arrived and Mads was not in the class. Tomi seems down and out and the chair beside her was empty. Eagle wandered what happened to Mads. His answer came when Mr Buffalo walked in, "We have lost one student today. She has left us and her animals will go to a student named Sophia".
"When did she leave?" Eagle asked in shocked as he stood up.
"She left us this morning and she packed her bags before saying she will never come back. You might as well forget her as she is gone from the school. Now be a good boy and SIT DOWN".
Eagle complied and tried to pay attention to Mr. Buffalo who was giving the class a history lesson about Earthos but he found himself thinking of Mads every second of the way. All because of a Saturday night snuggled up on his lounge. Bob in the meantime was sleeping and snoring beside him.
Ann was listening to heavy metal with her boyfriend as usual. Mr Buffalo who had been their teacher for the past two years had already given up on them and labled them to be failures and misfits. He payed more attention to the students he deemed to be successful and Eagle was definately not one of them which was a relief for him.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes

Stranger than Fiction (Draft Edition)
Rewrite -> https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/55140/stranger-than-fiction 150k words of rewritten and new content, updating 3 times a day. Faith is like ice-cream. It comes in all flavors. Greek, Norse, Sumerian, Christian— just name it and it's there. Adventures, on the other hand, are like credit cards. The first taste is free, but the price only goes up from there. Family heirlooms, now those are true evil. You get burdened with them for sentimental reasons even if they’re icky. For Lukas Aguilar, it was a pendant. A small, weird metal nib with absolutely no vampiric tendencies. All he wanted was to finish the job at hand, and get on that book he had been postponing for a while now. Instead he got served with an apocalypse for breakfast, a cave full of eldritch monsters for the company and the whims of a ruined goddess for his To-Do list. Really, a simple NO from the universe would have sufficed. Acknowledgments Editor-in-Chief: Solo Starfish Artwork: Exodus
