A year passed quickly, Nathan and Birdie returned from their honeymoon. They were please to find the School of Paradeisos as good as new given the elders appointed by the Headmaster did their best in taking care of it.

"Welcome back!" Bondi and Marrisa spoke in unison.

The young couple were embraced in a group hug. They were a year older and more mature than before. As they were embracing, dark figure appeared wearing black, purple, and red. "Do you all miss me ?"

The dark figure revealing herself to be Ann said, "Hello, Nathan. I was the one who killed your brother!"

"He made his choice", the brown haired man spoke calmly.

"I guess you won't mind if I kill your mother too?" Ann used her telekenetics to drag Mona out of the building towards her. She then proceeded to break her neck while laughing maniacally. "You are the last of your family alive, I guess. Now I am going to kill you and the rest of the eagle riders."

"That is going to be quite a fight. We should all unite". Nathan commanded as all the eagle riders braced themselves. He was thankful than all the small children had grown up and become teenagers and were ready for battle.

Even with the combine powers of the eagle riders, they were no match for Ann. She turned into a dark purple and red dragon and killed off the giant eagles one by one.

Many of the eagle riders were also killed.

"Is this all you eagle riders have got?" Ann who had turned back into her human form mocked while floating in the air looking upon the eagle riders on the ground bracing themselves with their swords. "It looks like I am on the winning team".

"We need to use another strategy." Bondi suggested.

"Use whatever technique you please. You are all no match for me. Don't forget, I have killed some of the most powerful of the eagle riders and you all are nowhere near as powerful". The bride of Black Thanatos continued to mock.

Nathan remembered the words from the Headmaster before he went off to his honey moon. "Together, you are all strong and where there is unity, I will be present among you all".

Finally realising exactly what the Headmaster meant, Nathan commanded the eagle riders to merge their powers together with his. All the eagle riders complied although some were doubtful.

This was enough to allow Nathan to go toe to toe with Ann. He was actually gaining the upperhand as the eagle riders continued to channel their aura into him. "Keep up the good work", Nathan called out.

Ann who was on the losing end of the stick turned into her dragon form and once again turned the tables. Birdie knew the role she had to play, she jump beside Nathan, absorbing some of his powers. The unity of the young couple knocked Ann to he ground and defeated her.

"It is not too late to become a follower of the King of Paradeisos". Nathan and his wife walked up to Ann who was down on the ground offering her a hand.

"In your dreams!" Ann snarled as she disappeared into thin air.

Back at the University of Thanatos.............

"I am sorry, I failed you, master". Ann bowed down trembling in fear.

"It is alright Ann, you had a really rough day. Sleep well".

Ann went to her secret chamber and to her surprise found Mertle and her son waiting for her.

"What have we here", the red head smirked in delight.

"Mertle, what are you doing here with my son?"

"You know what I am here for". Mertle smile now had the cruel edge. "You have failed Black Thanatos and today is my day of promotion".

"Black Thanatos has pardon me and don't forget it was I who trained you to be who you are today". Ann cleched her fist, preparing to defend herself.

"He did as he has left it up to me to kill you. Don't forget the reason we killed Johnsson".

Ann gulped and knew Mertle was bent on killing her. She had indeed raised a ruthless disciple who would stop at nothing for a promotion, even if it meant killing her own mentor.

A fight broke out in the chamber. Both Ann and Mertle were evenly match. Red and purple powers were clashing with red and green ones.

"I never thought this was going to be so fun". Mertle laughed, actually surprise she was able to match Ann blow for blow.

As the boy, Nicholai was watching the whole fight. The red head called out as both women were involved in a steelmate. "Do what is right and make yourself choosen by Black Thanatos!"

These words distracted Ann briefly. Mertle took advantage of that and beat Ann to the ground.

Looking into the eyes who her son who was walking towards her, Ann stared at her son in horror as he plunge a dagger into her heart.

"Well done,Nicholai!" Black Thanatos who appeared out of nowhere laughed. "Well done to you too, Mertle. From now on, it will be your duty to train Nicholai in my ways. You will also take Ann's place as my bride".

Back in the School of Paradeisos, Nathan and the eagle riders burried Mona and the rest of their dead comrades.

"She is in a better place now". Birdie placed her hand on her husband's shoulder as they went back home which was in the main hall of the School.

In other words, Nathan had inherited the home of his parents as well as their powers.

"It is time to look into the future. Our parents and mentors have played their part in life and left a legacy for us to follow. Ann is now dead. We will have to be prepared for what is coming ahead". Nathan who had been silent finally spoke up as soon as the young couple were alone.
