《Undead Girls: A different change》Chapter 4: A beautiful dead day

Author's Note: I would appreciate any help you guys would like to post. Suggestions on the story, ways to improve my writing, or even how was your day. Anything would help out. So without too much whining and hair pulling (From and of me) here's the next chapter.
With the shadowy figure in my mind, we started moving closer to the living room sofa. There was no telling what might happen soon, but I took comfort in the broken piece of wood in my grasp. Gesturing to C behind me, we started closing in closer to the shadow.
A loud crunching sound echoing from the figure was like an ominous foreboding. "Too late to turn back now girl." I thought with C apparently reaching the same conclusion. We moved forward towards the unknown as the shadow began to take shape in the poor lighting.
The back of a little girl hunched over greeted us as things came into focus. Something was in her hands positioned in front of the little girl. "Munch munch munch..."
We moved to the front of the girl to get a clearer view. The first thing noticeable was she was not sick... the girl was clearly dead. Pieces of flesh were missing from her body. Her eyes were milky, and some of the flesh on her face looked chewed on.
Next in line to greet us was the barely recognizable arm she was eating. It looked like an older male's arm, from the hair and what little detail was left on the fleshy parts.
"Why does she look so familiar. I shouldn't be able to recognize something so mangled..." My thoughts whirled. "I know now. That is my sister Evee. It was short for something."
"Gggrrrr..." Evee seemed to grow slighty while still hunched over the arm.

"Okay new thought brain. We know what she is, and what that means... So what does that make me and C?" I suddenly felt like slumping down on the ground. "My sister is a flesh eating corpse."
The noise I almost forgot about feeling started to get louder inside me. It felt like it was coming from the bedroom behind the living room. Glancing at C, it seemed like she felt it to.
Evee started to drop the arm sensing something as well. She started to get up off the ground. Things were starting to make a kind of absurd sense in my mind.
Another shadow lurched nearby from the walkway near the living room. An older woman with badly lacerated arms seemed to be moving towards us.
"Where are they all coming from. Also, now that I think about it... where are we at?" T
"I wonder if she seeing that picture over in the corner that looks like her with the girl..." C
(Thump) A noise seemed to emanate from the Bedroom. Something was moving in there. The other things near us seem to be agitated by the noise.
C grabs my free arm and start tugging on it to get my attention. "nnnggghhh.." She says. It seems like she wants me to look at something. I let her turn my around while the other two seem busy.
A picture stand out on the wall, hard to see what it contains. There can be almost made out people standing in it. As if on cue the lights flicker a little brighter briefly. "Me, that's me standing next to them..." My pale eyes flutter. "this must be my home and they must be family."
(thump) (crash) Whoever is in the other rooms seems to be stumbling about in there.

The woman passes next to us. Getting a good look at her I can tell she's older. "Must be my mom." T thinks. Her dark hair would be beautiful if not for the torn sections and mangled bits of gore in it.
Evee seems to recognize her. She stands fully up and shuffles towards mom. "If they weren't dead this would be almost heartwarming." T thinks as mom reaches out to grasp Evee's slack hand.
The sound of the doorknob turning ruins the ambiance. We all slowly turn towards the door in the distance. "Gasp..." an unknown voice can almost be heard.
I get the felling things are about to turn very bad. "What to do, I don't want to hit my mom or sister..." T thinks. "But this could be someone who can talk and explain what is happening to all of us."
C thinks "I might have to do something for T. This might be one of the hardest decisions ever. Help the possible survivor or not. Either way I wouldn't want her to have to attack family."
Another boom from outside, suddenly the barely holding on lights cut out. Darkness plunges throughout the house.
"Strange, I can still seem to see even without the light." C.
"Oh man, why does it seem like the god of horror clichés hates me!" T
"Gggrrrooowwll." Evee.
"Mmmnnnggghhh." Mom.
The bedroom door stops moving open. A stray though pierces my head. "The arm was more than likely dad's... So Where are Old sister and younger brother?"
"Is it safe for me to come out now?" Unknown voice behind the bedroom door.
Another Chapter down, please enjoy responsibly. Lol, bad puns aside thanks everyone for reading so far. I'll try to improve the writing style, but any advice would be welcome:)

Stories Of Indlu
“… to grow, for opportunity, for adventure, to be free. Join the colony ship Nao Vittoria. Be the first to live amongst the stars.” It was obvious from the literature that the NextStar corporation wanted the young, the adventurous and the brilliant. So why were the super rich fighting over seats? Why were AI’s trying to stow away? Did this signify a premature end to human/AI civilisation? Why had some questions directed to NextStar been aggressively sidelined? Why did the colonist inflight entertainment trial produce fatalities? In fact, why colonists at all? Those and many other questions, however, boiled down to a single central question. Why was the world’s most advanced AI dumped with a hundred year babysitting job for 50 million people speeding towards an uninhabitable planet? It made such little sense. The only sure way to get answers, catch a ride on the Nao Vittoria and play the inflight entertainment game, Pax Domini. I joined, and this is my story. Well, I feature. OK, I’m more of a spectator. Actually, I’m completely irrelevant I was just there. I’m only the storyteller. But what a story to tell. --------- Hi All, Content will be published weekly usually Saturday and typical posts will be 25oo to 4ooo words per post. Though for some reason the Royal Road word count does not include the content of tables so some posts may not appear to meet this criteria. Currently I have written sufficient unedited content to keep this schedule for the next 12 months (half way through the first story arc). My current productivity would indicate that I can maintain this schedule for well into the second story arch. This also allows for the additional content that will be posed exclusively on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/StoriesOfIndlu). This additional content follows minor characters, peripheral events, maps and other content that does not take away from the main story. I would love to accelerate the post schedule but to meet this I need the assistance of more beta readers than I currently have. So please let me know if you are interested. - Andy ©2022 Andy Leauter.
