《Otherworldly Demon Fox》Chapter 3 : Ceria the Little Minotaur

*yawwwwn* Yawning while stretching my fox body I looked at the minotaurs working eagerly putting large blocks of stones on the ground. Although it didn't feel good to sleep on the floor made of stone it's better than nothing.
"Good Morning Your Majesty" Fafnir said while gently landing on the ground, flapping her large bat-like wings slowly.
"Good Morning Fafnir " casually greeted her and then go back to sleep again. I feel like I am becoming more and more lazy lately. I usually sleep for two days then wake up, eat, play with Fafnir and Rimuru then sleep again. By the way, Rimuru is sleeping atop of my head it's his favorite spot now.
"By the way, Your Majesty is it really okay for them to be here, I mean, almost all of the strong members of their tribe are here after all"
I noticed that all of the creatures in the forest are relatively peaceful except for the skirmishes between tribes. And as what you might expect for dragons they are prideful and petty but they aren't arrogant boasting how mighty they are and how superior they are and didn't look down on other species, based on how they are portrayed in novels. It's more like they are usually indifferent.
"Well they insisted strongly it's rude to reject it after they adamantly offer their service to express their gratitude to me, so I accepted their offer" recalling what happened yesterday I can't help but laughed inwardly.

"So, what do you what from me, the King of the Endless forest"
I said while looking at them with half my eyes closed seemingly amused. Well, you can't blame him after all looking at hundreds of minotaur prostrating before him with great respect. Looking at them curiously, he can't help but feel awesome, some of the small minotaurs peek at him curiously. Although the adult minotaur didn't really look cute but the calf certainly looked cute, they look fluffy and cuddly.
An elderly minotaur with a body that looked like a stick compared to other minotaurs walked forward nervously while lowering his head. Though certainly have some muscles here and there but compared to the others he looked like someone half a foot to the grave.

"O' Mighty Guardian of the Endless Forest blah blah blah the minotaur praise me ceaselessly with fancy words and so on although it felt good to praised he can't help but feel annoyed it was already more than thirty minutes since he talked but he was still talking about titles he made up to suck up to him.
"*siiiiiiiigh* alright alright stop it already I know you want something from me, so what is it really," I said sounding annoyed.
"Y-yes, sir! , actually, we were forced to leave our homes because the Hydra of the north went into a rampage, the forest turned into a poisonous swamp because of her, we were fortunate that the goblins helped us if not for many of would've died due to poison". the elder said while quivering.
" Haaah let me guess you want me to deal with her right". I said while showing an annoyed expression.
"T-that's not true at all! Your Majesty we wouldn't dare to order the Almighty being, the Great Guardian of the forest we m-merely wish to seek protection of you". said the elder while desperately rubbing his head on the ground.
It seems that he misunderstands thinking that I was annoyed. Well, it's true that I'm annoyed but not at him but towards the Hydra. As the Guardian of the forest, I can't just turn a blind eye to this, not just for duty but also because I already treat the forest as my home I can't just let that bastard destroy more of this beautiful forest.
"Raise your head, I am going to go and deal with him and investigate what is the reason for her rampage." raising my body elegantly off the ground I asked where is the place and they suggested that one of them will come with me and act as a guide.
"Very well now which one of you will come with me". I asked.
"Me me me please! "and a small minotaur raise her hand timidly but you can see that she really wanted to volunteer as a guide.
"C-Ceria you can't it's dangerous," A female minotaur said while whispering quietly. Well, I can hear you though.

I said "her" because of her voice and her attire is more feminine although it's hard to distinguish the gender of minotaurs if you look at them you will notice their attires are different.
Males have leather hide as their attire with lots of irons and bones as armor, they have metal gauntlets, necklace made of bones and skull of monsters as their helmet while the female ones have animal hide as their clothes same with males but they don't have many accessories except the nose ring and their earrings made of iron.
"Very well, come here child" I said with a gentle voice. She was really adorable I can't help but want to pinch her cheeks. Like I said before little minotaurs are adorable and cuddly, I can't help but lament how did they became muscular even females have muscles though not so much, unlike males that even put Thanos to shame.
"U-um Y-yes!" the little minotaur walked towards me nervously while I gently put down my tail in front of her. My tails are as large as trunk of ancient trees so it was no problem lifting her up easily.
Even though minotaurs are huge they are still small compared to me, Adult male minotaur could be as tall as 3 meters and females can reach up to 2.8 meters. And this adorable ball of fluff is only about 1.5 meters tall, and that's right baby little minotaur are fluffy, unlike adults that only have manes like that of a lion.
As I gently place her on top of my head, she leaked an unsuppressed sound of admiration while looking curiously around it was the first time she was high in the ground after all their tribe is in a relatively low part of the forest. Hearing a commotion I turned my head towards the minotaurs.
"Y-Your Majesty i-is it okay ". the elder said nervously while stuttering. After all, it was the Guardian we're talking about. Even those Monsters that are only leader of a small group wouldn't allow to be ridden by someone much less the King itself.
It seems that it was a great disrespect for her to ride on top of my head and it's okay if I just carry her with my tail they said. Though I still insist on carrying her like this.
"Well she was only a child spare her of the formalities and it's better to carry her like this so that I can talk with her while walking towards the Hydra". It will be a long journey that's what I thought, so it's better to have someone to talk.
After I place her on top of my head I began to walk while the Ceria tell me where to go.
"So, little one can you introduce yourself to me" Although I already know her name it's better to properly introduce and also to ease her up she was too nervous.
"Y-Yes, sir! My name is Ceria Bravehorn, I'm 8 years old! a-and and..." she said while stuttering and slightly shouting at the beginning and whispering at the end.
"Hahahahahahaha you don't have to be that nervous while talking to me it's not like I 'm gonna eat you". Well, that sounds so bad.
"Y-yesss". It seems she's still shy it can't be helped it seems I looked intimidating. He doesn't know that he doesn't really look intimidating but rather he looks so elegant and beautiful especially his fur that is so clean and white that doesn't have a single speck of dirt and dust. ( note: I didn't use the word handsome because it doesn't sound right).
[I thought that the King is scary but it seems that it's not, on the contrary, he seems gentle and kind The Kings fur looks pretty and feel soft haaah I'm afraid that I will only dirty him, I hope he doesn't get angry at me *groan* *sigh*.] Ceria thought while looking around curiously.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
