Finn’s POV:
“Come on Carlos!” I yelled at my best friend.
”I’m coming, just let m rest a second.” Carlos replied, breathing heavily.
Carlos Capen is my best friend and is a honey badger faunus.
“Well hurry up, I really want to check out this ruin before it gets dark.” I tell him.
*You do realize that this ruin is extremely dangerous, right?* Author asks me.
[Yes and that is why I’m going.] I tell Author.
*You are one weird kid you know that?* Author says.
”Hey Carlos, you coming or will I get the treasure by myself?” I ask Carlos.
”No, I’m coming just give me a second. You’re to fast for me.” Carlos tells me after catching up.
By the way, we are currently in the middle of a forest heading towards a ruin that I found a couple of days ago.
30 minutes later...
”We made it!” I scream.
The ruins look almost like a temple but... ruined. There’s moss growing on the walls that’s are still standing.

*Imagine the statues as Lamia.* Author ramdomly says.
[What was that Author?] I ask, more than slightly confused.
*Oh, nothing I was talking to someone elsewhere* Author says mysteriously.
[Ok, you confuse me.] I say.
“Woah.” Carlos whispers.
“I know right?” I also whisper, “Let’s go in!”
I start running towards the entrance.
”Ah! Wait for me!” Carlos yells while running after me.
Once inside I see stairs going downward and I start walking towards them. After I get to them bottom I see three pedestals: the right one has a weird looking shield on it, the left one as some kind of spear on it, and the the middle one has a rock.

”Huff...huff... I finally caught up to you.” Carlos says, clearly out of breath.
”Carlos’s let’s grab those.” I say pointing at the pedestals.
“What?”
”Those, you idiot. You grab the spear and I’ll grab the shield.” I say hitting the back of husband head.
”Ok” he said.
I walk over to the pedestal with the shield and pick it up. It’s the size of a buckler and has a gauntlet attached to it.
”It’s so weird looking.” I say in wonder, “What happens if I put it on?”
I put it on and after my hand is all the way in the gauntlet my finger gets pricked.
“Ow!” I yell out surprised.
The shield starts changing and becomes a ring on my finger. I start pulling on it to try and get it off.
”I can’t get this thing off! What’s going on here?!” I scream, starting to get scared.
*Calm down Finn. It’s not gonna hurt you.* Author says in a reassuring tone.
I finally stop pulling and look over to the rock.
‘I don’t know why but I feel attached to it.’
I move over to the rock and touch it.
‘Smooth!’
I take the rock because I can’t bear to leave it behind.
”Cmon Carlos let’s get home!” I say.
“Oh, ok" Carlos replied startled.

Permanight (Hiatus)
The world of Mecc has fallen into permanent night. Monsters roam the countryside, the sun refuses to rise, and towns and cities alike are falling into disarray. Their only hope is the ancient prophecy, which says a hero of light will emerge to save humanity in their darkest hour... 20 years from now. Too little, too late for those living now. In the midst of the the apocalypse, college student Oscar McAllister finds himself out of a job and out of luck. After accidentally ending up slaying a daemon on his way to get the groceries however, Oscar is haplessly drawn into the world of adventuring and questing, and with the old world falling apart - Oscar becomes one of the many tasked with trying to hold everything together. As he fights however, he is forced to face not just the evil that lurks in the shadows: but the indifference that lurks in people’s hearts. The world is playing a waiting game with human lives, and Oscar is caught right in the middle of it. Note: This is a dark LitRPG story, with dungeons, levelling, and quests in a contemporary setting. Permanight is currently on hiatus while I prepare a rewrite based on the current feedback I've recieved. I'm sorry for the bad news, but I want to bring the world to life in a way that feels real, and at the moment - I'm not entirely convinced that I'm doing that.

Sometimes my voice dies in my throat, buries itself beneath waves of crippling suffocation, burns itself out as cold hands tear at my laced skin. I have smiled while my eyes have cried and pleaded, my wrists numb, my lips wobbling and blue, and stars escaping this dark night that I'm trapped in. I long for a darkness that gives way to light. But I do feel the warmth of petals gathering and scattering in my cold bones, and imagine the touch and the sweetness of a kiss, and my heart rises to the surface of this sea and finds a sky painted by passing artists remaining far above our heads. I'm breathing out all the words I've kept locked under the pages of my breaking mind. And by doing so, I'm going to heal.TRIGGER WARNINGS: depression, anxiety, self harm, suicidal thoughts, OCD, panic attacks
