《Questline: Our Second Chance In Another World》Chapter 17: Guild Hall

The following morning Brandon and the others began preparation for creating their guild.
Brandon was eager to get things started. While Cass and Felix went out hunting for food Brandon, Ava, and Tenjin began prepping to set up the village by deciding what buildings they should place, and where. Also, since Brandon was going to be the guild leader he would have to be the one to create the guild.
He opened up the menu and went straight to the Friends List tab. It was there that he once again laid eyes on the Guild category. After deciding he wanted to create a guild there was another alert that showed up before he could create it.
The system showed the message, "Are you sure you want to create a guild? You will be unable to join any other guilds if you take this action unless you decided to disband the guild."
"Yes, I'm sure." Brandin said to the system. He was then asked to write the name of the guild, and choose the emblem. Unfortunately, there weren't a lot of options for the emblem, so he went with the one that was closest to what he had in mind. It was simply a red Phoenix in a white circle. It wasn't quite what he wanted, but it would do.
Once he created the guild he sent invitations to the rest of the group to join, and it wasn't long before they all had accepted.
With the creation of a guild an entirely new tab popped up next to the friends list, and the old guild category disappeared. When he opened the guild tab the name of the guild was present at the top of the page with the emblem right next to it. Below the name a bar with true words Guild Level next to it. Currently their guild was level 1, and they had 0/100 EXP.
Below the level bars was Brandon's full name next to the word leader, and there was a number representing the total members in the guild. Finally, there was a list of every guild members names.
"Trinity, can you explain to me some of the features of the guild tab?" Brandon requested.
"Sure thing. First things first, as you can see your guild name, emblem, level, the name of your guilds leader, and the number of members your guild has is presented in the top box here. Most of it is pretty self-explanatory, but the guild level determines what kind of benefits your guild has unlocked. As your guild levels up there will be more perks available, and more rooms will be able to be built in your guild hall. You gain experience for your guild by defeating boss monsters, winning guild wars, or by completing main quests." She explained.
"As for the guild members list, it words a lot like the friends list. You can send members part invites, kick them from the guild here, or send them a message. A unique feature that's only available among guild members though is the guild chat. It works kind of like a telepathic link allow members to communicate no matter what the distance."
"Oh, that will be useful." Brandon claimed surprised that such a feature had been included. "Can we set it up to talk to multiple people at once? Like, could we all have a single group chat where everyone hears what each other is saying?"
"Yes that is a feature you can use." She replied.
"Perfect, we can use that to stay in touch in the field. I'm going to try this out." Brandon said enthusiastically.

Brandon attempted to communicate with Cass and Felix. He didn't hear anything back, so he then tried communicating with Tenjin and Ava who were both nearby. "Hey Tenjin, Ava can you guys hear me."
When Brandon tried this he saw the two of them jump, and start to look around confused.
"Brandon where you talking to us just now?" Tenjin inquired confused about what he had just heard.
"Yeah." Brandon said back to him. "I was using the guild chat. Did you hear what I said?"
"Yeah, I heard your voice in my head saying mine and Ava's names." Tenjin said.
"Yeah, I heard it to." Ava explained. "What was that?"
"It's the guild chat function. We can all communicate with one another over long distances now that we're in a guild together." Brandon explained.
"Really? That's awesome!" Tenjin yelled. "This will be really useful for team communication, coordination, and there are probably all kinds of practical uses."
"Yeah, this is really going to help us out." Brandon confirmed. "I can't wait to see how well it works out in the field."
"Hey, come over here Brandon." Ava instructed. "We're ready to show you what we've come up with."
Brandon ran over to where they were, and it appeared they had been drawing a blueprint in the dirt showing how they wanted to organize their little village.
"Alright, let me walk you through everything." Ava began to explain. "We've decided so far to split the village up into three separate districts. We are going to have the guild hall placed right in the middle of the field, and leave a bit of room between the hall and all the other building so there is room to expand.
"Towards the south is going to be the residential district for houses, and to the east is going to be the business district. To start off we are just going to place everything in two rows facing each other. Once other people start moving in we can build outwards from there, and if we have the opportunity to build more public facilities like a town hall, library, school, etc we'll place them around the guild hall. Finally, for public works type builds which will come in later after the town has developed we'll use the northern corner of the field."
"That all sounds good to me." Brandon concurred. "Once the others get back we can start building our village."
"Yeah, but we can start by building the guild hall right now." Tenjin suggested.
"That's true." Brandon said I response to his suggestion. "Let's head to the center of the field then."
The three of them walked over to what was at least close to the exact center of the field as far as anyone could tell. Brandon opened up the guild tab, and thought to himself, "Place guild hall".
As soon as he thought that a small building made of wood and stone appeared before him. It wasn't a s large as they had thought it would be. The whole thing couldn't be more than 50 feet in each direction. It had a large double doorway made of dark colored wood that was about 10 ft high, and the bottom half of the building was cobblestone while the top half of it was wood painted white. The roof itself was also made of wood, but was painted a reddish brown color.
Before they had the chance to step inside Cass and Felix had returned from their hunting trip.

"Hey guys what's this?" Felix asked ecstatic to see that they had already began building their new home base.
"This is the guild hall." Ava explained.
"We were just about to go inside. Want to check it out?" Brandon asked eager to see what it was like along with everyone else.
Without having to say a word Felix and Cass went along with everyone else to take a look at what would become their new home.
Brandon took both of his hands and opened both of the wooden doors leading into the guild hall. He took his first step in and could see that the hall itself didn't have much going on.
The floors were made of the same cobblestone as the walls outside, and there was a decent amount of empty space in the room as well. However, the thing that stood out the most was the long counter that went almost a third of the length of the back wall towards the far right corner of the room. There were shelves against that wall behind the counter and three chairs evenly spaced out behind the counters.
To his surprise there was a person sitting in the middle chair. She looked like she was in her mid to late twenties, she had porcelain skin, brown hairs that was tied back in a bun, and was wearing what looked like business wear. He could see she was wearing a white blouse with a vest and a blue necktie. She also wore square shaped specks, and looked like she was writing something on a piece of paper.
The rest of the group followed Brandon in, and saw the same thing. They couldn't turn their heads away because nobody knew why, or how she was here.
Brandon approached her and stood on the other side of the counter. "Uhm hello." Brandon said to the woman
The woman looked up at him, and immediately began to stand. She had her hands folded together in front of her and created Brandon with a smile. "Hello, my name is Jacelyn. I am your fully functional and self-aware homunculus assistant. It is a pleasure to meet you Guild Master Brandon Walker." She said politely as she stood up and slightly bowed.
As she stood up she could see that she was wearing a black skirt that looked like the type often worn by business women. He could also tell now that he was closer to her that even though she said she was a homunculus she was indistinguishable from a human. Every detail about her looked human from her brown eyes and brown hair to the to the shape of her ears, nose, and jaw line. Everything about her looked human.
"Wait, you're my assistant?" Brandon asked thinking he might have heard her wrong.
"Yes that is correct. Every guild hall comes with a homunculus assistant who will assist guild members in various things like explaining the functions of the guild hall, handling any trades between members, submitting requests to the request board, and various other assignments as needed." Jacelyn explained. "So how can I help you today Guild Master?"
Brandon wasn't really sure what to do with all the information she had given him, so he just asked the first question that came to mind. "Are you sure you're a homunculus? You look and act so human."
Her smile grew a little wide as she tilted her head while responding to Brandon comment. "Yes Guild Master I'm sure. "She responded as she giggled a little bit at the ridiculousness of the question.
The others began to approach them as well once Brandon started talking to her. Felix went right behind the counter and stood right next to her facing her direction. He looked at her from head to toe and could see her slender figure, her white sticking, and the block shoes she was wearing.
"Wow you're really pretty." Felix stated with his mouth slightly ajar.
"Oh, well thank you sir. "She replied politely without even flinching or really reacting in any way.
"What an idiot!" Cass asserted as she began shoving him to the other side of the counter.
"So then Jacelyn could you explain some of the features that the guild hall has right now." Brandon asked curious to see what I'm the hall they'd be able to take advantage of.
"Well first of all if you look on the right and left sides of the door you will see there are a couple of request boards. This is where you can post requests for other guild member like; finding a certain item, slaying a certain monster, or even offers to buy/sell equipment. And over there in the corner where the bench and chairs are is just a waiting area. And of course the counter you're all at right now is the help desk. This room is the reception area. If you want to add more features you have to increase your guild level, and find the materials to build the rooms. However, you can select one type of room free of charge." She explained.
"What kind of rooms are available?" Tenjin asked hoping there would be something useful.
"Right now, your guild is able to add three additional rooms, but you'll need materials for the other two." She informed them. "I can provide you with a list of the rooms you are able to create if you'd like?"
"Sounds good." Brandon replied. "Let's see what's available."
Jacelyn handed Brandon the piece of paper that she had been writing on and there was a list of several types of rooms they could create. The options included living quarters, kitchen and dining area, lounge, workshop, storeroom, and offices.
"Well, we originally wanted the guild hall so we could making living quarters, so let's start with that." Brandon stated after handing the piece of paper back to Jacelyn.
"Very well, the living quarters will be prepared." Jacelyn replied with the same smile on her face that she had shown before.
Right then another set a double doors like the ones on the outside appeared on the back wall right in between the waiting area and the counter they were standing at.
"Okay the living quarters are all done." Jacelyn proclaimed. "Is there anything else I can help you with today?"
"No thanks Jacelyn, we should be good for now." Brandon responded.
The group went through the newly created door to check out the living quarters. Once the stepped through the door they say a long hallway with wood flooring, walls, and ceiling as well. About halfway down the hallways there was another one running perpendicular to it. As they looked around both corners they saw there were three doors evening spaced apart on each wall for a total of twelves, and a window at the end of each hallway.
They each went to open one a separate door and found that the rooms were small. They looked to be about 10 ft wide and 30 feet long with a single bed on the right side of each room, and a dresser and desk on the left. After looking inside the boys met up in the middle of the hallway.
"Well, they're not too impressive, but they are practical." Tenjin said a little disappointed by how bare the rooms were.
"Well, we shouldn't be that surprised." Brandon explained. "They are meant to be living quarters for an entire guild, so I didn't think they'd be that big."
"Hey, it's a lot better than military barracks where all you have is a bunk bed and a footlocker in a room you share with 30 other guys." Felix asserted trying to put things in perspective for the rest of the group.
"Good point." Tenjin conceded. "I guess it could be a lot worse.
"Anyways they should do until we decided to setup our own houses. Well, do you guys want to get started on the residential district." Brandon asked loud enough so even the girls who were inside the rooms on the other side could hear.
Ava and Cass both poked their heads out of the doors of the rooms they were checking out and agreed to go along with the boys to construct their houses.
