《Nephilim: Beyond Good and Evil》Chapter 26: Day of Reckoning

"Hello, this is your local Japanese news station reporting to you live. Just minutes ago a group of terrorists were spotted setting fire to various buildings. Mostly shopping malls, restaurants, and banks. It isn't known what their objective is but we'll keep y-" The news reporter was listening in to his earpiece. "Oh, we'll now show you a live feed taken by air. What you see may disturb you."
The view was now taken of a young boy riding a skateboard through the streets, sliding his hand against various buildings. As he passed by them each and everyone would erupt with burning hot flames. Laughter filled the air as the boy kicked off of his board and held it in his hand.
"This is crazy. A young boy has just set flames to 6 buildings with just his hands? What kind of madness is this? Can we get some kind of details on this kid?"
The next shot was focused on a young female who sounded as professional as possible. She stood with a microphone as she spoke into it. "The young boy is being identified as Rikuto Kannon. He was an inmate of a mental facility and recently broke out due to reasons unknown. We don't know if the doctors knew about his 'condition', but the police force are hurrying to the scene with orders to bring this threat down as quickly as possible."
A close up was shown on the young boy known as Rikuto Kannon who smiled and waved before he started to speak. "The fun's just about to begin! You haven't seen anything yet! Just try and stop us!" Rikuto said gleefully, watching the buildings slowly burn down with people still trapped inside. Clouds of smoke was starting to fill the air above.
The focus went back to the male reporter. "There's still people trapped inside of these buildings. A firefighter team is on its way, but we don't know what to expect with that little devil there. We advise everyone at home to stay home and if you aren't home then get home."
The blaring sounds of multiple sirens filled the air, numerous automobiles from fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars parked by the district while Rikuto walked over to greet them. Two officers came out wielding guns at the boy. They weren't sure what to do with a threat like this besides kill it. They had the safety of the others to worry about.
"We're warning you! If you make any sudden movements we will not hesitate to shoot you!" The officers shouted.
The troopers from the ambulance rushed out, preparing multiple stretchers while the fire fighters were just now getting out. Rikuto had nothing but evil intentions in mind. He slowly raised his hands up, but an officer mistook that for something else and fired multiple shots.
The bullets crackled and in an instant they were melted by a circle of fire that Rikuto generated from his palms. "You guys seem stressed? Is there anyway I can help relive you of that? Maybe a nice relaxing trip to the sauna can fix that. And it just so happens that I can bring it to you free of charge!"
His hands released multiple streams of fireballs which darted out by the police cars. The officers quickly hid behind their car, thinking of someway to end this situation. One pulled out his phone to request back up. A fireball rammed into the firetruck, the strength knocking it over and causing it to tip over. Any remaining fire fighters quickly got out before they became trapped.

A group had went to a local fire hydrant and had connected it to their hose, aiming it at the little devil who was causing so much destruction. "We'll cool this hothead off. Give it everything you got." The chief firefighter said before splashing a stream of water at a surprised Rikuto.
The young one turned his body and shot a stream of flames which was quickly submerged by the high pressure water. It passed on by and crashed into his body, the impact pushed him back until he was laying on the ground completely drenched with water.
"Oww... you guys are a bunch of bullies. That's so not cool! All of you ganging up on a little kid!"
Back at Kodomo's house everyone was gathered around the T.V. watching the impending battle between Rikuto and law enforcers. Tension was clearly in the air so thick that you could cut it with a butter knife. Terios was the first to speak out on everything that was going down.
"So, how are we going to handle this Eli? Is it just one of them or will there be more?" Terios asked.
Ira, Kodomo and Akari glanced over at Eli who had his fingers wrapped around his chin, he was giving this some hard thought. He knew this would be Kazuki's major move to set everything off. How would he react to it without falling into a trap?
Setsuna stood by Terios while Akemi sat on the couch without a care in the world, he didn't seem too phased by the events that was going on live. "This is the message we've been waiting for. Kazuki's ready to put his plan into action. He's been planning for awhile and now he's making his move. I'm afraid what he wants more than anything right now is a war with the Angels and in order to do that he's going to something drastic such as this."
"He'd go to these lengths? Is this all about revenge for his mother?" Terios asked.
"I don't know. Still, we can't let this continue. This isn't right."
"Yeah it's certainly not chill man. I think these guys need to cool off a bit." Ira mentioned.
Kodomo released a soft yawn. "A lot of interesting things are going to be developing. At this rate the Angels will start being more aggressive and then it's curtains for all of us." He moved a finger over his neck.
"Man, when are we just going to go there and kick ass? We're not going to solve the problem by twiddling our thumbs." Akemi said.
"Yeah. This kid's a new member and I don't know if he's alone or not. Four of us should go there while the rest of us wait here to see if anything else goes down. We could be playing right into his hands."
"Leave this to me, Eli. If anything I want to know what I'm up against. If there's a way I can stop them from causing all of this damage then I want to do that." Terios said.
"I'm going with you." Setsuna and Akari said at the same time. The two of them stared sparks at each other while Terios wrapped her arms around his right arm while Akari did the same to his left.
"He's my brother..." Setsuna said.
"He's actually related to me." Akari answered.
"I'm closer to him then you can ever hope to be."
"Says you."
"It's true, Terios and I engaged in the heartfelt pas-"

"Hahaha!" Terios covered Setsuna's mouth while looking at Akari. "It's ok, really. You're both my sisters and as your brother I don't really want to get you involved, but, I know that's going to be pretty much impossible."
Akari raised an eyebrow, looking at the two strangely.
"No offense, Akari. I think it'd be better if the Kiyomizus and I went to handle things. I'm more concerned about those people in those buildings and Akemi and Setsuna have the needed abilities to get them out safely." Eli said.
"B-but."
"Pfft. Like I want to spend my time saving strangers. I'm only doing this because I have nothing better to do. You're always getting into something annoying, Terios." Akemi said.
"Hey this isn't my fault." Terios defended.
Akari pouted, but Kodomo went over to pat her back. "Fear not, Akari. You get to stay here with Domo-chan and Ira."
"Yay..." Akari said with sarcasm.
"Don't worry bro. We'll keep a lookout and text you if anything bad happens. It's actually pretty smart to use the others. If all of us Nephilim went then they'd easily sense our divine aura." Ira said.
"We don't know for sure that they won't get involved. I'd like to end this as quickly as possible." Eli said.
Meanwhile back at the battleground.
"Burn, burn, burn, burn, BURN, BURN, BURN! Hahaha, it's so amazing! The way I can bend the flames with a mere thought! Don't you guys agree!?" Rikuto snickered as his flames took the form of two serpents, dancing around as they crashed into the officers, setting their bodies aflame. They writhed in agony and twitched and twisted, anything to lessen the pain of the flames until finally they couldn't handle it anymore.
"AGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!" They all screamed and gave in to their fate.
"This is so much fun! Thanks for playing with us guys! Mother and I haven't had this much fun in awhile!" Rikuto said.
The sound of a helicopter was directly above him as a man with an armed gun pointed it at him before he started to fire. Rikuto gave off a playful smile as he conjured a wall of flames to nullify all bullets that would have shot through him and soon threw it toward them.
"Move! We have oncoming!" The man shouted.
The chopper tried to make a sharp turn, but the wall of flames blasted it and had it spiraling out of control, crashing into a nearby building and exploding on impact. Rikuto merely laughed like a psychopath as he witnessed the destruction around him. Burning buildings, injured officers mixed with dead ones, trapped people in previously mentioned buildings.
"Kazuki's the best letting mother and I play like this! Who's next!?"
Soon a purple portal opened up behind Rikuto and out stepped the group of four, Terios, Akemi, Eli and Setsuna. Rikuto quickly turned around startled by the arrival of his new playmates. His hand rested on his chest and he released a soft sigh.
"You guys gave me a surprise. Let me guess, you're here because I've been a bad boy. And bad boys have to get punished, right?"
"Who is this weird kid?" Akemi mentioned.
"I'm Rikuto Kannon. Nice to meet you." He began to approach them, but Setsuna had already drew out her scythe as a warning. "Oh, I guess we aren't really on the same page here."
"Akemi, Setsuna, Terios. Can you guys do me a favor?"
"Hmm?" Terios asked.
"Let me handle Rikuto for awhile. Can you focus on saving the injured and getting everyone to safety?"
"Yeah we can do that, right guys?"
"Mhm." Setsuna answered.
"Tch. Whatever." Akemi said.
"Thanks. That takes away a lot of my worries." Eli confessed.
Akemi glanced over at the building, blurring off quickly toward them leaving Rikuto beaming in awe. He was surprised by how fast he could move.
"So fast! Wow!"
Setsuna opened another portal where Terios and her entered, disappearing from the field, leaving Eli alone with the little devil. The atmosphere was strange this kid didn't seem to feel bad for harming and killing those people. His ability was troublesome, but Eli still wanted to be sure of some things.
"Rikuto. They said that you were once a patient. Is that true?"
"It sure is."
"Did you break out?"
"I really wanted to, but I was too drugged to use my powers! I thought I was going to be trapped there forever until my guardian angel came to save me. Kazuki found me and was disgusted with the way they were holding me back. Why do you care?"
"I'm just wondering if Kazuki is making you do any of this."
"Hehe, well, he didn't make me do anything. He gave me a choice and freedom to make my own decisions. So, mother and I decided to help him out."
"Your mother?"
"She's a bit angry with you getting involved, but she also thinks you're cute so I won't go too hard on you."
"U-uhh? Right..." Eli was pretty much confused, but knew what to expect from a patient like Rikuto. He sighed softly. "I promise I won't hurt you."
"That's so kind of you. I can't say the same for you!"
Waving his hand into the air, he generated a large amount of flames which began to morph into axes which twirled within the air after watching them spin he smiled and tossed them all at Eli whose eyes widened.
He quickly leapt back and moved his body accordingly, dodging and avoiding all forms of harm, but they kept on coming, he was certainly a grand fire manipulator. He's never seen someone able to generate so much fire in such a short amount of time.
"You aren't bad, but you'll need to do better than that to come close to stopping me." He said as he charged forward, avoiding any and all of his fires axes in the process. When he came close to Rikuto the little boy flinched and conjured up a wall of flames to discourage him from attacking, however this didn't stop Eli. He clenched his jaw and slammed a fist through, entering the flames and landing a clean hit right in the center of the boy's face. The blunt force caused blood to rush from his nose and mouth, sending him sliding along the ground.
"Owww! You... promised me it wouldn't hurt you liar!" Rikuto whined as he held his bleeding nose.
"I thought that would have knocked you out. You're tougher than I imagined." Eli closed his fist, looking at his fist which lacked any sigh of harm. Thankfully he was so durable that his flames wouldn't do much damage to him. He was the one best suitable to fighting this pyromaniac.
"Well it didn't and now... I'm mad."
Moving into the building like a bullet train was none other then Akemi. When he came to a stop, his clothes and hair moved around violently. His dark red eyes scanned the area before he noticed a man trapped under some broken rubble to his left. To his right were a couple who were rather dead or knocked out and a trail of flames were on their tail.
Akemi blurred off toward the man who was trapped under debris and with a combination of his speed and power he lifted it off of him, one by one before he touched the older man's side.
"Hey get your ass up. We're getting the hell out of here."
"Uggh... I can't move..."
"Don't worry, I got ya." He said as he picked him up, carrying him on his shoulder before he quickly walked over to the couple. He approached them and kicked the guy a couple of times and once he heard him groan he realized he was alive. He picked the two of them up as well, adding them to his collection.
If he didn't have enhanced strength then this would be a troublesome task. As he walked on over to the exit he noticed something strange... the exit was getting further and further away. "What the hell? This can't be right."
The room was only increasing in temperature, yet he couldn't reach the exit? This problem was very annoying and so he decided to enhance his speed to make a quick exit, but that too didn't solve the problem. The door was still always out of his reach.
"Fuck this! This is why I hate being a hero. Tch. We'll make our own exit." Akemi walked over to a nearby wall and as he went to reach out for it, it moved away from him. "I'm seriously starting to get pissed off now!"
What was this? How was it that the exits were 'moving' away from Akemi? Would he be able to leave before the building collapsed?
