"S-student what is your Bloodline?" Otto asked the same question he asked to Kence. Sven's soul control was superb and monstrous, it would be great if he's not like Kence who has good soul control but with no suitable Bloodline

"Poison Serpent" Sven answered before walking back to his seat. Otto nodded and was a bit disappointed. Poison attribute can also fall under wood category after all there are poisonous plants. But unlike those who have pure fire or poison Bloodline it was inferior in removing impurities or preserving the herb's essence. However if Sven decided to make poison things his Bloodline would be a great help

Sven sat on his seat while Kence was looking at him like he's a monster. Although Sven taught him some things but he never saw the kid personally taking action before. Witnessing his out of this world talent Kence was really shock. Sven narrowed his eyes when he saw how Kence looked at him. The latter realized that it was rude and averted his gaze

After all the students were tested it was now time for the real action. The school in this world was really straight to the point. Unlike in earth where the first day of class would usually be introducing yourself and knowing the rules and regulations. The school in this world made the student to learn immediately. They didn't waste any time to train their own students

"Today you all will try to make a Rank 0 Healing Pill. I know most of you already know the recipe but as your teacher I will still guide you. Now, look at the red grass in front of you"

Otto walked to another table for the teacher. Just like the student's table, his also has the materials needed to make pills. "I will first demonstrate the process. Watch attentively students, don't let your arrogance eat you. Those who won't watch the process carefully would have a deduction on the resources they will get"

The students at first didn't plan to watch the making of such low levelled herb but Otto's threat was really effective. They are after all in this academy for resources. Otto took three of the red grass and put it in a clean stone bowl then started hitting it with a stone mortar for its juice. "Since you all are still low levelled you can only take the grass' essence by doing it manually. Don't try to use soul power you will just waste your time"

After making sure that there were no juices left in the grass Otto took a strainer like thing made from metal wires. He poured the juice on a glass vial and the dried grass was left on the strainer. "This method is a crude way. There would naturally be impurities on this juice and some of the medicinal essence left on the grass. But at your level all of you doesn't have strong enough soul control to do the process using your soul power"

The students were bored as they already knew the things Otto said but they still act like they were listening attentively. Even Sven was looking at how Otto will make the pill. He was after all in this 'lowly place' only for resources. Their shallow cultivation and alchemy knowledge doesn't interest him at all. Only Kence was the one that's putting the hundred percent of his focus in digesting the alchemy knowledge. Sven's words gave him some hope that there was a chance for him to become a great alchemist. He will make sure that he will do his best

"This Rank 0 Healing Pill only has two ingredients. One is the red grass and the last is this common ginseng root" Otto raised the common ginseng root to show everyone before putting it in another clean stone bowl

He repeated the same process on the ginseng root and started hitting it with the mortar for its juice. "Watch the way I use the mortar to get the herb's juice"

The students boredly watched the old man hitting a ginseng with a stone mortar. "Even without soul power there is still an inferior way to remove impurities. The technique is not to hit it too hard or light. If you hit it too lightly the juice won't come out while if you it hit too hard its bound to have some herb parts mixed in the juice that cannot be seen by the naked eyes"

Kence nodded his head and made sure to remember it. His teacher's words actually made sense. If you hit the herb too hard more part of it will split and some of it was not something you can see with your eyes. He was once again amazed at his teacher

Sven on the other hand only wants this boring session to end. He has thousands of ways to remove impurities without using soul power he doesn't need to listen to this basic knowledge.

Otto used another clean strainer to put the juices in another glass vial

"The next part is heating the juices in a cauldron to further remove some impurities and stimulate the medicinal essence" Otto took a small cauldron that's only a few inches big. Fortunately although the quality of equipments in the classroom was quite lacking but it has all the things a low level alchemist will need

Otto then made a fire below the cauldron with a snap of his finger and when it was hot enough he poured the red grass' juice in the cauldron and stirring it with his soul power. "Students, you can use a stick to stir the juice as to not waste your already low amount of soul power"

After some time the teacher also poured the juice that came from the common ginseng root. After the two kinds of juice met the liquid started boiling aggressively as if it will explode any moment. "Next is the last two final steps. For now, I advise you all to only use your soul power in this process and the next one as it is required"

More soul power came out from Otto's hand and he used it to mix the two different essence. "The most important and hardest step is to use your soul power to combine the essences and empower it with your soul power"

After the two kinds of essence fully combined the liquid calmed down. While the soul power that was used to combine it was left inside the liquid mixture and become part of it. "After you successfully combined the essences the next process was extremely easy. You only need to manipulate it to form into pills"

More soul power covered the liquid mixture and condensed it. Soon, only a red pill was left in the small cauldron. "And that's how you make the Rank 0 Healing Pill. Its purity is only about 50% as I didn't use my soul power in all of the process. But it still will fetch for about three copper coins while one copper coin was enough to buy a few set of ingredients"

The Nobles naturally don't care about mere opper coins. It was not even enough to call it a spare change for them. They will only make this kind of pill for their alchemy practice. Kence on the other hand gloated, if he can make this pill then he would be able to earn money of his own. He now doesn't need to rely on his parents

"Now, its your turn to make your own pills. If you have any question I will happily answer them" Otto smiled and motion the students to start trying to make the pill. "Although this is just a Rank 0 Pill but don't underestimate it. Normally it took more than ten tries to successfully make one. Don't be discourage if you fail okay? You can still try again and the academy will provide the ingredients for free"

These kind of materials were actually 'trash' in front of the academy. Whether it be the red grass or the ginseng both of it were too common that they literally grew everywhere. Mountains has tons of these herbs and that's why they are extremely cheap

Kence lightly slapped his hands on his face and turned all of his focus in pill making. What he doesn't know was Yohan was looking at him and Sven while sneering. Yohan will not accept any more humiliation and will make sure to do better than them

Thus, the students started making the pill. Although Otto didnt said it but they knew this was also a test of their talent. The one who will be successful in making a pill with lesser tries are more talented and will have more cultivation resources. All of them are determined to make pill with as less try as they can. Kence readied all the ingredients and equipments that he needed to make the pill and placed it neatly on his table

Kence carefully place three red grass on a clean stone bowl. Fortunately the process was quite simple and he memorized it already. He can at least try making it rather than just standing there like a fool because he didn't even know the recipe at all

He took the stone mortar and started carefully grinding the red grass. He doesn't know how much strength he needs to put on his arm but he tried as best as he can to put the same arm strength Otto used based on his gut feelings

Soon, juices started coming out from the red grass and when Kence decided that it was enough he stopped and took the strainer. He poured the stone bowl's content in the strainer so that only the juice will fall in the glass vial

Kence blew out some air from his mouth and put a ginseng to another clean stone bowl. He repeated the same process and poured the juice in another glass vial with the help of the strainer. Kence closed his eyes to control his Bloodline power and use it to stimulate a fire red stone below the cauldron. A cauldron that looks exactly like the one Otto used

When his Bloodline power stimulated the fire stone it started burning with some fire. It was just like the water stone in the academy's dorm but instead of water coming out from it when one stimulate it the stone will produce a small fire. The fire started heating up the cauldrom and when Kence judged that it was enough he poured the red grass' juice on it and use a small stick to stir it gently

After the red grass' juice was heated enough it was now time to add the ginseng's juice. "And here is the moment of truth" Kence said to himself and took a deep breath before pouring another liquid in the small cauldron

The liquid started bubbling aggressively as if an explosion will occur. Kence's closed his eyes again and after a few seconds his soul power successfully entered the physical realm. He poured as much soul power as he can inside the cauldron. The soul power was like an extension of himself and when he focused on it Kence saw millions of particles that made up the liquid mixture

There are two kinds of particles that were clashing at each other, it was his job to calm them down and let them combine. His soul power started calming and guiding the particles to combine to produce a healing effect. He poured as many as soul power as he can and it depleted almost a third of his soul power

Kence's rate of combination was a bit slow and after some time a small explosion occured inside the cauldron and some smoke flew out from it. Kence was choked by the smoke and started coughing. Similar scenes happened everywhere in the classroom and even Yohan failed at his first try. It was like someone splashed a bucket of cold waters in the Noble kids as they never thought they would fail at their first try

For them a Rank 0 pill is a trash and was easy to make. Too bad reality slapped them.
