《Captured》Chapter 1 - Lab Life

A loud alarm blared as I reluctantly woke up, I blink a couple of times to get my eyes adjusted to the blinding white cell. I yawn and stand up, stretching my back and sounding like something rolling over bubble wrap. I sigh and try to crack my neck but the collar that is hooked up to the wall with chains refuses to let me. I walk over to the one-way window and stare at the silhouettes on the other side.
I sigh as I place my forehead against the glass, the cold, flat surface helped my pounding headache. Before I had the chance to think about being relaxed, I get yanked to the wall. I roll my eyes “You know that really is a pain” I growl as I glare at my reflection in the glass. I watched silhouettes walk back and forth, then heard the door hiss as it opened. Two guards threw a large buck carcass into the room and walked out; the door hissing closed behind them.
I get released from the wall and my restraints come undone. I pause for a moment, then break the straps on the straight jacket as I quickly take it off. “It was ugly and uncomfortable.” I say as I walk over to the dead buck. “They got it right this time, it’s only paralyzed” I smile and use my long, sharp nail to tear open the stomach of the buck, it was fascinating to watch the heartbeat and the lungs rise and fall as the animal took quick breaths.
I lick the blood off my nail and reach to the heart, cutting the arteries and taking a bite out of the top of it. I watched the life from the bucks' eyes fade as its blood pooled on the pure white floor. I smile wide again and shove the rest of the heart in my mouth. “I knew this place would look better with a paint job.”

I move to the lungs and tear them out violently, now that I have had a taste of food, I want more. I have not been fed in weeks and was starving. I tear the intestines and stomach out; blood was getting everywhere at this point. I smile “Now my eyes can have a break from the blinding white.” I said as I dipped my hands in the blood and walked to the glass. I violently smacked the glass with my hands and left bloody handprints on it.
Since I was in such an artistic mood, I decided to take the intestines and smear them on the pure white walls, I took the stomach and threw it at the fluorescent light in the middle of the room. I laugh as I spread the blood everywhere and sat back down next to the buck, proceeding to core it and tear a layer of fur off the side. I threw the bloody fur and bit into the muscle, then continued to devour the bucks’ carcass
Once I was done, I sat in the corner of my cell, farthest away from the door and sighed of relief. I held my stomach and yawned. “That... was one delicious meal,” I lazily wiped the blood off my face and chest with the torn straight jacket. I shrunk down from sitting against the wall to laying on the floor and fell asleep.
I was woken up to my door hissing and opening. Two guards walked in, one took the remains of the buck and the other walked over to me, he crouched next to me and tilted his head. “What are you staring at?” I said as I sat up and yawned, the guard gestured for me to follow him. “Work-out time,” he said as he held iron cuffs out. I sighed and held my wrists out, he put them on and connected a chain to them as he walked me out of the cell. The other guard following closely behind with his gun pointed at my back.

I sigh as I follow the guard in front of me, “You two are being waaayy to overprotective, I’m too full to do anything, I can’t even keep my damn eyes open,” I said as I slowly blinked, adding a dramatic affect. The guard behind me poked my back with the tip of my gun and I spun around, I grabbed the tip of the gun and pulled it into the air, then proceeded to grab his face with my other hand and lift him in the air. The other guard tased me and alarms started going off, but I still managed to pull the first guards head off his shoulders. “You have a weak taser compared to other guards,” I smiled as I grabbed the second guard and threw him at another test subject window, I looked in and it was my sister, I waved, and she waved back. Then I continued to pin the guard to the window and cut through the protective vest, then began to core his stomach while he was screaming in pain.
Finally, ten guards showed up and I dropped the body, I faced them with my hands above my head slowly and smiled, having blood streaked across my face and sighing of satisfaction. “Alright, you can take me back to my cell, I’m satisfied with my work, but hey, it wasn’t my fault. Blame the dead guys.” I pointed to the two corpses as two guards with superior weapons and armor escorted me back to my blood-drenched cell.
I used the torn up straight jacket again to wipe the blood off my face, then walked over to the window “Hey, can I get a hair tie please, my hair is being a dumb-ass.” I said as I blew a strand out of my face. Through a little slot in the glass a womans hand peered through with a rubber band, I was shocked by her. Usually, they ignore me or throw it in, not wait for me to grab it. I gently took the rubber band and put my hair up, it came to my waist in a high ponytail and some hairs fell out and around my face.
I sat in the corner that was not soaked in blood and closed my eyes, then got disrupted by the door hissing to be unlocked. “Hello, Mr. Bishop, I am Dr. Emily, and I am filling in for Dr. Carter.” I tilted my head, and she nodded “He never told you his name, did he? Also, you can keep the rubber band” she smiled gently. She came in by herself and sat in front of me.
“Aren’t you afraid of me?” I said as I stared her in the eyes.

Blaze
The story of a fire elemental's life in a world dominated by mages. He will have to learn how to manage betrayals, treachery, and maybe even love as he goes on adventures to find a meaning to it all. From dark, humble beginnings he will rise... or fall, devastating amounts in his journey across the world. Hello, Author here! I am, unfortunately, rather terrible at coming up with descriptions that seem to have the right amount of decorum and yet actually serve their function of adequately describing the story, so here's the coursenotes. - The story follows a fire elemental. (As you can tell from that, it is heavily besed on fantasy with mages and the like. Technology will not feature prominently) -As mentioned in the tags, this will have game-like aspects. (E.G. levels, stats. I will be trying to put my own twist on this notion however, so bear with me if the premise intrests you but you despise LitRpg) -It'll get rather dark, but not devastatingly so. (I'm trying to write a more complex story so it will have its dark moments, the prologue being one of them. Rest assured the whole story will not be this dark, though I'll make sure that no-one is a saint either) -The protagonist/protagonists will not be a Mary-Sue. (The plural will be understood when I'm further into the story. They also won't be impossiby unlikeable such as those in many Light novels.) -There is no prophecy (Anyone who says there is, is lying, trust me.)
