Three days later is finally the Moon Festival. Xiaomi and Zhan Ziyuan came to the Mt. Gaoshan Academy to visit her. Nobody knew that Zhan Ziyuan was the actual Headmaster that Xiaolian was temporarily replacing. Zhan Ziyuan and Xiaomi came to visit her as her faraway cousins. They did not dare use their real identity. Firstly, Zhan Ziyuan wanted to take a look around and observe the academy and secondly is to visit Xiaolian, and thirdly is to accompany Xiaolian and Xiaomi to the Moon Festival. Zhan Ziyuan still wore his white robe with the silver mask covering half of his face while Xiaomi follow suit in a men outfit and with her face covered with a sheer white silk veil.

As soon as Xiaolian heard of the visitors, she hurried back to the Dream Residence where she rested at. There, she saw Zhan Ziyuan and Xiaomi sitting and chatting with Mr. Lan. She hurries and greeted them as soon as she gets there. Xiaomi quickly ran to her and hug her, “I missed you so much!” She said smiling showing her beautiful straight teeth.

Zhan Ziyuan commented, “Xiaomi, behave we are in Mt. Gaoshan Academy.”

As soon as her name was mentioned, Mr. Lan’s eyes shifted to Xiaomi and even had on a half smile. Xiaomi noticed his gaze and stops misbehaving immediately. She went back to sit down. Mr. Lan invited, “Headmaster Shen, please sit.” As soon as Xiaolian sit, he continues, “I heard Headmaster Shen is going to Moon Festival with Mu Anying?” He asked deliberately.

Xiaomi seems displeased and turn to Xiaolian, “Is that true? I thought you sent a letter to me to go with you?” She looks at Xiaolian pouting as if she is seeking for a reply.

Xiaolian smiles and replied calmly, “Actually, I agreed to go with her to help her only, but who said I am going alone?” She looks at Xiaomi, “Isn’t it me bringing you along as well?”

Zhan Ziyuan added, “And me,” he raise his eyebrow at her flirtatiously, “I’d like to see which beauty you’ve been rejecting. I am far but I heard a lot of things and so I am very informed of what’s happening.” He laughs playfully, “I can’t believe you’re not taking the initiative at all.”

Xiaolian did not reply. She sigh, “You just want to make fun of me.”

Mr. Lan then interrupted, “Then I shall go too. I’d like to witness what special occasion it is for you to lend Mu Anying a helping hand.”

As night approaches, stalls were opened for the festivals, there were musics, lanterns, stalls, restaurants, fireworks, and very lively. The streets were filled with people everywhere very lively. Women dressed beautifully as they either had appointments with their loved ones or secretly came to see their loved ones. The whole city was filled with festivities.

Mu Anying wore a purple robe, very beautiful as it flutters with the wind as wind blew by. The purple has black pattern designs on the hem of the outer layer. It also has extra sheer arm robes around her arms making her look like a dark celestial being. At first she wanted to wear red, but Mu Yihang thought red is too fierce so he changed her color to purple making it more majestic. Her hair was put up in a crown very beautifully leaving some down. She curled her hair leaving her bangs curled to the side.

Mu Anying waited at the big bridge in the city for Xiaolian’s arrival. To her surprise, she saw Xiaolian but also saw many other people with her. She was happy but also disappointed because she thought it was going to be just ‘them’. Xiaolian walks to her and introduces, “Mu Anying, this is my two cousins from afar…” She pauses and thinks of a name for them both, “Zhan Yuan and Zhan Mi,” she finish it off with a smile, “And Mr. Lan.”

Mu Anying felt awkward deep inside but she smiles and greeted back, “Nice to meet you all.” She hurries to Xiaolian’s side and stood close to her. Xiaomi saw this and pushes Zhan Ziyuan aside and side next to Xiaolian as well not allowing another woman to snatch her sister from her. Mu Anying saw this and was shocked and she wonders what relationship Headmaster Shen has with Xiaomi. This scene makes Xiaolian feel very uncomfortable and awkward. She looks at Zhan Ziyuan and Mr. Lan and noticed they just looked at them and ignore the situation walking up ahead not wanting to partake in anything.

“Wait don’t leav-!” Xiaolian calls out but they both walks away in a hurry. Xiaolian looks at Xiaomi and said, “Don’t be naughty. Why didn’t you wear the better clothing I’ve always made for you? Why are you in plain outfit today?”

Xiaomi reply like a pouting, “It is all thanks to Zhan Ziyuan. To be able to come out I must dress like this.” She asks coquettishly, “Why?”

Xiaolian shook, “Nothing you look good in anything you wear.” With this reply, Mu Anying was a little sadden due to not knowing what relationship they had beside far away cousin.

Not far from the bridge, was a pavilion where they held dancing competition every year see whose the best dancer. Mu Anying thought it would be a great chance for her to show off her capability to enchant Shenqiao. She lead them there and puts her name down to perform. That place was where she had to compete with the other girls from the academy see who gets number one that year.

Xiaomi saw the dance stage and was enchanted by the stage as it is a huge stage with beautiful lights in the area making the stage the center of attention. She really wants to dance and compete as well. She turn to Xiaolian, “May I sign up as well?”

Xiaolian looks at her and shook, “No.” With that, her hope is crushed. She sigh and just nod her head. She can only enjoy other people’s dance.

The other girls from the academy was quite surprised when they saw Shenqiao with Mu Anying as they all know she was repeatedly rejected by Shenqiao. They all wants to see her make a fool of herself little did they know their plan was unsuccessful and this even bring them embarrassment for failing their goal. They all greeted Shenqiao respectfully as they sign up for their names to be on the dance roster waiting for their turn to dance. They can’t wait to see Mu Anying fail in her dance as they all have backup plan planted already.

The crowd gather as the dance competition is going to begin. There were so many people on that night witnessing the dance competition. There are many youngsters, noblemen, swordsman, officials, lots of pugilistic world people gathered around there at the Moon Festival. If they were to plan something, it will be hard to pinpoint where the problem lie.

Xiaolian turn to Mu Anying and question, “Are they making things difficult for you?”

She nods, “Yes, they can’t wait for me to mess up. I am so sorry I dragged you along just to make me look good.”

Xiaolian shook and smirks, “You’re fine. Please do be careful of yourself then.”

Mu Anying agreed, “Yes Brother Shen.” When she calls him Brother Shen, Xiaomi gave her an unbelievable stare. She cannot believe her eyes what she is hearing. A girl is falling for her sister and yet she cannot say anything nor correct the pitiful girl. Zhan Ziyuan gave her a glare for her to keep quiet and shut up and she just shut her mouth. She agreed to listen and obey Zhan Ziyuan in order to come out so she have to keep her words.

It is now Zhou Lian, one of the girls whom instigated Mu Anying to dance, turn to dance. She fly to the sky and blended in the night sky as she dances gracefully with a seductive gaze looking at the audiences trying to draw all the attention toward her. Most people stared in awe and was even enjoying such a scene like a celestial descending from above. People shouted in excitement and even clapped their hands at her performance. Many toasted to as they found her dance piercing with seductiveness.

Mu Anying looks at the audience and found many people praising Zhou Lian’s performance. She can’t wait until it’s her turn to outshine the crappy dance of hers. After Zhou Lian descended, it was now Zhou Mian’s turn. On the contrary to her older sister’s talent, she give the audience a sword dance. Many people applauded her for her creativity and even praise her talent skills. Many would think she excelled in martial arts. Her sword dance was so graceful and has an aura of respect, self reserve, fierce yet discreet illuminating into the full moon as her white dress flutters when she twist and moves her body in a twirl in the mid air.

As Zhou Mian finishes her dance, many people applauded her even thought she resembles Xiaolongnu from afar, the ageless white beauty whom resided in a cave with Yang Gao. Zhou Mian and Zhou Lian receive equal praises. There conceited eyes turn to Mu Anying as if they have won the audiences already. Mu Anying’s name was announced next.

Mu Anying step into the stage and waited for the music to begin. As soon as the music begin, she closes her eyes and started dancing starting with powerful move stances. Her red hair was let down as if she was the lantern lighting up the night. Her purple dress flutters with the wind providing assistance as if she was floating in the night sky searching for the light.

Xiaomi and Xiaolian watch her dances. Xiaomi was enjoying her performance, but Xiaolian was keeping her eyes on the crowd being on the alert someone may try to sabotage her performance. Mr. Lan and Zhan Ziyuan was aside silently. Mr. Lan broke the silence, “You sure have unique cousins.”

Zhan Ziyuan smirks, “Of course I am pretty lucky with beautiful people by my side.”

Mr. Lan smirks retorting, “Xiaomi isn’t your sister on the contrary she is Headmaster Shen’s sister. You can cut the bull crap you can’t get pass me with this cheap scheme of yours.”

Zhan Ziyuan was quite amazed that Mr. Lan is not as silly as he thought. His voice got serious with a deeper tone no longer trying to hide anything, “You’re right. They are a beautiful pair of sibling that you can’t conceal don’t you agree with me?” He raises his eyebrow waiting for a reply. Mr. Lan smiles and turn back to enjoy the performance.

As Mu Anying was in the air doing a maneuver move, an arrow was shot straight to her from the crowd. She saw the arrow and was caught off guard and messed up in the air falling down helplessly as she was caught off guard. The arrow was quickly caught by Xiaolian as she pays close attention to the crowd and so she noticed an arrow heading toward Mu Anying so before the arrow hits Mu Anying, she had already flew up into the mid air to catch the arrow. She saw Mu Anying falling down and she quickly descended to catch her before she hits the ground. Her move was so fast that not many can track how she does it so quickly. The assassination attempt failed. Zhou Lian and Zhou Mian was quite disappointed as they watches what happened.

Mu Anying slowly fell to Xiaolian’s arms and almost cried when she saw whom actually saved her from the fall and the arrow. She had tears forming up in her eyes. Xiaolian landed on the ground safely with Mu Anying. She helped Mu Anying stand straight.

“Ying’ er!” A panic voice was heard from the crowd. He ran to her and embraces her. It was Mu Yihang whom came to her and comforted her. Mu Anying snuggles into his embrace and cried, “Ge!”

“Don’t cry, your brother is here,” Mu Yihang said caressing her head trying to calm her down. He knew his sister must be frightened almost losing her life that instant. His heart aches. He turn to cup his hand at Xiaolian, “Thank you Headmaster Shen for saving my sister.” He look at her closely and found Xiaolian very calm. He had a calm temperament and his aura seem so extraordinary he have never felt before from anyone beside his older brother.

Suddenly, a man was thrown in front of them by a handsome man in black. Even in a thousand years Xiaolian can never forget this man’s face and presence. Her heart skips a beat as she saw him slowly turn his face and looks straight at him with a cold face and eyes, “This is the man…” He said almost sounding so absolute and domineering with his forbearance appearance and majestic air he gives off. He throws the man to the ground causing him to spit a mouthful of blood.

Mu Yihang nods, “Yes good thing my brother Yuhan was here he caught him and decided to bring him here for justice.” He caressed Mu Anying on the head to consult her.

Everyone drools over the existence of this man in black robes. Women gather around him but dare not to get too close due to his cold and merciless aura they felt. They dare not to anger this handsome devil but only wants to take a close look at him.

Xiaomi seem to be lost in that moment as she saw this handsome man in black robes. She blushes and hid behind Xiaolian. Xiaolian noticed her reaction and pull herself together. She looks at the man whom tried to assassinate Mu Anying and question, “Who put you up to the task? I warn you… I will not repeat my question,” she said calmly and with a warning tone.

The man dare not answer as he looks at Zhou Mian and Zhou Lian. He retracted his gaze and shook his head, “No one told me to I did it mys-!!!” As he finishes his claim, he suddenly felt a hand crushing his neck instantly ending his life. He panic blood streams down his mouth as he was unable to protest nor say a word.

Everyone look and it was Xiaolian’s hand whom crushed the man’s neck in one quick move. When she saw him no longer breathing she kicks his body aside warning, “I already said it… I will not ask for the second time.” She announces, “If anyone dare to hurt any students from Mt. Gaoshan Academy then this will be your doom!” She gave a warning reverberating through the sky making sure people in the town can hear her warning.

Mu Anying was surprised to see Xiaolian’s reaction to this. She was secretly happy being protected by the person she likes. Zhou Lian and Zhou Mian was scared to death but tried to remain calm on the surface. They found the man in black very handsome and now found out he was Mu Anying’s brother and they felt so embarrassed. Scared of death, they left forgetting about the winner.

The handsome figure resembling Asura from hell Mu Yuhan walks up close to Xiaolian. His cold voice sounded in the air that only a few people surrounded them can hear, “Not everyone gets to be my brother in law… I must approve and for now… You are not worthy.” As soon as Mu Anying heard these words she cried out, “Da Ge!” She rush to him and push him away from Xiaolian, “Headmaster Shen was only helping me! Don’t embarrass me in public!” She was upset.

The fact of Mu Anying liking Headmaster Shen was not a rumor. The whole academy knows of this that she was rejected countless times of confessing her love to him. Adding today’s event caused her to be much more embarrassed. She felt like she wanted to bury her head and disappear from gossip at that moment. Mu Yihang intercede, “Da Ge, regardless, Headmaster Shen had saved Ying’er-…” Mu Yuhan cuts him off with a snort, “Hmph!” His cold expression got even uglier and darker as he glare both his eyes at Mu Yihang saying, “You think I do not know what’s going around these days? All those rumors are to be dispel starting today don’t let it get to my ears again!” Then he turn around and was about to leave when Xiaomi interrupted, “What’s wrong with my cousin Shenqiao?” She was aside listening although she admire his handsome look she hates people talking down on her sister. She knows her sister works the hardest in all the years she’d known.

Between choosing to admire his handsome appearance and her sister, she chose to defend Xiaolian, “My cousin is the best in this world! He does not lack anything. I think you are the people that’s not worthy of my cousin!” She randomly spouted an argument. That really did gets Mu Yuhan’s attention. He turn to looks at Xiaomi. He expression was cold and deadly as no one has ever dare to question him nor speak down to him. He slowly approach her as he observe her stature. He found her wearing plain clothing and also has a white veil. Although she has a veil, he can tell perhaps she is a beauty from inside, but why hide it?

As he walk to approach Xiaomi, Xiaolian step right in between them. Then also, Mr, Lan step right in front of Xiaolian at the same time interrupting, “Demon Prince Mu Yuhan, they are not worth your attention. You should leave. That statement was to defend her cousin if it is you, I am sure you’d do the same.” He made his reason sound to be quite reasonable, however, Mu Yuhan pushes him aside and before him stood Xiaolian and then Xiaomi.

Mu Yuhan said to staring deep into Xiaolian’s eyes, “I will give you a chance… challenge me.” His voice sounded so emotionless as if he was ready to slaughter anyone in his way.

Mu Yihang, Mu Anying, Mr. Lan, and Zhan Ziyuan’s eyes widen as they were shock to this.
