《The tale of an undead armor (rewrite)》CH 1 - lost in the great wilderness

The very first thing that feels wrong is the temperature. Wasn't a hell realm supposed to scalding hot, so why the hell does it feel so cool.
Then come the other questions. What the hell is wrong with my vision. Firstly everything is so blurry and why the hell is everything blue. Also, why are there two creatures coming to kill me.
They are not particularly tough enemies, but they do intend to harm me. That is why they are coming towards me with one holding an axe and the other holding a sword.
Thankfully, my new form also has a weapon. It is a giant two-handed sword placed right next to me. I pick it up and I can feel my body creak about. These are not the kind of bodies that i am used to, but the devil's and their homunculi are legendary. This one seems to be wearing some kind of a armour, though i cant really feel its weight.
Well, my vision has not grown clearer, but I can tell that they are about two thirds of my height and both of them seem to be very thin. Their faces are still not clear to me.
While I try and take control of this body, the two enemies have already come pretty close to me. They don't really do anything though, for quite a while. It is the creature with the axe that acts first. It swings it axe almost lazily and I don't even need to see it to dodge this strike when i find empty ground instead of solid earth.
It is when i fall to the ground with a clang that I realise that I was standing on a pedestal. I am not surprised that i did not feel that, summonings tend to always mess with the senses, though never one with this much sensory damage.
Now is not the time to wonder, as I quickly steady myself before the enemy can come in and attack me. I have not gotten up, but am in a half crouching position such that i can roll away from the enemy. Fortunately, they seem to be quite scared of me.
I use that moment to get, a more disadvantageous position, but one that allows me to get a weapon. The enemies are staring at me, their fear keeping their weapons like a fully pushed spring.
This standoff of ours continues for the next few seconds, at the end of which I jump back pulling the sword that has been placed in the pedestal.
It almost slips out of my hand. This blade is too light. It is a proper two handed sword but with its weight, I can use it with a single hand.
The sword user strikes the first this time. I block block his swing with my sword. My block is strong enough to put the creature of balance as he tumbles to the ground. I can't finish him of though as the ax user appears in front of me.

I try to step out of the way, but this time I Fail as the ax makes a scratch on my armour. At least this armour of mine seems to be strong enough. The ax user retreats back, out of the range of my sword.
Well, I can't deal with two of them at the same time, especially with whatever mix up is going on here.
I had specifically asked to be summoned in a small and agile body. It lets me use my ability to their pinnacle. This is the opposite of my request.
Anyway, the sword user has gotten up and is slowly inching towards me from the back.
Well, it looks like I will have to take a certain amount of risk. I aim for the head of the ax user and throw it. At the same time, i turn the other direction and charge at the sword user.
What was supposed to be an ambush becomes pretty obvious to the enemy, as he swings his sword at my head. I can't stop my movement forward so all i can do is use my left hand to block it's strike.
I was expecting the sword would aimlessly clang of my Armor and then i would use that moment to grab onto his throat and strangle him to death. This body seems to be up for the task.
What I was not expecting was that his freaking sword would pass through my hand like it was butter. It felt cool at first , but the pain followed soon enough. It took me a moment to focus again, but thankfully that seems to have shocked the enemy similarly.
Before the enemy reacts, i grab its throat and begin to squeeze. The enemy tries to struggle, but i finally feel the neck of the enemy snap.
(A few minutes later)
I still don't know where I am or what I am even doing here. i am not in any place related to the devil's. I can tell whenever those creatures are nearby. They have this unique aura around them. It is kind of hard to put into words. Let's just say that i can smell their bacstabbery.
Well, that brings me to the next matter. There is nothing underneath the armour. Somehow, i am possessing the Armor. Right now i have a thousand questions in my mind, but i push them to back of my mind. Now is not the time to enter into a panic. Firstly, i will need to see what i am working with and then father information on what is happening to me.
For this i look at myself first.
Right now everything around me is blurry and in shades of blue. It is almost as if the world around me is a painting with constantly swirling shades of blue.
I have read records of this. It should be the mana sense that is used by many undead and many spirits too. I have never experienced it before but it is as weird as they say it is. I also seem to have a sense of touch but I certainly seem to be lacking in the other senses. It is pretty uncomfortable, to only have two senses.

Other than that, this body is strong, a step above the bodies i am usually provided with, just not the bodies i am normally used to.
Next, i take a look at my surroundings
I can confirm that i am not is some form of a hot place, because it is freezing right now. The reason for this could be because i am On a mountain peak. Other than that i can confirm that i am in some for of a cemetery. The place seems to be empty. I can see that most of the graves have been dugout. A necromancer is usually the reason for such a thing happening.
If that is the case, then it will be an headache. A necromancer can both be the easiest and the toughest enemy to fight.
Anyway, that leaves the last thing for me to consider. That would be the two corpses in front of me. I cannot see them exactly, but based on their body shape i would say that they are humanoids.
I am conflicted between whether it is a goblin or an imp. Both have similar structures and with how my vision is, it is hard to tell. Regardless, either species is not something that i can handle right now, but it will be easier to deal with an imp. Those guys tend to be solitary creatures, unlike the goblins who are pack hunters.
I am surprised that whoever the enemy is has yet react, but they should be doing so soon enough. Judging from the strength of the two i killed, there might be a chance for me.
(Meanwhile)
Not far from the graveyard is a small collection of huts, belonging to a bunch of goblins. The goblins usually do not have the skill, nor the magic to create such things, but this particular group is very unique. They have an elder after all. Anyway, inside the largest Hut sit a group of four goblins. The most prominent among them is the oldest member there, a certain elder known as elder bone.
The other three goblins, all are discussing with each other excitedly, arguing and cutting each other out, clearly trying to impress the elder. Anyway, this noisy argument continues until the elder suddenly clears his throat, quietening the bunch instantly.
Elder bone - little ones, how is the situation at the border. What are our losses.
Goblin knight - elder, we are being force to deal with dungeon spawn from the north and the south. The humans also will come to attack is in the north, soon enough. My base base can barely hold on as it is.
Goblin leader - the valley of the fallen is still not a possible escape route. The enemies there have grown too powerful for us. Every troop sent there has ended up dying. The named ones might do better, but I don't think it is worth the risk.
Elder bone - what about the mountain, there are no enemies there and no creature can fight us at those locations.
Goblin mage - there seems to be something up there too. We sent a couple of nameless ones to patrol the region, but those lifeforces disppeared near the peak.
This certainly gives a shock to the elder, whose eye widens in shock.
Elder bone - that is my mistake, I have an experiment up there. Don't send anybody up there for some time.
Goblin leader - yes, elder. I don't want to waste my troops anyway. I will be going up there tommorow.
Goblin leader - yes elder, I don't want to waste my troops anyway.
Elder bone - what about our food reserves. What is happening about that.
Goblin mage - well, we already have enough food to last us a couple of months. If we were to abandon the nameless we can extend it to atleast half an year.
Their discussion trail on, discussion the logistics that come with ruling a group of people. The meeting ends soon, with no real decision made. The elder knows that in the end, these guys will do whatever is it that they wish to do. All he can do is to keep them in check and make sure that they do nothing stupid.
The goblins are a weird bunch, they hold an obsession with names that is seen in any other species. Their entire society is based on names and titles.
At the very bottom we have the nameless, whose position is equal to that of slaves. Most are captured goblins, from opposing clans and groups. They are the cannonfodder
Of this group.
Then we have the named ones, who are the members of their clan. They are the one who can learn magic and take the position of soldiers, healers, hunters or something else. They are also allowed to learn magic.
Then we have the titles ones, these are the most powerful people in the village. The leader of the armed troop of the village is known as goblin knight. The strongest mage is known as goblin mage and the leader of the the village, the goblin leader.
Lastly comes the elder, who is the strongest in the village in terms of might. Such a position is pretty ceremonial to be honest. There is not much political power held by the elder. He is basically there to keep the order and make sure that the titled ones do not cause much of a mess and also tend to be the strongest figure in a goblin village.

The Demon of Shadows (Hiatus)
Spartans. Genetically modified supersoldiers who participated in the spartan program, which aimed to reinforce and compensate for the humans capability of emotion in order to create the ideal supersoldier. The program itself resulting in the implantation of a limiter for a certain individual, which acted in limiting that persons emotions. Replacing it with a cold logical based calculative mindscape. The limiter aimed to support the ideal supersoldier in completing the objectives assigned to them. Be it mass slaughter, or assasination. One such man who had volunteered to participate in the program to provide data in return for a large sum of money to save a precious friend, has his life lost in battle after years of service and mindless violence. Death, however, was something he usually gave, not to receive. So when death comes to take his life, he awaits in silence, only to be dumbfounded at what is to happen next. This is the story of Nicholas Gray, the Shadow Demon. Note: Story is based on other LitRPGs found on the site such as Dante's Immortality, Necromancer and Co, etc. and on Halo for the majority of the first chapter and possibly later on down the road, I only borrowed things such as the armour and weapons used in the game itself and all credit goes to them for that kind of stuff. I will also perhaps use it to explain his backstroy to further character progression if I can. The cover photo was also a picture I found on the internet and if you wish for credit or for me to take it down just say so and i'll do it as fast as possible. I also don't have a set schedule, and this is just being used to improve my grammar and just as a hobby, nothing more. I will also appreciate feedback in regards to grammar, style, and story in general as this is the first time I have created a story apart from at school, hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it!

Paternum: A Superhero Story
When Quinn finds an experimental superpower-granting costume in their parents’ attic, they didn’t expect to be drawn into a web of superhuman intrigue, but their discovery serves as the catalyst for that conspiracy to slowly unravel. At it’s heart, Paternum is an extended coming-of-age story for the main character as they become a superhero, in a world with more reasonable stakes and less powerful heroes than many superheroic worlds. Themes include what art means to different people, and what it means to be a patron, whether as a sponsor, a parent, or a supporter. I consider Paternum‘s primary influences to be the various versions of Spider-Man, J. C. McCrae’s own superhero story Worm, and Drew Hayes’ story SuperPowereds. I hope that fans of such stories can find something to enjoy in mine as well. Paternum is primarily hosted on my website (thevoidwrites.com) where it updates weekly in groups of scenes totalling approximately 2000 words. Here on Royal Road, it will update once daily with one scene at a time, but only after each act is completed on the home site - the next batch of updates is scheduled to begin on February 5th. There is a discord channel for discussion (discordapp.com/invite/QFMM6yA), and you can vote for Paternum on topwebfiction (topwebfiction.com/vote.php?for=paternum) as well. Finally, you can buy the first book of Paternum, The Swift Uplifting Rush, in a couple different ways - as an ebook through Amazon, or directly from me for a discounted price, or as a physical paperback from Amazon. Buying the book will give you access to Drawing Hands, an exclusive arc that won't ever be published on either my site or Royal Road.
