Alex decided they were far enough from the city and chose to make camp at the edge of the Eastern Great Forest as it housed only a small number of low-level animals that could pose a threat if each of them were on their own, but as a group were no threat. Leaning against the trunk of a large tree, Alex dropped as his legs gave out after running the great distance from the city and the other players.

“We’ll rest here tonight and head out for one of the smaller towns in the morning,” Alex said while leaning his head against the tree.

Each of the young women took a spot under the shade of the Alex was sitting against, seeing that his sisters and best friend were safe for now Alex opened his menus and navigated to the first screen labelled ‘General Information'

Elizabeth saw what Alex was doing and opened her own menus, upon reading her own character screen looked up at Alex. “Uh, Alexios what’s with the levelling system?”

Looking up from his transparent screen, Alex looked over at Elizabeth, “What do you mean?”

“Well I see here that we have a three-tier levelling system, shouldn’t it just be like all other MMORPGs with levels like Level 1, Level 2 and so on.”

Alex knew that a lot of people would be confused as to why Nimbor had a three-tier levelling system, but it made sense. “Well dad wanted to break up the levelling system of past MMORPGs, so his first step was to group the levels within three tiers: that being Rookie, Adventurer and Legend, this way everyone would know where they stand in comparison to everyone else.” Alex paused to recall more of the levelling system his dad informed about, “Next he broke up each Tier with a ranking system with twelve levels each, this whole system also applies to the animals and NPCs around us.” Alex paused again to remember the last piece of the levelling system, “And lastly we have the five levels within each of those ranks, that not only track our general leveling process but also our skill levels and proficiency levels.”

“So in other words, simple but complex,” Elizabeth replied.

Alex smiled at her reply, “Yeah, that’s our father in a nutshell. Our mother and grandpa were the only ones to truly understand him.”

Elizabeth was about to continue their conversation but was interrupted by her best friend getting notification, Alex’s eyes widened with his mouth falling open at the message before him.

“What the bloody hell?” Alex said.

“What is it, Alex?” Lara asked shocked at the level of her brother’s voice.

“I-I’ve been selected for dad’s live streaming program, Project Phoenix,” Alex Said never taking his forest green eyes off Elizabeth’s chocolate brown.

Alex watched as his best friend’s features darken as she rose to feet as he told his sister the news that he had been selected out of the 30 thousand Australian players, he knew that Project Phoenix was her dream after showing her the numerous articles covering both Nimbor and Project Phoenix. One article that got both of them excited was the fact that Project Phoenix was the newest gateway for those who were looking to become actors or professional competitive gamers, and here he was getting what he knew was her future handed to on a silver platter all because of who his father was.

Alex instantly had his hand up in surrender, “Liz please, you got to believe me. I had nothing to do with this…”

“SHUT IT!”

“Liz plea…”

“NO! You don’t get to call me that anymore, you backstabbing bastard!” Elizabeth spat, her fist tightening.

At the sight of her brother’s best friend standing over him, Kate rose and stood next to her twin, “Liz, what the hell are you doing?”

“Ask your prick of a brother here, Katelynn.”

“Hey, back off Liz. And brother may be many things but a backstabber isn’t one of them.”

“Oh, is that so Katelynn. Not only will he not notice that I’m in love with him and have been since year six, but now he has stolen my dream. My ambition that was my goal in life of being a household name, so step the fuck aside bitch and take your twin with you.”

“Elizabeth! Leave my sisters out of this, it is between us.” Alex snapped while rising to his feet.

“Well at least we can agree there, it is indeed between us, my love. Right here, right now I’ll show why you should fall to your knees and love me.” Elizabeth said while drawing her spear and shield from her inventory and levelling the spear’s point at the man she loves.
