《A Vampire's Complications》Chapter Fourteen

Against everyone's better judgement, I decided to meet up with Donny. I only did so to come up with an understanding to put an end to some of the fighting. That way we didn't have to deal with the death of so many innocent people. The last attack was probably the hardest for us to recover from when the majority of the deaths were the children.
Donny had me meet him out in the middle of a park out in the open. He also knew that I wouldn't come alone and instructed all of the guards to keep their distance. It was the only way that he would keep his people away because he wasn't going to come alone either.
The night sky didn't hide the presence that Donny had. Just standing a few feet from him, I could sense that this was someone who was groomed to be a leader. I remember Ricky mentioning that he was never supposed to be the leader of the Seadonna family. It was a last minute decision his father made that caused his death.
"You didn't bring the ones I was expecting you to bring," Donny said the moment I took a seat next to him on a bench that the park provided along the walking path.
"I haven't seen David for a few days and Mike is too busy dealing with the aftermath of your little stunt that you had pulled," I told him straight out. Making him smirk out of amusement.
"I'm not as evil as they say I am," he defended himself.
"You sure have a way of proving it," I pointed out to him, "Aren't you sick of all of this fighting?"
He looked at me with his red eyes that glowed in the little bit of light we had, "I don't give orders other than to make Ricky's life difficult. What they do has nothing to do with me."

"Is that how a leader should be?" I asked him before standing up, "I only came because you threatened the only family I have left. What do you want?"
Donny stayed silent. He was quiet for so long that I turned to see if he was still there. Instead he was staring at me with studying eyes. The gaze was so intense that it made me shift uncomfortable, "What have you heard about me?"
"Other than that you were the original leader of the Seadonna family, but for some reason your father changed his mind. Then you killed him in a fit of rage," I answered, "Is there more to the story I need to know?"
He shook his head as he stood up from the bench, "That pretty much summarizes it. But my father changed his mind after he found my mother's letter. Why it took four years for that to surface could only mean that someone inside the family hid it."
It made sense with how he worded it. I was told that there have always been people like Donny long before he was born. It only made sense that someone wanted to have Donny as the leader no matter what. Then a thought popped in my head.
"We have a mole right now, don't we?" I said as I looked at him in shock.
He nodded his head, "One of my people is soulmates with one of your people. I know who it is, but it is your job to find out the answer. There would be no fun in that if I just gave you the answer."
As much as I wanted to be annoyed with him, I had other things to worry about. Like the fact that we had someone in the family that would sell us out to the enemy. With this information I had to talk to Ricky about it. See if he had just the same superstitions as his brother.

"Why are you telling me this?" I asked him.
"To show that I'm not as bad as they make me seem to be. I just have a temper," he answered, "I'm as saveable as some would like me to be."
He then turned and walked away. Making me realize that he never said anything about my father. He literally made me completely forget about the reason why I came here in the first place. Confused how he did that, I shouted after him, "What about my dad?"
He didn't even stop walking. Just looked over his shoulder at me and shouted, "I lied."

A Sith? During The Fall
Darth Zaros was the Empire’s Wrath; the greatest Sith Warrior and a man feared across the galaxy. He was also just my Old Republic game character until I somehow woke up as him. If that wasn’t bad enough, I was sent thousands of years into the future to the eve of the Great Jedi Purge. Alone and surrounded by enemies, can Zaros survive long enough to figure out how he got there? Can he ever find his way back? Follow along as Zaros uses his powers and more importantly, the knowledge of a fan, to navigate his way through a dangerous Universe. I'm working with a mixture of canon and legends stuff. If it hasn't been written over in canon then it will probably be free game. Because I’m reconciling various different sources, power levels won’t be blown out of proportion to the point that force users become the only relevant people in the Galaxy. I added the gore tag just in case. This is Star Wars, so there won’t be any needless blood spatters, but lightsaber duels often end with some body part cut off.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
