Jaus with the King and Jera arrive at the manor.

A lot of maids and butlers come out to see their new masters.

The guards don't move but keep an eye on the new masters.

Jaus walks next to Jera but a little behind the king.

The manor is big. The fields around it are flat and range for a very long time.

The manor is very beautiful and well made.

Jaus is sent to the furthest room in the house and Jera to the opposite room. Jera is mad at that decision but acts fine with it. Jaus just is very observant.

They settle in and go back to the living room. The king already left to do some more important matters.

Jera: "So we are living together now... Knight Jaus."

Jaus: "Indeed we are Princess Jera. And Jaus is just fine if saying Knight doesn't fit you."

Jera: "Ok Jaus... You can call me Jera. I have a question for you... Where are you from?"

Jaus: "Beast continent. Can't remember exactly from where."

Jera: "Ok.... How old are you."

Jaus: "Only if you don't faint or shout that it's impossible."

Jera: "I promise."

Jaus: "700 years."

Jera: "How..? Only elves can live that long... But you keep such a youthful appearance... A vampire?"

Jaus: "Not quite... But you can call me a monster.... I'm not human is all i am going to say."

Jera: "Well... Ok..."

Jera goes off to her room wondering about something. Jaus starts walking around, closely inspecting the area he is going to live at. He is still suspicious about the human world.

He trusts the king and the royal family a little but others not so much.

He doesn't see anything out of place and only finds a secret passage what leads down to an ancient library. The library seems to be from before the time he was born. Aka over 701 years old. He decides to check it out tomorrow if nothing pops up.

He then goes to his room and pretends to be asleep. He actually is just thinking about what could've changed when he was asleep.

In the morning he is surprised. The maids and butlers are rushing around. The guards are shouting something.

He goes to check at the front gate.

Rui is there. Heavily bruised.

The guards won't let her through even if she says she is friends with Jaus.

Jaus: "Guards! Let her through! Rui's my friend now!"

Guard #1: "Ok. Rui? WAIT! There is only one girl with the name of Rui and this appearance... Amethius's slave. Did you forcefully take her along?"

Jaus: "Yes. Let's keep it at that."

Guard #1: "But that will raise problems with Amethius! He might send men to kill you sir!"

Jaus: "And they will die to my hand if they are as idiotic as to attack me! Now let her in! I want to see what happened to her."

The guard opens the gate and Rui runs to Jaus.

Jaus: "Who did this to you Rui?"

Rui: "The guards at the city... No guard at the city likes slaves... But i'm not a slave anymore right...?"

Jaus: "Upcourse not Rui... Upcourse not."

Jaus squats down and hugs Rui. Rui blushes. Rui has the appearance of a 12 year old girl. Jaus has the mentality of a 15 year old but also of a 700 year old. When he is friendly he is like a 15 year old. When he is neutral or not friendly it is 700 year old.

Rui: "It hurts Jaus... They kicked me around... They threw me around and poked at me with their spears..."

Jaus: "It will all be fine Rui. I can tell you aren't a bad girl. You are too young and innocent to be a bad girl. If you were you wouldn't do anything bad to me right?"

Rui: "Yeah..."

Jaus calls for a maid to take care of Rui.

Jera woke up and saw the commotion outside and Jaus hugging Rui.

When Rui is taken away to get treated Jaus looks behind and sees Jera.

Jaus: "Good Morning Jera."

Jera: "Who was that girl?"

Jaus: "Former slave of Amethius. Now my friend. And if Amethius wants her I will kill him."

Jera: "So you are even willing to pick a fight with THAT Amethius. Quite brave. But also idiotic."

Jaus: " I heard that you are ferocious but you don't seem like that to me."

Jera: "I... Don't know how to act around you. You are different from the others."

Jaus: "Well... What are your plans for today?"

Jera: "Nothing much... We are in a place where no carriages or anything usually comes by. And the closest village is half a day of riding away. I'd rather stay here."

Jaus: "Shall I stay by your side or train the guards not on watch duty?"

Jera: "Can't you do both? I'm interested in watching you train guards. Your methods of teaching guards should be different than others..."

Jaus: "Affirmative."

Jaus calls for guards not on watch duty and just spending their time lazing around and waiting for something to do.

The guards come together to the middle of the plaza and Jaus orders them to start fighting each other. But no blows what might make the guard useless in fighting.

Jaus then watches the duels go on for an hour and afture the hour starts training each and every one of them at the same time but in seperate ways.

He points out every flaw in the attack or defence.

Jera: "He sees everything... He even noticed some things I didn't until he pointed them out..."

Jaus trains them for hous until Rui interrupts Jaus from commanding the guards. He tells the guards to take a break while talking to Rui.

Rui: "I'm back Jaus!"

Jaus: "So what are you doing here Rui? Interested in watching our little training?"

Rui: "Yeah! It looks... Fun."

Jaus: "There is nothing fun about hurting somebody else... Usually."

Rui: "Oh... But it's still interesting to see you do things!"

Jaus: "Go sit with Jera alright? She is watching from over there."

Rui: "Ok big brother Jaus!"

Jaus: "Go now and be nice to Jera."

Rui: "Ok!"

Jaus then continues to train the guards until the watch change comes. He repeats the process for the entire day. He also keeps an eagle's eye on everything around him.

When Rui and Jera went for dinner he didn't. He kept looking around.

He decided to show Jera and Rui about the library at midnight.

He woke Rui who was sleeping in Juas's room for now and Jera.

Jera: "What are we doing this late at night...?"

Jaus: "Trust me. I found something interesting."

Jera: "Ok... But i'm sleepy... Let's get this over with..."

Jaus shows them the library. They are intrigued to see such an old structure underneath the manor. They don't explore much of it because it's dark down there and they aren't prepeared so Jaus closes the door afture everybody is out. But Jaus hears something weird. Like a hiss from a female Lamia.

He decided to ignore it for now and goes back to his room while saying good bye to Jera.

Rui runs into Jaus's room aswell because she is sleeping next to Jaus.

The girls sleep and Jaus thinks about the hiss he heard.

"What is in the library? What is it truly?" Jaus asks himself...
