Chapter 3

Another 3 months had gone by fairly quickly Nox and Sakura have gotten quite comfortable with each other. At first it was pretty awkward Sakura didn't talk much but she soon opened up after about 3 weeks. As it turns out the reason Sakura was alone is because it was the death of her parents anniversary so she was revisiting the grave leaving behind her pack but, she got lost along the way and was attacked by those wolfs. Other than that Sakura also informed me that she was level 96 she was close to evolving she told me if she hunted enough maybe in about 3 years she can evolve. As it turns out Nox was level 93 so hopefully both of them can evolve before we leave this place in 9 years.

As for me I am level 2 I don't really know how to explain it but, if you close your eyes and think of your level a number appears that is your current level. Currently were on our daily jog right now we are on 9 miles it takes us about 1 hour to finish the jog. My mana enhancing has gotten stronger I can now have my hands and feet covered in mana at the same time now it's made hunting a lot easier especially with Sakura around. Since Sakura has arrived we had to change our hunting style we've been going after larger pray now for the last week we hunted Dire Wolves they are stronger version of wolves there a lot bigger as well almost 4 heads larger.

The scariest thing about Dire Wolves is there speed there incredibly fast I barley have time to dodge every time they jump at me and there strength is no joke. Once Nox got hit by one of there paws she flew back until she hit a tree stopping her momentum, we had to retreat it took a couple of days for her to heal but thankfully I can heal her bit by bit using mana. Currently though with my level and mana amount I can only heal so much at a time I really need to get stronger the more time I spend out here in the wild the more I am starting to understand that in this world the strong eat the weak. As we jogged past the rock that served as our landmark we finished up our 9 mile jog and it was time to go hunting.

Looking deeper into the forest I saw some movement before whatever it was came out I made sure to alert the other 2.

“ Nox Sakura something is coming be prepared. “

They both braced themselves and slowly the creature in the bushes emerged

!!! we all went on major alert it was a Red backed bear!!! there at least twice the size of a Dire Wolf. It started to sniff around until it spotted us as soon as it did the Red backed bear let out a howl and charged.

“ Nox go around behind it and Sakura distract it your faster than both of us “

“ Sure “ Sakura respoded

“ By your will “ said Nox

Soon enough they both took off the Red backed bear looked towards me at first but soon enough it turned towards Sakura whenever she jumped up and smacked it face with her tail. The bear was angered it let out a roar so deafening it made me hold my ears I thought they would bleed but this is no time to be worry about that if we don't succeed here well all be dead.

Picking myself up I rushed to the right side of the bear as Nox slithered up behind it. Sakura was doing a good job so far of keeping the bear distracted it kept swiping at her but she made sure to keep her distance and not get too close. As me and Nox got ready to strike the bear started to catch on it turned around and let out a huge roar again this time however I grit my teeth and charged forward as did Nox. We both went in from different sides Nox's fangs sank deep into the bears neck and my strike going deep into his side. This bear however wasn't done he flailed his arms around in hopes of injuring us I thought it would surely die soon but soon I heard

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAA “

the cry came from Sakura

This dam bear hit her with his flailing we had no choice but to let go of him Sakura was more important than this thing. Once me and Nox released the bear it dashed off into the woods it was surprisingly fast. Rushing over to Sakura to see her injury's they did not look so good I poured what mana I had left into her and the wounds stopped bleeding at the very least.

“ Sakura i'm taking you to the cave now it might hurt a little while were walking but please bear with it for now “

I only heard a slight whimper as a response but sure enough she was fine for the walk to the cave it wasn't too far seeing as this was the end route for our jog. Once we got into the cave I layed Sakura down on the bed I made from the pelts we had gathered.

Afterwards I poured the rest of my mana into Sakura her wounds started to close a little but I knew there was still much damage left.

“ Nox I must rest now please watch over us while I sleep make sure Sakura is ok “ “ Ressst massster thisss one will watch over both of you “

Draining all my mana makes me so tired I curled up next to Sakura and slowly dazed off if I can trust anyone to guard us its Nox.

Slowly opening my eyes the next day I looked towards Sakura she seemed to be doing better her breathing was more steady. So once again I poured all of my mana into her and then proceeded to eat some dried jerky I had in case of emergencies. A few hours past until Sakura started to awaken as soon as she did I heard.

“ Master I am sorry my misinterpretation of what was happening during that battle has caused me to get injured I thought the beast was dead “

“ Its ok Sakura you did nothing wrong right now all that matters is that you get better so rest now I will continue to heal you we will just have to train harder so that next time we can take it down. “

Sakura seemed fine with that answer as she soon dozed off again and just like that another day went by in the eventful world everyday gets more interesting. Once again I poured what mana I had recovered into Sakura and dozed off to dreamland another day goes by in this new world.
